Old Thorns offers a challenging test of golf for all levels of golfer. The magnificent Peter Alliss-designed championship golf course sits on the borders of Hampshire, Surrey and the South Downs National Park. The course offers stunning views from many of the elevated tees and will provide you with an unforgetable experience for years to come. Its history is illustrious as it was opened in 1982 by Seve Ballesteros, Jack Nicklaus, Isao Aoki and Bill Rogers. Aoki shot an opening round of 69, which is still the course record today and the scorecards can be viewed in the sports bar. Proshop Located to the right hand side of reception as you walk towards the hotel from the carpark, staff at the Old Thorns Proshop are more than happy to assist with tee time bookings, golf equipment rentals and general information regarding the championship golf course. We also carry a huge range of clothing, bags, balls and accessories, ideal for your last minute golf needs as well as for taking back home. All golfers are required to check in here ahead of their round of golf. Golf Guest Services We are very excited and proud to introduce our new golf liaison, Thomas Lowery. Thomas is dedicated to making your stay as comfortable as possible and to look after you and your group whilst out on the course. Golf Starters The Old Thorns starters are here to make your first tee experience one not to forget. Offering advice on how to play the course and essential information on the day our dedicated starters will ensure your round gets off to the right start. Golf Lessons Whether you are a beginner or an advanced golfer, our professional team are on site to assist your game. Club Fitting From the wide range of clubs available, matching you with the right playing equipment is vital to help your golf game. Ensure your clubs suit your game and ask us for a club fitting. Driving Range and Putting Green No golf course would be complete without its putting green and driving range. With multiple yardage targets to aim at, the range at Old Thorns will allow you the opportunity to warm up before you go out.
