The non-hosting team decides what side they will play for that game. In a best of five: a. Higher (better) seeded Team must choose to act as Team A or Team B. i. Team A gets first choice of which game they would like to host. ii. Team B gets second choice of which game they would like to host. iii. Team A gets third choice of which game they would like to host. iv. Team B hosts the remaining two games. v. The Team that doesn t host a game must choose which side they will play as for that game. The non-hosting team may ask for a lag test before the start of their match. a. Players must agree on a suitable host within 10 minutes of their scheduled match. b. If no suitable host is agreed upon, referee or commissioner will have the final decision on who will be hosting. c. Delays or refusal of lag test from hosting team will result in a map forfeit by the commissioner. Player Disconnections If a player disconnects during a respawn game within the first 30 seconds of play, the hosting team must end the game. a. If hosting team does not end the game, the non-hosting team must acquire permission from the referee before leaving the game. b. If no one leaves the game, it will be assumed that the team agreed to play a player down, and no replays/punishments will be issued afterwards.
If a player disconnects during a respawn game after 30 seconds of play, the game must continue. Players can invite the player back to the game if the player is able to reconnect. a. If hosting team ends the game after 30 seconds of play, this will result in a map forfeit. b. If player is unable to reconnect, 10 minutes will be allotted in the lobby before the start of the next map for the player to rejoin. If a player disconnects within the first 30 seconds of the first round of a non-respawn game, the hosting team must end the game. If hosting team does not end the game, the non-hosting team must acquire permission from the referee before leaving the game. a. The game may continue once the disconnected player rejoins. Again, 10 minutes will be allotted in the lobby for the player to rejoin. If a player disconnects after 30 seconds of play of the first round, and after any subsequent round regardless of time, the game must continue. This is due to the possibility of players having scorestreaks. Players can invite the player back to the game if the player is able to reconnect. a. If any team leaves the game, they will forfeit the round. b. Additional rounds will be forfeited if the opposing team possesses scorestreaks. Photo proof of scorestreak(s) must be taken by players or visual confirmation from referee must be done for evidence. Commissioner will assign forfeits based on evidence provided. c. After map completion, if player is still unable to reconnect, 10 minutes will be allotted in the lobby before the start of the next map for the player to rejoin. Referee Disconnections If a referee disconnects from the match, the game can continue as long as one referee remains in the game. If there are no referees in the game due to disconnection, photo evidence of map score must be submitted to the referee in order to continue to the next map. a. If no referee is present, players must be ready to provide photo/video proof of any activity that goes against the rules. Only concrete evidence submitted to commissioner will result in punishment at their discretion. If a referee disconnects from the game and cannot rejoin after the map is completed, teams must allow 10 minutes for the referee to rejoin the lobby. If the referee disconnects a second time or cannot reconnect, another referee will be assigned. If any teams begin their series without a referee in their video call and game, the maps played will not count. Any delays caused will result in a map forfeit for the offending team.
Tie game If a map results in a tie, the map will be replayed with the same sides and settings. No Shows Players are responsible for showing up to the tournament on time, and being ready for their upcoming matches as they are pushed in the bracket. a. If the non-hosting team does not join the lobby within 15 minutes, they will forfeit the map at the discretion of the commissioner. The referee is responsible for tracking the time and sending the evidence to the commissioner. b. If the non-hosting team does not receive invites to the hosting team s lobby within 15 minutes of their match being pushed on the bracket and the referee entering the team s call, the hosting team will receive a map forfeit. The referee is responsible for tracking the time and sending the evidence to the commissioner. If by chance the assigned referee does not join the team s call and cannot be reached, the commissioner will assign a new referee. Substitutions Player substitutions are not permitted. The four player roster must be available for the entirety of the tournament. In-Game Rule Disputes Suspicion of DDOS, purposeful disconnection, ringing, or other problems must be escalated with the commissioner. There needs to be solid evidence of these claims. a. Excessive harassment/slanderous claims towards any player or staff will result in forfeit/ban depending on severity. Hosting team must have Esports Mode enabled. Esports Mode restricts the use of most banned items, but players should still be aware of the possibility of banned items making it through. If a player suspects another of using restricted items, they must signal the referee who will visually confirm this. a. Teams should not leave any game without the permission of the referee. This will result in a map forfeit by the commissioner. b. When confirmed by the referee, the team may leave, and the commissioner will enter to review and assign a forfeit to the offending team. c. Any player using restricted classes, whether the scorestreak or equipment is actually used or not, will receive a map forfeit by the commissioner.
