Scheduled stops are mandatory for all. See the table above for scheduled stops. Each stop will be for a maximum of 15 minutes.

PELOTON INFORMATION The first start of the event is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. Departures are organized by successive waves of pelotons according to their distance and speed. Access to the start is permitted from designated access points only. Signage will identify the pelotons by numbers 1 through 11 and their respective colour codes. IMPORTANT: It is important to be at the starting point of your peloton s departure a minimum of 15 minutes before your official start. The organization is committed to providing accurate timing for each participant. You can help us achieve this by starting with the peloton in which you are signed up. The organization does not guarantee individual and intermediate times for participants who do not follow these instructions. The bracelet provided in the participant's kit must be worn at all times during the event for access to the various facilities and services.

PELOTON AND EVENT INFORMATION Timed zones Three of the routes (80 km, 160 km, 125 km) will have timed zones. They are designed so that participants can measure their performance and obtain their individual time and ranking on pre-established sections of the course. One timed zone for the 80 km course (at 35.2 km) Two timed zones for the 125 km and 160 km courses (at 35.2 and 94.5 km) Lateral markings allow riders to easily locate the beginning and end of these zones. An audible signal will be given by the motorcycles and lead cyclists in each peloton. An informal ranking will be established for each peloton. The results will be announced at the end of the event and posted online at: https://www.ms1timing.com/ It s the symbol of triumph in the Gran Fondo Mont-Tremblant that participants dream of wearing: the coveted polka-dot jersey for fastest rider in the MONTÉES challenge! How it works: Jerseys will be awarded to the fastest riders (women and men) in these zones from each peloton in the following categories: 160 km Super Fondo Peloton 2 Average speed (between 28 and 30 km/hr) 125 km Gran Fondo Peloton 1 Average speed (between 32 and 34 km/hr) 80 km Medio Fondo Peloton 5 Average speed over 30 km/hr For the 125 km and the 160 km, rankings will be determined from the combined results of the two timed zones.

CODE OF CONDUCT The Gran Fondo Mont-Tremblant production team works closely with Sûreté du Québec, the Mont- Tremblant police service, and Quebec s Department of Transportation. Organizers are privileged to hold an event of this kind, and safety is crucial to its longevity. We ask for your full cooperation in complying with participation regulations. Here is the typical formation of each peloton. First aid SQ bike Organizer s vehicle Cyclists EMC bike SQ bike Each peloton will be supervised by the Sûreté du Québec and the Police Service of Mont-Tremblant. Official cars and motorcycles will drive at the front and back of each peloton to control pace and speed. A team of motorcyclists and commissioners will be present on each route to ensure proper and safe management of pelotons. Cyclist escorts will be appointed for each pack to ensure clear communication with other participants. The lead cyclists will also assist and encourage the group during the ride. IMPORTANT: Participants will be asked to ride two or three abreast. Cyclists must stay in the right lane only (between the yellow centerline and the white shoulder line). At no time are riders allowed to overtake the official motorcycle in front of the peloton.

CODE OF CONDUCT Peloton speeds Speeds associated with each peloton represent the average speed over the entire route. Some sections will be faster and some slower. The motorcycles will set the best rolling speed depending on the terrain to suit the majority of the group. The goal of the ride is group participation and encouragement. An experienced rider will sit as passenger on the motorcycle at the head of each peloton to regulate the pack s speed. Riders should be alert to instructions given by the lead bike and the lead cyclists in each group. They have authority over the group. If they observe behavior that could put participants at risk, they are instructed to notify the rider(s) to comply with peloton etiquette. Failure to comply may result in expulsion from the group by a commissioner or the race director. Riders who have trouble keeping pace will have two (2) options: 1. Ride individually outside the designated pelotons (behind the following vehicles), continue riding on the shoulder of the road, abide by all road rules: https://saaq.gouv.qc.ca/en/road-safety/modestransportation/bicycle/ **Cyclists outside the peloton are no longer secured by organization vehicles 2. Wait for the next peloton to pass and join that group at a slightly lower average speed. Peloton tightening: Riders in a peloton frequently spread out or string out, but this violates the security regulations of the Sureté du Québec and the Ministry of Transportation. To control spreading, peloton-tightening zones have been created on each route. A sound signal will be given in these zones by the motorcycle at the head of the peloton; lead cyclists will then notify the riders. FINISH The finish line is at Place des Voyageurs at the resort; a controlled speed will be observed at this point. This is an opportunity to congratulate and welcome all cyclists. Cyclists must cross the finish timing line before 3:00 p.m. to get an official time at the end of their ride. All cyclists in the Gran Fondo Mont-Tremblant are invited to the participants lunch at Chalet des Voyageurs and Quartier Tremblant Base Camp. A full meal will be served, along with entertainment and beverages (cash bar). Friends and family can take part in the festivities and can get a coupon for lunch at the entrance. The cost is $20 (taxes included), payable in cash only.

DROPPING OUT OF THE RIDE Support vehicle: The support vehicle will drive each route at the minimum speed set by the organization. Cyclists or a group of cyclists who are passed by the vehicle will be declared outside time limit. These riders may then: 1. Under unprotected conditions and their own responsibility, complete the course in compliance with the Highway Safety Code (CSR) to the finish line, and on their own. 2. Allow the support vehicle to drive them to the finish line. Mechanical Issues: **Participants must have their personal minimum repair equipment. Please note that this service is intended to fix minor problems with your bike (flat tire, adjustment, etc.), and not to make major repairs. Please arrive with a bike in excellent working order. Mechanic support teams will be posted along the entire course. If a participant has a flat tire or a mechanical issue, they must stop on the right side of the road and raise an arm. The peloton leaders will be informed and send a mechanical teams (expect a delay). The cyclist can then complete the course or wait and join the next peloton. Medical assistance Mobile first aid teams will be posted along the entire course to provide assistance to participants in need. Please note that the regular 911 service remains available. FQSC insurance and sanction Your day license is included with your registration for the Gran Fondo Mont-Tremblant, an event that is sanctioned by the Quebec Cycling Federation (FQSC). This provides you with liability insurance and valid accident insurance in Quebec, for the day of the event only and provided you are riding with a peloton. For more information on terms and conditions, see http://www.fqsc.net/node/250.
