Location: Prestonwood Polo & Country Club is located in Oak Point, north of Dallas and west of Frisco, 20 minutes north of Dallas. Nestled on a peninsula and surrounded by Lake Lewisville, when you arrive you suddenly feel as if your in the country. Club: Prestonwood Polo club was founded in 2008 on the 40 th anniversary of its affiliate Prestonwood Country Club in Dallas. Prestonwood has the most successful youth polo program in North Texas and is available to kids age 8-18.
Polo Club: Prestonwood has 2 world class polo fields, 2 polo arenas, half-mile track and stabling for over 100 horses. Prestonwood is a USPA registered club and lies in the heart of north Texas horse country. The soil is deep natural sandy loam, ideal footing for horses and polo. Polo matches are held every week and offer all players an opportunity to play. It s a polo club for players that like to play polo. Games range from 0-16 goal. A third Polo field is planned as well. Season: Prestonwood s polo season is year-round, during the spring, summer and fall it is played on the outdoor field, during the winter months played in the arena. Prestonwood Polo Foundation has 4 major charity events per year, two spring and two fall. These events provide an opportunity for fans and players to participate and help worthwhile causes while raising awareness for the sport of polo. Youth polo soared at Prestonwood Polo Club in 2015! Our High School team made history as one of the youngest teams to reach the National USPA Polo Championship! This year 38 teams from all over the USA competed for the trophy that dates back to 1928 and Prestonwood made the final. Team mates Vaughn Miller Jr, Vance Miller III and Ronnie Puente are three time High School Champions in the Central USA division and defeated teams from New York and Houston to reach the National finals VS Maryland. They lost a tough game in the finals against an older team but they re looking forward next year. Our youth polo program is considered one of the best in the country, we have kids from 3rd to 12th grades participating and their parents play too! Come try out a polo lesson with your kids, it s a great sport you can both play together! Our spring season opens Saturday, April 25 with the Junior League of Collin County s Lone Star Stomp and then our 14th annual Polo on the Lawn Kentucky Derby Day on Saturday, May 3 benefitting Café Momentum which helps at-risk youth.
