NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF EMERGENCY REGULATIONS OF ALASKA BOARD OF GAME On September 2, 2014, the commissioner of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, under a delegation of authority from the Board of Game issued under Alaska Statute 16.05.270, adopted as emergency regulations changes in Title 5 of the Alaska Administrative Code dealing with hunting seasons and bag limits for dark geese, including the following: 5 AAC 85.065(a)(4) was repealed and readopted to reorganize the provisions in the paragraph and to include the following changes: 1. Dark geese regulations are reorganized into separate provisions for Canada geese (including cackling geese) and White-fronted geese. 2. In Unit 18, White-fronted geese daily bag and possession limits are increased to eight per day and 24 in possession. 3. A registration permit and having your geese checked is no longer required in order to hunt Canada/cackling geese in Units 6(B), 6(C), and on Hinchinbrook and Hawkins Islands in Unit 6(D). The emergency regulations took effect September 2, 2014 and will expire December 30, 2014. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game intends to make the emergency regulations permanent. These regulations correct and replace the similar emergency regulations filed on August 27, 2014 that became effective on August 31, 2014. You may comment on the regulation changes, including the potential costs to private persons of complying with the changes, by submitting written comments to Dan Rosenberg, Waterfowl Coordinator, at Alaska Department of Fish and Game, 525 W. 67 th Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska 99518. The comments must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on October 24, 2014. Written comments received are public records and are subject to public inspection.
