Cryogen Dispenser Directions for Use www.cryogendispenser.com
Step 1 Connect the end of the black ringed hose (that doesn t have the 2 inch long adapter fitting) to the particular side of the Transfer Dispenser that has the black ring this is because of the necessary flow direction of the patented internal filtration system. Connect the other end of the black ringed hose (that has the 2 inch long adapter fitting) to the 30 lb R134a container. DO NOT yet open the flow valve on the 30 lb container. The 2 inch long adapter fitting attached to the end of the black ringed hose is necessary for most 30 lb containers out there (Sam s Club particularly). If your hose won t screw onto your 30 lb container, you need to take the 2 inch long adapter off your hose end & the hose will connect directly to that particular type of 30 lb container. Darryl Louis CEO Cryogen Dispenser Step 2 Connect the hose end with the white ring to the side of the Transfer Dispenser that has the white ring. Make sure that the brass regulator valve connected to the other end of the hose with the white ring is CLOSED (closed is clockwise) before connecting the regulator onto the top of your cryogen canister. Connecting the regulator valve is easiest by holding it straight with even pressure downward while twisting the cryogen container under it. Don t over or under tighten and don t cross thread it. Cross threading is when you force tighten something that is not evenly aligned and the threads are pressured. It strips the threads which in time makes them unusable.
Step 3 CRYOGEN CANISTERS WILL FILL ONLY IF YOUR 30 LB CONTAINER IS WARMER THAN THE CANISTER, UPSIDE DOWN AND HIGHER THAN THE CANISTER. TO ACCOM- PLISH THIS: WRAP THE INCLUDED HEATING BLANKET ALL THE WAY AROUND THE 30LB CONTAINER. USE THE VELCRO STRAPS TO KEEP AS MUCH OF THE BLANKET TOUCHING THE CONTAINER AS POSSIBLE THIS IS PARAMOUNT (SEE PHOTO)! This causes the gas to expand & want to escape TO the small, cooler canister. Even though extremely rare, if ever you get the gas a little too warm and the laser keeps asking you to purge, it will just take a few minutes for the gas to cool down enough to eliminate the purge problem. Also, you can purge it a few dozen times if necessary. BACK UP FILLING METHOD: First put an empty canister in a freezer for 60-90 minutes. When removing the canister from the freezer, don t handle it with warm hands use gloves. A cold canister wants to suck the gas in from the warmer, larger container. Slowly open the valve on the 30 lb container listening to see if you have any leaks at your connections. If you do have a leak, close the valve on the 30 lb container and tighten the leaking connection. If all your hoses are correct and you hear no leaks, you should OPEN the brass regulator valve atop your cryogen container (counter-clockwise) and you should hear it begin to fill. By using the heating blanket, the canisters take 5-30 minutes to fill. NOTE: THE HEATING BLANKET AUTO- MATICALLY SHUTS ITSELF OFF AFTER AN HOUR, AFTER WHICH TIME THE CRYOGEN WILL ESCAPE BACK INTO THE LARGE CONTAINER. Before disconnecting a full container, CLOSE the regulator valve (clockwise). Blanket Wrap CAUTION: Heating blanket has a plug type for US Electricity; if you are in another country, you may need an adapter.
Step 4 After filling the container, if it feels extremely full when you shake it (i.e., you can t feel the liquid move), or if it is leaking out its overflow valve (next to the neck), it is recommended to empty a little bit out (you should do this with the same purge valve you use to empty containers before you dispose of them). This is to prevent the laser from asking you to purge because it may erroneously sense a pressure issue. It is quicker and easier to solve a possible purge issue before it happens simply by emptying the very full container for a few seconds or so. If you get a container that you cannot get to quit leaking from its overflow valve, use up the gas in that leaking canister first, then throw it away. If any canister develops any discoloration around its valves, you must throw it away otherwise rust gets into your system. Included are a couple extra hose gaskets that go inside the ends of the hoses and fittings. The one that sometimes needs to be replaced is inside the adapter fitting that attaches to the 30 lb container. You can prevent this gasket from going bad by making sure your fitting is snug before turning on the valve and by not having valves open when disconnecting. Leaving a cryogen container filling over night could result in a 30 lb container emptying entirely if all of your connections aren t snug. BUYING 30LB CONTAINERS: SAM S CLUB (ITEM # 86244) OR CALL Eric at 407-896- 9563 or BRETT: 562-595-7645. NOTE: SAMS CLUB DOESN T SELL R134 ONLINE. CAUTION: If you determine you have a leak, make sure to close the main valve (on the 30 lb container) immediately and avoid exposing your skin and lungs to the leaking Cryogen because overexposure can cause frost bite or breathing irregularities. If you need to close the valve because the fitting closest to it is leaking, use gloves or a cloth towel so as to prevent frost bite on your hands.
