Specific legal regulations are in place to ensure the control of all issues relating to the trade, classification and marking of detonating cords. The product, if misused or subject of forbidden manipulations, may pose explosion risk resulting in heavy bodily injury or even death. 2.1 Explosion Risk Expl. 1.1, H201 There is risk of explosion due to impact, friction or influence of fire and other energy factors. Decomposition of the explosive is occurring in the temperature above 140 C. P405 - Store locked up. 2.3 Fire hazard The burning of small quantities take place safely on open space. Combustion of small amounts of the cord in closed spaces or combustion of large amounts of the cord cause move into detonation. The fire is able to arise as the secondary effect of the explosion also. 2.4 Toxicological hazard The detonating cord used in accordance to the destination and instruction for use is causing no consequences and it does not contain toxic components. In case of intoxication by after-dump gases take the injured person off the place and call medical service Skin contact: in case of direct contact with PETN wash skin with water and soap. If irritation occurs or feel unwell consult physician. Eye contact: Ingestion: in case of direct contact with PETN wash with plenty water for at least 15 minutes with copious amount of cold water, running water at best (avoid strong jet of water due to the risk of mechanical damage to the eye) and call medical assistance. call a medical assistance. Special protective equipment during the rescue operation: it is necessary to dress the protective, gastight clothing with the apparatus isolating the respiratory tract. 6 ACCIDENTAL RELEASE TO ENVIRONMENT Personal precautions: keep away from ignition source, prevent from shock or friction, and avoid skin or eye contact. Environmental precautions: avoid dispersion in soil, sewer and river, in case of rain keep released product dry. Methods for cleaning up: take away product manually and fill it in closed container, use non-sparkling and non-metallic tools, keep away unauthorized persons, warn about explosion danger. Storage: in authorized warehouse according federal law, suitable for Class 1.1D, keep locked up, do not smoke and keep away from ignition source, temperature of storage - depends of kind cord (information available on label): Detonating cords have to be stored in warehouses in compliance with valid regulations, in the temperature range: a) from 0 ºC up to + 45 ºC for: CORDTEX 6N, CORDTEX 10N, NITROCORD 6 - N, NITROCORD 8, NITROCORD 10, b) from 20 ºC up to +50 ºC for: CORDTEX 12N, CORDTEX 20N, CORDTEX 40N, CORDTEX 80N, CORDTEX 100N, ROWOCORD 12, ROWOCORD 25 c) from 30 ºC up to +50 ºC for: SEICORD 6g, SEICORD 10g, SEICORD 12g, SEICORD 15g, SEICORD 20g, SEICORD 40g, SEICORD 60g, SEICORD 70g, SEICORD 80g, SEICORD 100g. In the case of swallowing: degreasing the arterial blood's pressure and pulses and headaches, the syncope, weakness. In the case of the contact with eyes: can be reason of irritation, In the case of the contact with the skin or mucous membranes: be able to cause local reddening. Symptoms of severe poisoning: PETN is be able a reason reddening of the skin (especially a face), with the feeling hot, the headache, mawkishness, the sting in the throat, stomach ache; degreasing of the blood-pressure which is able to the collapse, body's vibrations, respiratory disturbance, and in special cases of death.
