LOCATION Located just 10 miles north of Livingston, Montana and 45 miles from Bozeman, Montana. It is the cultural center of South-central Montana. HISTORY OF AREA Park County is the original gateway to Yellowstone National Park. The Yellowstone River flows south to north through the county - turning east at Livingston. The county is rich with history and legend. There is evidence of continual habitation, dating back at least 11,500 years, in The Myers-Hindman site and another Paleo-Indian site known as the Clovis Culture. The Shoshoni can be identified in Park County about 1,000 A.D. after having moved north from Mexico. The Crow arrived in the area in the1600 s originating in the Midwest. In more modern times William Clark spent the night in what is now Livingston. John Bozeman was ambushed and died about10 miles east of town, and Calamity Jane maintained a home here. 2

WILDLIFE AND FISHERY Big Game hunting in this area of Montana is excellent for all kinds of big game animals including trophy Elk and Mule Deer. The fishing on this stretch of the Yellowstone River is the very best in the state; it is considered a Blue Ribbon section of the River. Antelope, deer and Hungarian partridge abound on this particular property. RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES There are numerous outdoor recreational activities in the area including Hiking, Biking, Fishing, Hunting, Backpacking, ATV/Motorcycle Riding, Camping/Picnicking, Golfing, Horseback Riding, White Water Rafting, Wildlife viewing, Skiing and Snowmobiling. Cross country skiing is a favorite winter activity in Yellowstone National Park and one of Montana s most popular ski resorts, Bridger Bowl, offers downhill skiing plus miles of cross-country ski trails and is less than an hour drive from the property. The famous Big Sky Ski resort is only an hour and a half drive.
