USEF RULES This show will be conducted in accordance with the current USEF rule book. The rules and specifications of this prize list notwithstanding, the latest published rules of the USEF will apply. ELIGIBILITY AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS MO101 Eligibility 1. Horses shown in this division must be registered with the American Morgan Horse Association, Inc., or an organization having registry reciprocity, (Canadian Morgan Horse Association, British Morgan Horse Society, Swedish Morgan Horse Society.) Horses must be entered under their full registered name or if under one year of age be eligible for registration. Horses must be entered under the names of the owner(s) or lessee of record. A copy of the registration papers showing recorded ownership or proof of lease must be submitted with entry form at the time of making entry. Competition management is responsible for notifying exhibitors of this requirement. 2. Canadian horses born after January 1, 1985, can be shown with Canadian registration papers as long as the papers do not state not eligible for U.S. reciprocity. 3. Owners (lessees), riders, drivers, handlers, coaches, and trainers of horses participating at Federation licensed competitions in all Morgan sections must be current members in good standing with the American Morgan Horse Association, Inc., or an organization having registry reciprocity (or pay a non-member fee. Set fees shall be payable to AMHA.) An original or a copy of the membership card must be provided to the competition unless the competition, at their discretion, confirms membership electronically with one of these organizations. Lessees are considered owners in connection with this membership requirement. In the event of an entry under multiple ownerships, only one owner need be a member. Exceptions: Exhibitors in Leadline and/or Walk-Trot classes are exempt from this membership requirement. Additionally, a parent/guardian when only signing an entry blank for a minor is not required to be a member or pay a non-member fee. BOD 11/7/16 Effective 12/1/16. 4. In classes for Maiden, Novice or Limit horses, ribbons won as a driving horse within a section do not count when reckoning the status of the horse as a driving horse in another Section. In classes for Maiden, Novice or Limit horses, ribbons won as a saddle horse within a section do not count when reckoning the status of the horse as a saddle horse in another Section. Ribbons won as a driving horse do not count when reckoning the status of a saddle horse and visa versa. 5. In classes for Maiden, Novice or Limit riders, ribbons won in any saddle class of any Division or Section shall count in reckoning the status as a rider. In classes for Maiden, Novice or Limit drivers, ribbons won in any driving class of any Division or Section shall count in reckoning the status as a driver. MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT (GR901.9) Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $45 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot (exception: Friesian performance FR222) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas 2 23

de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. DOGS Dogs, or other pets, are not permitted to be loose at any time (arrival to departure) on competition grounds. Dogs, or other pets, must be kept contained, or on a leash no greater than 6 feet in length under the immediate control of a responsible person and shall not be allowed to disturb or annoy visitors. The Ingham County Animal Control Ordinance and State Dog Law shall be strictly enforced. A $50 fine will be charged for any dog SEEN loose on the show grounds. The person that owns or is in immediate charge of any dog shall immediately remove all droppings and deposit in trash receptacle on competition grounds. If no receptacle is available, droppings are to be taken off competition grounds and disposed of. Dog, or other pet, owners failing to comply will be subject to penalty. As per USEF RULES Dogs are not permitted to be loose on competition grounds and must be held on a leash or otherwise restrained. Individuals must not lead dogs on a leash while mounted. Dog owners are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from their dogs behaviors. Dog owners failing to comply with this rule will be issued a Yellow warning card may be subject to penalty under Chapters 6 and 7. REFUSAL OF ENTRIES The Board of Directors of the Michigan Justin Morgan Horse Association, Inc. (MJMHA) forbids any legal entity or individual with outstanding debts to the Association from showing at the Michigan All Morgan Horse Show. All debts must be settled with the Michigan All Morgan Horse Show Manager. These individuals, their family members, employees, and any horse owned, leased, or shown by them will not be allowed to enter the show arena. Additionally, the MJMHA reserves the right to refuse any entry. LADIES ENTRIES Entries in Ladies classes are restricted to exhibitors 18 years and over. These classes qualify for their respective Amateur Championship, if shown by an amateur. ATTIRE All riders, drivers, handlers and attendants must be appropriately attired to enter the show ring. Be advised this means no shorts, tank tops or halter tops. DIVISION, CANCELLATION OR COMBINATION OF CLASSES The Horse Show Committee reserves the right to cancel any class where there are less than four entries. They also may combine or divide any classes should the best interest of the show require it. In case of cancellation, the entry fee will be refunded. HOLDS Out of consideration for all exhibitors, holds must be requested before the start of the session of the class requiring the hold. Holds will be 2 minutes & will not be cancelled. MICHIGAN HORSE SHOW ASSOCIATION POINTS This show is operated in accordance with the rules and standards set by the Michigan Horse Show Association. Only current MHSA members are eligible to receive points for their placings. MEASUREMENT OF FEET Management reserves the right to measure feet before any protests are filed where the length of toe is a requirement. All champions and reserve champions must have one foot measured immediately upon leaving the ring. Would like to wish everyone Good Luck this year at the show. 22 STAKE CLASSES Stake Classes will not be required to strip, and shall be judged on a 60% performance and 40% type and conformation basis. DISCIPLINE Exhibitors are warned that any action of discourtesy or disobedience to the officials on the part of the owner, rider, or driver, will disqualify the horse. Exhibitors will be held fully responsible for any damage or discourtesy caused by their employees or guests. The Management reserves the right to remove any groom, horse, rider, or driver from the show, without being liable for compensation. No exhibitor shall approach a Judge with regard to a decision unless he first obtains permission from the Steward who shall arrange an appointment with the Judge at a proper time and place and under no circumstances, while any session of the show is in progress. Exhibitors are to refrain from fraternizing with the Judges at any time before or during the show. VETERINARIAN S HOURS The Veterinarian s hours and on-call telephone number will be posted in the Show Office or available from the Barn Manager. 3

