Simon Aguirre Sam Houston High School 4451 Swan Forest San Antonio TX, 78222 210-392-1102 Dear Harlandale Family, I am writing this letter in regards to nominating Coach Carlos Wolfe into the Harlandale Hall of Fame. Coach Wolfe is not only my mentor, but a close friend. Coach Wolfe has given over 34 years of service to Harlandale ISD at Leal Middles School. Coach Wolfe, as we all know him, could be described as a leader, mentor, and role-model. His most important attribute was as a teacher to all the athletes that crossed his path. He is a man who truly loved being a part of his athlete s lives. He always put his athletes in a position to be successful. He has a relentless passion for teaching. His daily preparation towards practice can only be described as remarkable. Each practice had a goal in mind. His athletes understood that his teachings, small or large, would lead them towards success. His athletes knew where he stood and allowed him to make an impact in their lives. Impact is a strong word to use when you talk about an individual. Coach Wolfe impacted generations of athletes and students at Leal Middles School. Coach Wolfe has never been one to show what he does for his athletes. I have seen him buy shoes, feed players, give shirts, take players to games and camps, and so much more. Yet you don t see him telling others what he did. He just gives so much to his players that they just love playing for him. I really felt the impact he made when athletes come back to see him and say thank you for all he did. I am talking about men of all ages coming by and sharing their fond memories of playing for Coach Wolfe. Not only did he impact students, but colleagues as well. Working with him all those years was a blessing for me. I can truly say I am where I am because of what he taught me, but most importantly in what I observed. Coach Wolfe is a man of few words, but when you pay close attention to him, he was always teaching. He was an impact in my coaching career, but most importantly in my life. I was amazed by all the coaches who knew who he was. I am talking about high school coaches and coaches at the next two levels. Coach Wolfe has been at the same school for all these years, yet many have heard of the Legend as we know as Coach Wolfe. Thank You, Coach Simon Aguirre
