Tara Schneider Completed Tasks: o Emailed youth coaches from last year o Worked with Jen to figure out coaches o Emailed all HS players to get interest for Youth coaching set up interview times o Attend Youth Board Meeting o Found HS players to help run TRY LAX event o Planned TRY LAX event o Ran TRY LAX event o Met with Jen to discuss girls season, coaches, registration etc. o Sent dozens of emails to players and families about getting registered etc. with constant communication with Jen. o Emailed with confirmed coaches about pre-season practices. 3 Committee Updates Home Tournament Director Boys (Vega/Block) o 50 teams signed up so far. U14B s bracket is full. o Ontrack to fill all spots. o Fields we will have to use both West and East facilities. o Look into doing an 8U travel tourney at Shakopee. Home Tournament Director Girls (Russell) o No further update. Away Tournament Coordinator (Mulcahy) o Boys registered out of town tournaments: 14UA -- Centennial (July 14-15) 14UB for the three B teams, two will play in Prior Lake (June 30-July 1) & one will play in Centennial (July 14-15) 12UA -- Prior Lake (June 30-July 1) 12UB Centennial (July 14-15) 10U (two teams) -- Prior Lake (June 30-July 1) o Girls registered out of town tournaments: 14UA -- Centennial (June 23-24) in A bracket, and Prior Lake (June 30- July 1) in the B bracket. 12UB, 10UB (only one team for each level) -- Prior Lake (June 30- July 1) and Centennial (June 23-24) Sponsorship Coordinator o No update. Fundraising Coordinator (Monica) o Fundraising talking to Hy-Vee and Cub Foods. Team Manager Coordinator -- Boys (Block) o Still in need of a coordinator. Team Manager Coordinator -- Girls (Bestge) o No update. Team Pictures o Tentative date = June 4. Indoor shoot with outdoor backdrop. Still waiting on Sherry @ CC for the gym to use. Amy to check with Amy if we can use West. Recruiting/Development Committee (Mulcahy/Block) o Need planning in August to plan for signs/recruitment. o Need to form this committee to focus on this. o Look to put a table for Mite Jamboree. Ron to email Troy for approval. o We should leverage the email lists for others sports excluding direct competitors (baseball, softball, soccer). o Add option for refer a friends for 6-10U. o Amy to print out Try LAX flyers include $25 coupon code. Uniform/Apparel Committee (Craig) = FULL o Lion s gave $1000 for goalie equipment for all teams. o Purchased four new goals. o Order placed. Uniforms will be discontinued at 12/31/2018. Extension of U6-U10 Registration (Boys/Girls) Parent s Meeting April 12 th 7-8pm Tryouts Website Redesign -- approximate completion 3/22 New Equipment four new nets purchased MSLax Fall Girls Tournament Shakopee. Dollars for Scholars -- $500 for boys and $500 for girls. o Presentation to the board by two members of Dollars for Scholars to participate in their scholarship program for 2018 students. o Motion made by Brian to approve $1000 total ($500 for both a boy and girl scholarship for a Shakopee LAX player. Seconded by Aaron. Approved unanimously. 14U Boys teams o Brian led discussion on the concern of having three equal B teams and how that may not maximize the upper B level kids. o Conclusion is that scores will be evaluated after tryouts to see if it warrants having a second A team. o Likely staying with one A team and three equal B teams. o Need to continue to press MSLAX to build a C level. 6 Off Season Lacrosse Sean Pollock continues his skills camps. Pre-season practices start on March 13. 7 Financial Update Paying processing fees this year to SportNgin (approx. $2500). Motion by Brian to accept February financials, seconded by Aaron.
