The competition course has been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4). The water depth is a minimum of 8 feet to 16 feet. Warm-up/warm-down lanes available at all times. Eight (8) lanes will be swum at a time during competition. RULES: Current United States Swimming rules will govern the conduct of the meet. Southeastern Swimming safety guidelines and warm up procedures will be in effect. The use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms, locker rooms, or from behind the starting blocks. Deck changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or rest rooms is prohibited. In the interest of safety and accident prevention, coaches and swimmers are asked to observe all posted pool rules and facility rules referred to in this meet information and to conduct themselves in a safe and prudent manner. Swim Birmingham YMCA will not accept responsibility for anyone who climbs to an unsafe height for any reason. WARM-UP AND START TIMES: Saturday and Sunday warm-ups at 8:00-8:50 am with competition beginning at 9:00 am. All warm-ups for Saturday and Sunday will be open. Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. Southeastern Swimming Safety Guidelines and Warm-up Procedures will be in effect at this meet. All times are Central Daylight Time. SAFETY: In the interest of safety and accident prevention, spectators, coaches and swimmers are asked to observe all posted pool rules and to conduct themselves in a safe manner. Only meet officials, meet volunteers, coaches and swimmers will be allowed on the pool deck. Nobody will be allowed to climb on the diving boards or diving towers for any reason. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms. ELIGIBILITY: All teams must be invited and all coaches allowed on deck must be a coach in good standing with an invited team. All swimmers must be USA Swimming registered. No entry will be accepted without current USA Swimming registration number. There will be no USA Swimming registration on deck. Coaches and officials must show and display certification as required by USA Swimming. Coaches shall present USA Swimming Coaches card or deck pass to be allowed on deck. Please check in with security person before entering pool deck. A swimmer s age on the first day of the meet will determine their age for the entire meet. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in racing starts, or they must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer, or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. ENTRIES: The meet will be limited based on a four hour time line for Saturday and Sunday. Teams are urged to submit entries using HYTEK s Team Manager program via email. A computer printout of entries with the event numbers and event description must accompany the team check with events in published
order. Teams without Team Manager must use enclosed entry forms. Entries are to be listed in long course meters or NT. Swimmers should be entered with their best long course meters time. Entries will be based off of the digital HYTEK file. If there is a discrepancy between the digital and printed entries, the digital information will be used. A psych sheet will be posted for review after the entry deadline. Once seeded, events will not be reseeded. If SBY is found to have made an error, the swimmer will be deck entered in an open lane in the heat closest to his/her seed time, or in any other heat. The event will not be reseeded. Entries will open on April 1st at 9:00 am CDT and close on April 26 th at 11:59 pm or when session limits have been reached. All swimmers may enter a maximum of 4 individual events per day for both Saturday and Sunday. We will be limiting the meet to the first 300 participants. We reserve the right to limit the number of heats for distances 400 meters and up. The 800m Freestyle and 400 IM will be limited to swimmers ages 11 & over. Heats will not be added to the meet. Events will not be reseeded. If due to Swim Birmingham YMCA error, the swimmer will be deck entered into an open lane of the heat nearest his/her entry time or in a new heat. The entire event WILL NOT be reseeded. Vestavia Hills, AL 35216 SEEDING: All events will be seeded according to all applicable USA Swimming rules. Seed times will be times in Long Course Meters entered on the entry form. Entries with no time (NT) will be seeded by random draw. Notification of scratches will be appreciated in case lanes are needed for late entries. All events will be seeded mixed gender and mixed age groups, solely based on time. The 400 Free, 400 IM, and 800 Free will be swum fast to slow. We reserve the right to limit any event as necessary due to the session limitations. There will be a 5 minute break before the 800 Free on Sunday. Teams will be notified if any events have been limited as stated above. The courses and events will be split or combined at the discretion of the meet referee in the interest of running the most efficient meet.
