Ontario Championships Date: April 4 th 7 th, 2013 Host Club: Rose City Gymnastics Equipment: 2 full sets of equipment Schedule: posted on GO website Judges: Judging Panels set by Mid March. Athletes: Provincial OCP Level 5 9 National CPN Elite/ Aspire, Novice, Junior, Senior and Open Table of Contents Qualifiers 1 Ontario Championships 1 Easterns 2 Canadians 2 National Stream Cup 2 Annual Assembly 3 National Tour: Florida 3 Congress 4 Elite Canada 4 Provincial Tour: Montreal 4 Level 2 4 Training Camp 4 GO JO 5 GCG Clubs of Excellence 5 Alternates: Event Finals: The qualification list for Ontario Championships is determined by averaging all eligible Provincial athletes top 2 qualifier scores (including Tour Selection score). The top 32 athletes in OCP level 5 9 will be eligible to compete at Ontario Championships. National categories are eligible to compete at Ontario Championships through registration. Please note that if an alternate is notified to compete they might not be notified until after the registration deadline. If an alternate were to be called upon it could be anytime leading up to the competition. There will be a limit of two gymnasts per club qualifying for each of the Event Finals. Where there are more than 2 athletes from one club in the top 8 the top 2 highest ranking athletes from that club based on results will determine the athletes who qualify for Event Finals. Provincial Athletes for the top 8 athletes in OCP Level 7 9, age 14+ is determined by averaging all eligible athletes top 2 event score from qualifiers. Open Athletes The top 8 athletes are determined by the score achieved at Ontario Championships. A list of all qualified athletes will be posted at the end of the competition. Athletes are required to confirm (with WPM) within 15 minutes of completion of awards that they will compete and submit a meet fee of $25.00 per athlete to the host club. (This is a flat fee, each athlete will pay $25.00 regardless of how many event finals they qualify for The Gymnastics Ontario office will be closed March 29th for Good Friday. Page 2 of 5 March 2013 Upcoming Events (Ontario) Apr 4 7: Ontario Championships (Windsor) Jun 10: Annual Technical Assembly (GO) August 23 24: Congress (East York) Ontario Championships Continued Awards: Medals ( to ) and Ribbons ( to ).There will be no bumping in the case of a tie (i.e., if there is a tie for 2 nd place there is no 3 rd place). Special Awards: Awards will be presented for each age and level for, Bars, Beam and Floor. The criteria for each event will be communicated Easterns and Canadians: Ontario Championships will be the selection event for Eastern Canadian Championships and Canadian Championships for designated national categories. Events to Know (National/International) May 10 12: Eastern Canadian Championships (St. Johns, Newfoundland) Canadian Championships (Ottawa) Eastern Championships The 2013 Eastern Canadian Championships is being held May 10 11 th, 2013. The event is being hosted by Gymnastics Newfoundland and Labrador at the NL Sports Centre, St. Johns, Newfoundland. Team Ontario Selection will be at Ontario Championships. Bulletin #1 can be found on the GO website. More information will be communicated shortly. Canadian Championships This May Gymnastics Canada is hosting the Canadian Championships in partnerships with Kanata Rhythmic Sportive Gymnastics, Ottawa Gymnastics Centre, Tumblers Gymnastics and Unigym Gatineau. This multi discipline event will be held May 17 25, 2013 at the Carleton University, Ravens Nest Gym and Field House. The Women s Artistic portion is currently schedules for May 21 25, 2013. Team Ontario Selection will be at Ontario Championships. Bulletin #1 has been circulated and more information will be communicated shortly. National Stream Cup Athletes selected from the Burlington Qualifier represented Team Ontario at the National Scream Cup, in Edmonton Alberta, January 25 27 th, 2013. These athlete represented Ontario in the Team, Individual and Event Finals Competitions achieving many successes. GO JO Looking into the Future The Women s Ontario Competitive Program will be restructured beginning Sept 1, 2013. Below is information to help provide a smooth transition into the 2013 2014 season. Here are a few important target dates... Liz Armitage and Elena Davydova were selected to be FIG assistant Course Conductors. Liz was the assistant for Brevet course in Montreal and Elena for the course in Australia. Elena was also assigned to judge at the American Cup recently.