If the hosting team starts a game with the wrong map, they may end the game within the first 30 seconds and rectify the situation without punishment. If past this time, the hosting team will receive a map forfeit. a. If the game is not ended by the hosting team, the non-hosting team must ask permission from the referee who will confirm the incorrect map is played. If granted, the commissioner will come in and assign a forfeit to the hosting team. Video Call Identity Verification Players are responsible for testing their webcam, related equipment, and internet connection before the tournament. No technical reasons will be accepted for webcams not being on. Every player and team must appear on webcam for the entirety of their match in order to confirm the player s identity. This is an anti-cheat rule in place that will not be bent for any player no matter the reason. a. Players will have 5 minutes to turn on their webcams at the moment the referee enters the call. b. The referee will take note of the time they entered, and submit evidence to commissioner when time limit is reached. At the discretion of the commissioner, this may result in a map forfeit for delaying the match. Players are responsible for being completely visible when the webcam is turned on (lighting, angle, etc.). Players may use Discord or Skype video call services, a computer webcam or their phone camera, but must let the referee know before the match starts so invites can be exchanged. If there is an outage on Discord or Skype for a player, players will have 5 minutes to start a new video call using another service and inviting the referee. Webcams being turned off during the match will be noted by referee. They will signal the player of the webcam being turned off, and the player will have 2 minutes to rectify the situation. a. Failure to turn the webcam back on will result in a map forfeit at the discretion of the commissioner. If a player disconnects from the call, but not the game, the teammates will be notified by the referee of the missing player. If the player cannot rejoin the call in 5 minutes, the missing player will be instructed by the referee to leave the game until they are able to rejoin the call. a. If the player is unable to rejoin the call within 5 minutes and must leave the game, the team can continue to play a player down, or choose to forfeit the map.
b. If the player is able to rejoin the call (with webcam on) before the end of the game, the referee will be responsible for sending a game invite, and the player may resume play. c. If the player is unable to rejoin the call, the team will have 10 minutes after the map is completed to start a new group call on another video call service with the referee present. Players may request to be on video call privately with the referee. However, this request must be done 24 hours before the start of the tournament and approved by the commissioner. Player & Referee Conduct By participating in the FPL online events, players confirm they have read and understood the Player Handbook and FPL Ruleset posted on the FPL website and FPL Discord. If anything is unclear or needs further clarification, this must be asked before the start of the tournament. a. Forfeits and bans concerning player behavior and public communications as outlined in the Player Handbook will be especially enforced this season. b. Private communications in the video call will not be monitored by the referee, however they will have the right to leave if offended or uncomfortable. A new referee may be assigned in that case. Please be respectful to the referees during their stay. They do not create the rules nor assign forfeits. The referees are trained to leave the call if they are uncomfortable or harassed in any way. FPL is dedicated to creating a toxic-free environment for the players and staff. a. This will not automatically result in a forfeit, but the commissioner will review the situation and serve punishment to any offending players. b. The match cannot start unless a referee is in the call. Maps played without a referee will not count, and delays will result in forfeits for the offending team. Players have the right to request to not have a specific referee, but must provide sufficient evidence as to why. a. The referee s gender/race/sexual orientation is not a sufficient reason to acquire a new referee. b. FPL will investigate any potential bias, and referees will be rotated (if possible) in order to avoid the creation of any bias. c. If at any time a team is having a problem with the referee during the series, they must escalate this to the commissioner. Harassment of any kind towards the referee will result in a forfeit or ban depending on severity.
Repeated Offenses & Appeals If a player is repeatedly causing delays to the matches, map forfeits will be issued by the commissioner at their discretion. Forfeits or bans will escalate in severity with each repeating offense, at the discretion of the commissioner. A team or player may appeal their ban with the commissioner during non-tournament time, but all forfeit decisions by the commissioner are final. Delays caused by unnecessary escalations during tournament-time may result in further punishment.