MEDICAL WASTE Needles or other sharp disposable instruments must be placed in the proper receptacles. Management may fine any individuals including trainers, owners, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal. ADMISSION OF HORSES Horses will be admitted to the MSU Pavilion grounds beginning on Wednesday, May 23 after 8:00 A,M. Any exhibitor arriving prior to this time with horses will be turned away. Horses must be entered in at least one class to be admitted to the MSU Pavilion grounds. All horses shall leave the MSU Pavilion no later than 10:00 P.M. Sunday, May 27, 2018. STALLS Stalls are mandatory for all horses. No showing from trailers. Stalls are approximately 10 x10, have doors, and are solid on the bottom half with bars on the top. Arena Barn stalls have cement floors, the South Barn stalls have dirt floors. Stallion panels for solid upper half of stalls are available for a charge of $5 per panel. Please pre-arrange for these if needed. Tape, stickers, nails, tacks, staples, hooks, screws and other objects shall not be placed in the facilities walls, doors, floors, ceilings, trees, post or stalls. Exhibitors will be responsible for the cost of repairing damage or alterations to stalls. Anyone using a stall not assigned to him will be charged an additional $100.00, which must be paid prior to admission to any class. SHOW RING The show ring is approximately 110 x 220. The footing in all arenas is a mixture of sifted soils and wood chips. DRESSAGE RING The dressage ring is 20 x 60 meters. The footing in all arenas is a mixture of sifted soils and wood chips. SHOW RING HOURS The Show Ring is available for daily practice sessions up to one hour before each session. There will be 30 minutes of Quiet Time for working horses in the Show Ring every day of the show following the final class of the morning session. During this time, no popping of lash whips, use of powder or plastic bags, or any other noise-making device will be allowed in the Show Ring. LUNGING OF HORSES Lunging of horses is permitted in the make-up rings up to one hour before the sessions begin. Lunging is not permitted in the Show Ring at any time. Warning: Under the Michigan Equine Activity Liability Act, an equine activity sponsor or equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in an equine activity resulting from an inherent risk of the equine activity. GOLF CARTS & SCOOTERS All drivers must be licensed and must not exceed the seating capacity of the vehicle. No golf carts are allowed to be driven in any building during horse show hours (8:00 a.m. to Midnight), except on move in and out days. No roller blades or skate boards are allowed on the horse show grounds. Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and /or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer (s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. LIABILITY The Michigan All Morgan Horse Show, MJMHA, AMHA, USEF and Michigan State University will in no way be held responsible for any loss or damage that may occur and furthermore it will be a condition of entry that each exhibitor, trainer, owner, rider, groom and/or agent shall hold the horse show and its management blameless for any loss or accident to his or her horses that may occur from sickness, accident or any other cause. Additionally, The Michigan All Morgan Horse Show, MJMHA, AMHA, USEF and Michigan State University will not be held responsible for any article of any kind that may be lost, destroyed, or stolen and will not be responsible or liable for injury sustained in any way to exhibitors, employees, spectators, or any other interested parties. 20 5

OFFICE PROCEDURES HOURS The Show Secretary s Office hours will be posted at the show office which is located off of the aisle behind the Pavilion seating. The Secretary s Office will be closed for the hour preceding the start of each session. Morning classes must be entered the prior evening. Map to the MSU Pavilion Located on the corner of Farm Lane and Mt Hope 4301 Farm Lane, East Lansing POST ENTRIES Post entries received after May 4, 2018 will be charged a one time late fee of $30.00 per horse. Post entries must be made at least one hour prior to the session in which the class will be contested. No additional charge will be made for entries in Championship classes, however, the entry must be placed at least one hour before the start of the session in which it is shown. Dressage post entries will be accepted based upon availability. PRIZE MONEY All prize money will be paid by check and mailed to winners at the address on the entry blank within 30 days of the show. Prize money will be paid to the Owners. REFUNDS Exhibitors cancelling entries in writing prior to the closing date of entries shall be entitled to have entry fees returned. Option Classes There will be 5 Option Classes available. Each of these are For Sale so to speak! Any USEF Morgan class that is not in our schedule is available to be an Option Class. This is done on a first come basis. Consult the Prize List before selecting an Option Class. If the class is in the show schedule than that class may NOT be selected as an Option Class. Option Classes are to be used as qualifying classes only. An Option Class my be requested by submitting the Option Class Request Form on the bottom of the page.
