The Indiana Young Birder's Club (indianayoungbirders.org) is a state wide club whose goal is to support young people and encourage them to learn to love birds and nature. The organization is run by youth with the help of an adult team. Their main activities are planning birding trips that anyone can go to. They also have a conference in the summer with talks and activities for young birders. If you want to join, there is a Fledgling group for kids up to age 11 and a Young Birder's group for youth ages 12-21. Their next outing is a trip to the Eagle Creek Ornithology Center on Saturday, December 13. Go to the website for more details.
