April Vacation Camp Parent/Child Paint Painting classes for an adult and child to be creative together. Ages: 6 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Session April 15 - May 13 Session May 27 - June 24 Wednesday 6:00-7:30pm Cost: $45.00 res/ $55.00 non-res Additional child $12.00 Youth Programs Come have fun at the Recreation Department during vacation with friends and Rec staff. Campers will participate in indoor and outdoor activities such as: arts and crafts, sports, games, free play and more! April 27 to May 1 Ages: 6-13 Camp Hours: 7:30am-9:00am Drop-off 9:00am-4:00pm Camp Hours 4:00pm-5:30pm Pick-up Cost: $90 res/ $105 non-res Daily rate: $25 res/ $35 non-res Track and Field Compete in events like the 50-meter dash, 800- meter run and standing long jump. Practice are held 2-3 times a week. A program calendar will be available at the start of the season. This program will cover lacrosse basics through skills, drills and basic game play. Sticks/ helmets/gloves/ pads required for boys and sticks/ goggles for girls. Stay & Play Hosted by: Rochester Recreation Rochester Police Department Teen Night is an evening of free sports, music, dancing and craft. Ages: 12-17 or in 6th grade 1st Saturday of the Month from October - May 6:00-9:00pm Stay & Play is a play group for children ages 1-5 years old and their parents/guardians. Parents/ guardians come and stay with their little ones for an hour of playtime and socialization. Children will jump, sing and play while parents can meet and chat with each other on the sidelines. Stay & Play instructor will facilitate simple activities like singing, group games and parachute that encourage social interaction amongst the children. Boys & Girls Youth Indoor Golf Come learn the basics of golf with the local pros of Rochester Country Club and Nippo Lake Golf Club. Beat the early spring weather with these indoor group lessons. Finish with time at the golf course. April 7 - May 12 Tuesday, U11 5pm-6pm, U14 6:15pm-7:15pm Ages: 6-14 Summer Camp Summer camp will be here before you know it! So you don t miss out, information will be available March 11, 2015. Camp registration opens April 11, 2015 for Rochester Residents at the Summer Camp Kickoff Event from 9-11am in the Community Center Gym. Summer Camp 2015 will run from June 29 to August 21, no camp on July 3rd. Additional Information Rec Talks Rochester Rec Talks are a series of lectures and informational sessions aimed at encouraging adults in our community to explore and learn about the world around them. Rec Talks cover a variety of topics and themes, all of which help to enrich quality of life through cultivating knowledge, cognitive exercise and community engagement. 3 General Program Information For all programs the registration policy can be found at or by visiting the main office. Public Roller Skating Bring your family and friends to the Rochester Arena to enjoy the favorite pastime of roller skating and rollerblading. Music will play as you cruise our full size roller rink. Bring your own skates or rent a pair of our roller blades or skates. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. April 1 - June 24 Friday, Saturday 6-7:30 & 8-9:30 Sunday 1-3pm Wednesday 6-7:30 Family & Adult Programs Show your Rochester Pride by volunteering for this city wide clean up day. Spruce up your favorite Rochester spot or ask for an assignment! Individuals and groups of volunteers are kindly asked to fill out a volunteer application. Applications can be found at or picked up in the Recreation Office located at the Rochester Community Center. No Public Roller Skating on Easter Sunday. Cost: $5/Skater (Skate rentals included.) Get Outside Enjoy one of our many playgrounds and parks around the city. The Recreation Department has playgrounds at the Common, Hanson Pines, Blair Park and Ledgeview Park. Senior Art - Painting Joy for 50+ Seniors, come join us for enjoyable time of creative painting. Wednesday 12:00-1:30pm Senior Programs Calling all senior citizens! Senior Power Hour Get out of the house and exercise your brain AND your body! There will be one hour of instructor lead, low impact exercise and mind strengthening activities. Location: Program room at the Rochester Arena Senior Yoga Learn the basics of yoga in a friendly, comfortable environment. Work with an experienced yoga instructor on stretches, poses and other yoga techniques that will help keep you healthy, happy and moving. Monday 9:00am-10:00am Senior Open Gym An hour to stretch, shoot some hoops, hit tennis balls or just walk the gym. Tuesday & Thursday 12:30-1:30pm Location: Community Center Gym Tuesday & Thursday 11:30am-12:30pm Location: Community Center Gym Senior Dance Lessons Learn to be comfortable with your dance moves and enhance them with new ones. This is a program for seniors that will consist of low impact, casual dance instruction. Working with all levels of experience. Friday 10:00am-11:00am Check in for the latest information on our other senior programs: Senior Walking Tours: Come see outdoor areas of Rochester with a casual guided walk. Trips will be planned based on season and weather. Senior Trips: Fun, social trips with your friends organized by recreation staff. 5

Concert on the Common Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the summer nights at the Rochester Common listening to live music. Thursday, July 9th at 7:00pm is the kick off by the 39th Army Band Following concerts will be on Tuesdays starting at 7:00pm Check for the schedule later this spring. Squamanagonic Disc Golf As the snow melts and spring arrives it marks the start of disc golf season. Check out the disc golf course at the Squamanagonic Recreation Area. Course layout and scorecard available at Remember Squamanagonic Recreation Area is closed on Fridays. For all closures check. Unless noted in the schedule, no program will be held on a City of Rochester Holiday Adult Volleyball Fun adult league volleyball games. Ages: 18+ May 4 - Oct 26 No league on: City holidays, 5/25, 9/7 Monday 6:00-9:00pm Cost: $66.00 - League or $4.00/night - Pick-up Location: Community Center Gym Floor Hockey When the ice is out and the sports floor is in its Floor Hockey time at the Rochester Arena! Whether you re a hockey has been or a novice, this is a great way to get active and have some competitive fun. Sign up as a team (no more than 7) or be placed on one. April 6 - informational/practice night April 13 - May 18 Monday, 7:00-9:00pm Ages: 18+ Adult Programs 6 Adult Co-ed Indoor Soccer Be active and social in this fun, indoor recreational soccer program. Drop in for a weekly session for a pick-up game either at 7 or 8pm start time. April 9 - informational/practice night April 16-May 21 Thursday, 7:00-9:00pm Ages: 18+ for all 6 weeks or $10.00/week Fun Fact! The bandstand at the Rochester Common was built in 1914 by Miles Dustin. Until the 1980 s cars would park on the common for the concert and honk their horns in appreciation. In this same area, there is a playground and picnic tables along with a nicely landscaped bench area surrounding the bandstand that allow for an enjoyable evening for a concert with the family.
