Over six decades this commitment has become a lifestyle dedicated to great customer service and conservation of our natural resources. Halley s Camps on the English River has evolved over the last 60 plus years, from the original barges at Kettle Falls, a summer tent camp at One Man Lake and an English River access point at Caribou Falls while the power dam was built. Our guests have come to know us as the family behind the quintessential Canadian fishing lodges and guest cabins that are the present day Kettle Falls Lodge, the year round luxury of One Man Lodge, the housekeeping cabins and new lodge at Caribou Falls Landing and the dozen remote, fly-in only outpost cabins scattered throughout the Canadian wilderness that we call our backyard. After starting out as teenagers, at Caribou Falls Landing, Louis and Yvonne s son Gene and his wife Wanda now oversee the head office and air charter service in Minaki as well as the outpost cabins operating under the Outpost Company name. Their two sons have joined their parents in carrying on with the family tradition. Chris, his wife Amber and their family manage the camp at Caribou Falls Landing. Rob, his wife Bev and their children can be found looking after Kettle Falls Lodge. Halley s is located on the western section of the English River and is the only outfitter on a 35 mile stretch of river. This large region of water boasts countless islands, hundreds of miles of shoreline and has the following three major tributaries: Werner, Winding and Sturgeon Rivers. The English River offers some of the best fishing in Ontario. The waters are filled with walleye, northern and smallmouth bass that have fishermen returning generation after generation. Kettle Falls Lodge At the edge of the wilderness on the English River you ll find a building of hand hewn logs called Kettle Falls Lodge. Accessible by boat or float plane, this all-inclusive lodge is a first class retreat nestled into the heart of Northwestern Ontario. Your hosts Rob and Bev have years of experience in the hospitality business. You can be assured they will do whatever it takes to give you the best fishing vacation they can. Bev s home-cooked mouth watering meals, cookies and pies will have you tempted to stray from your diet. The coffee is always hot and the cookie jar is always full. The bar in the lodge and on the patio are well-stocked with your favorite brands and any special requests are just a phone call away. Our fleet of fishing boats is incredible with new 18 Lund Alaskan boats customized by Halley s Camps. They are very comfortable, spacious to fish from, and have new motors on them that are quiet and fuel efficient. If you would like to use our guide services, we have a team of experienced outdoorsmen who will guide you to the best fishing spots on the river. At noon, your guide will
build a fire and cook you a memorable feast of fresh walleye with Canadian maple cream cookies for dessert. In the evening, after your day in the boat, you will be able to enjoy fishing off the dock, kayaking, throwing a game of horseshoe, badminton, Bocca ball, strolling the walking trails or taking in the picturesque sunset amid the woods in Northwestern Ontario. In our conference/game room there is satellite TV, couches to unwind on, and free Wi-Fi Internet available from your personal computer. Our eight cabins are very comfy and well appointed. Each bedroom has twin beds, its own 4 piece bathroom, and crisp linens. The sitting area features a table and chairs, a small fridge for your beverages, and a warming pellet stove if you need to chase away the evening chill. Whether you are a fishing party of 2 or a group of 45 friends, colleagues, or family members, Kettle Falls invites you to come and stay in your home away from home.
One Man Lake Lodge This lake is so large and unpopulated that it must have received its name on one of its busier days. This all-inclusive lodge has been designed to cater to your every need. Meals, accommodations, maid service, boats and gas are all included in your package. Your hosts at One Man Lake Lodge will ensure that your trip will become an annual one. Guides are available for those who prefer to have someone else operate the boat while they re busy catching fish. But you don t absolutely need a guide at One Man, there are lots of easy to find fishing spots for the do-ityourselfer fisherman. Built with local timber, our lodge s amenities include two game rooms, pool table, horseshoe pit, shuffle board, darts, card table, sauna and free Wi-Fi internet available from your personal computer. Eight luxurious guests rooms are contained in the main lodge. Each room has two comfy beds
and an ensuite bathroom. Every room also features a patio door allowing you access to the wraparound decks. All of our guest quarters are designed to provide every comfort you need, including a beautiful view of the wilderness outside your window, especially effective at soothing the soul. There is nothing better than relaxing in our main lodge while having a cocktail and swapping stories with friends after a great day on the water. New luxuriously equipped Lund fishing boats customized by the Halley s sit at the dock, waiting to take you out on a trip you will remember for the rest of your life. These 18 Lund Alaskan boats are comfortable to fish out of and come equipped with new 50h.p. motors.
