Happy 2018! I hope you all survived the cold winter and are getting ready for golf season to begin The board is excited about our 2018 schedule of events I want to congratulate all of you who participated in our 2017 events KWGA is not just about trophies and champions but about the camaraderie and our love for the game Congratulations to our 2017 KWGA Cup winner Joan Lucas and our 2017 Genevieve Gilmore recipient Mary Godfrey Both of these ladies have made significant contributions to KWGA for many years and we are all grateful for their service and participation Our season kicks off with a repeat of the spring membership drive at the Moors on April 21 st (hopefully without a repeat in the weather) This is a preseason scramble and opportunity for KWGA members to bring a guest; the cost is $40 Guests who sign up that day to become a new member of KWGA will pay a reduced rate of $25 for the year Members who bring a guest and all guests will be eligible for a drawing for two $50 gift cards to the Moors Pro Shop We are excited to hold our first One Day event at Battle Creek Country Club on FRIDAY May 11 th Please remember you must have your membership dues of $35 paid to play in our oneday events and a current handicap index Advance reservations are required for one day events and for this Friday start you will need to have those reservations into Donna starting Mon April 30 th and closing Friday May 4 th All other one days will take place on Mondays and reservations close the Monday prior to the event Please help those volunteering to run these events by honoring the deadlines The annual meeting this year at Angels Crossing on September 10 th will be a time to vote on changes the board has proposed to the constitution and the bylaws Those changes will be sent out for your review closer to the annual meeting I am looking forward to seeing all of you at our events this year and hope to see many new faces at the Moors Jayme Heimonen 2018 KWGA President
