Organizing Authrity New Orleans Yacht Club, 403 N Radway Drive, New Orleans, LA 70124. 2. Rules 1. This regatta will be gverned by the 2017-2020 Racing Rules f Sailing (RRS) and Prescriptins f US Sailing. 2. GYA Regulatins fr Sanctined Events will gvern Capdevielle cmpetitin. 3. Class Rules and GYA PHRF bylaws apply t their respective classes.
4. The Mardi Gras Race Week Sailing Instructins and this Ntice f Regatta (NOR). The Sailing instructins shall gvern in the event f cnflict where applicable. Sailing Instructins will be available at the skipper's meeting. 3. Entries One Design March 18-19 Viper 640, Vanguard 15, VX One, Flying Sct (Open), Etchells, MC Scw, Finn, J/30, J/22, Rhdes 19, Melges 24, Melges 32, Hbie 33, etc. All classes Welcmed!!! All classes must have 4 bats registered by February 28, 2017 t be scred and run by RC. The winner f the largest class in this divisin is awarded the Mardi Gras Race Week perpetual trphy. PHRF Divisin February 4-5 PHRF Spinnaker & Nn-Spinnaker, PHRF Sprt Bats, PHRF Multihull Five bats are required t make a class. See PHRF Appendix t be released at a later date. 1. Registratin Registratin may be cmpleted during any registratin perid (See belw fr registratin deadlines) prir t that bat's Skipper's Meeting. Yu may register n-line at link at mardigrasraceweek.rg, r in persn.
The MGRW Cmmittee requests that skippers register early s that trphies and merchandise items may be rdered and engraved well in advance f the regatta. 2. Entry Fee The entry fee (US Funds) may be paid by credit card, cash, r club crss-charge fr members f clubs with reciprcal privileges. Refunds are available befre February 24. The entry fee is $45 befre February 24, and then rises t $85. 3. Discunts US Sailing Members may deduct $5 frm the entry fee. 4. Entry Packet Registratin fee includes a welcme packet with ne wrist band fr the skipper and up t 3 crew members (Crew is defined by the Racing Rules) t include cntinental breakfast n race days, access t all events, pen fd buffet. Additinal all-inclusive regatta wristbands which give the wearer access t all events and fd buffets can be purchased fr $20.00 each. 5. Schedule f Events An updated sailing schedule will be released as the race date appraches althugh n later than February 28, 2015. All events are held at NOYC unless therwise nted. A separate scial event schedule will be released and may be updated as warranted. Racing Dates Wednesday, 3/1 Dry strage is available t splash bats, step masts, etc.
Racing Dates Thursday, 3/2 Practice Race if scheduled, Measurement and weighing available starting fr thse classes which require it. Friday, 3/3 - Sunday 3/5 Fr Three day event bats: Skipper's Meeting Friday at 8:45 at NOYC, first warning all days at 10:00. Saturday, 3/18 - Sunday 3/19 Racing fr all ther classes except Capdeville. Skipper's Meeting: 08:45 at NOYC, First Warning at 10:00 Skipper's Meeting Saturday 3/18 at 10:30 Capdevielle First Warning Saturday 3/18: 12:00 First Warning Sunday 3/19: 10:00 Saturday 3/4 - Sunday 3/5 Racing fr all PHRF classes including sprt bats and multihulls. 6. GYA Capdevielle Five Races will be scheduled in accrdance with the Optinal Alternate Frmat as described in Appendix G f the GYA Regulatins fr Sanctined Events. Easterly 30 - Three races attempted Fr all ther classes The Race Cmmittee, at its discretin, will attempt t run as many races as pssible n each race day, unless therwise nted. N starts after 1330 n Sunday 3/5 and 3/19. 7. Scring Fr all classes The RRS Lw Pint System (RRS A4) shall be used. N scres will be excluded. One race cnstitutes a series. This changes RRS A2 8. Prizes GYA Capdevielle prizes will be awarded based n GYA Regulatins fr Sanctined Events. Daily awards will be awarded fr 1st place in each class. Overall Prizes will be awarded fr 1st, 2nd, & 3rd fr each class. Overall Prizes will be awarded n the last day f racing fr all remaining classes at the After Race Party. The Mardi Gras Race Week Perpetual Trphy is awarded t the verall regatta winner f the largest adult ne design class. Best Female Skipper and Best all Female crew (each weekend). Optimist awards will be based n age range, with first, secnd, and third places awarded t White, Blue, and Red fleet winners. In additin, there will be participatin awards fr participants in Green fleet, and regular MGRW awards fr Advanced Fleet winners. 9. Skipper's Meeting The Skipper's Meetings will be held at New Orleans Yacht Club at which time Sailing Instructins will be distributed t the entrants. A representative f each bat is asked t attend this meeting t pick up registratin packets and race changes. All crewmembers are encuraged t attend the meeting. Optimist Skipper's Meeting will be held at Suthern Yacht Club. See Schedule f Events.
10. Decisin t Race and Liability Cmpetitrs participate in the Regatta entirely at their wn risk. See RRS Rule 4, Decisin t Race. The rganizing authrity will nt accept any liability fr material damage r persnal injury r death sustained in cnjunctin with r prir t, during r after the Regatta. 11. Advertising Entrants may be required t carry event advertising as utlined in ISAF Regulatin 20.4. 12. Racing Area The racing area will be lcated n the suth shre f Lake Pntchartrain. 13. Official Ntice Bard The Ntice Bard is lcated just inside the nrth harbr entrance f NOYC. 14.
