CHEQUES TO BE MADE PAYABLE TO M R GORMAN. No entries will be accepted without fees and no late entries will be accepted. A registered teacher must sign all entries. Age to be taken from 1 January 2018. The Adjudicator s decision is final. BEGINNERS AND PRIMARY COMPETITIONS ARE OPEN TO ALL REGIONS. DANCERS IN THESE GRADES MUST WEAR A CLASS COSTUME OR SKIRT AND TOP. Beginners are open to dancers who have never won a 1st placed medal in that particular dance in any age group and must dance basic steps. Primary competitions are open to dancers who have never won a 1st place in that particular dance in any age group. Intermediate competitions are open to dancers who have never won a 1st place in that particular dance in their present age group. Beginner and Primary Trophy Reel competitions are only open to those who have danced in the respective Reel competitions and have not previously won a Trophy Reel competition in any age group. Intermediate Trophy Reel competitions are open to dancers who have danced in the Intermediate Reel on the day and have not previously won an Intermediate Reel competition in their present age group. If there are 5 or less competitors in any Beginner, Primary or Intermediate competition this will not count for grading purposes. However a dancer may only win 3 such competitions and then move to the next grade. If there are 15 or more competitors in any Beginner Competition, the 1st,2nd and 3rd placed dancers will move up to the next grade. If there are less than 15 only the 1st placed will count. With the exception of U6 and U7 and dancer who has won an Open Championship must dance in the open grade in the calendar year in which this was won. Any dancer in U6 or U7 age group, who has previously won an Open Championship, must dance Open for the dances performed in the Championship. They may dance their other

Special Premier Competitions are confined to dancers who have never won a Special Premier, Open Premier, Preliminary Championship or Open Championship. A dancer must compete in at least 2 solo competitions (one Light dance and one Heavy dance, if applicable) to be eligible to dance in Special Premier Competitions. If less than 5 in any Special Premier Competition, the competition will be combined into a two yearly age group. To be eligible to dance in a Preliminary Championship (OPEN TO DANCERS FROM ALL REGIONS), a dancer must not have won an Open Championship in any age group, excluding Under 6 and under 7 Championships. If a dancer has qualified for the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP (as a solo competitor) in the previous 12 months, he/she is not eligible to dance in PRELIMINARY CHAMPIONSHIPS. A dancer can win ONE Preliminary Championship in a calendar year (Jan-Dec) - the following year they will be eligible to compete again in a Preliminary Championship. Preliminary Championships will be held in yearly age groups provided there are 5 or more dancers. If there are less than 5, they will be held in double year age groups. Preliminary results do not affect grade status. If there are 3 or more boys, then there will be separate Championships. Teams may contain up to 75% from a younger age group. Dancers may only dance in one team, in the same age group (i.e.1x 2 hand). Competitors must be present when their age group is called otherwise they may lose their right to dance. All trophies are perpetual challenge trophies and must be returned when requested. The recipient is responsible for any loss or damage to trophies whilst in their possession. Any objections to be made in writing and handed to the Secretary with a fee of 5-00 within one hour of the competition. If the objection is sustained, the fee will be refunded. No video, digital camera, digital phone camera or flash photography is to be used in the Halls during competitions. Mobile phones and electronic games must be switched off in the dancing areas. No hairspray or aerosols are to be used in the dancing areas. No alcohol should be brought onto the premises with the

23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 intent to consume. Prizes will be awarded in accordance with an Coimisiun rules. TROPHIES TO BE AWARDED TO TOP 5 PLACES IN ALL OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS. The feis organisers reserve the right to cancel or amend any competitions. Teachers will be notified of any changes. No smoking is permitted anywhere in the building. Dancers must be suitably dressed at all times. No changing is permitted in the competition halls. The feis organisers will provide a surface suitable for dancing. However the organisers cannot accept any liability for injury sustained whilst on stage. The lodgement of an entry will be deemed acceptance of this. ALL NORTH EAST TEACHERS MUST PROVIDE A COPY OF THEIR ENTRIES TO THE RECORDS CLERK BY THE CLOSING DATE, FOR RECORD PURPOSES. IF THIS IS NOT ADHERED TO, THE NORTH EAST REGIONAL COUNCIL WILL IMPOSE A 20-00 FINE. Any competitor found to be using artificial carriage aids, and subsequently refusing to remove them, will be subject to disqualification from that particular competition. Medically prescribed apparatus (proof of which may be required) will be exempt from this ruling. The use of make-up is not permitted in Beginner and Primary grades up to and including the under 12 age group. Make up (including false eyelashes and tanner on the face) will not be permitted for any dancer, in either solo or team competitions, up to and including the under 10 age group. No block, en pointe movements, stationary or moving, are allowed to be performed for all ages up to and including the Under 12 Age Group worldwide. However, dancers, who are moving into the Under 13 Age Group in January, will be permitted to do block/en Pointe work from September 1st of the year prior to this date. The feis committee may modify, alter or cancel any arrangement in the syllabus as is deemed necessary, subject to approval of the North East Regional Council.
