SEPTEMBER2016 All Churchill residents are members of the Junior Common Room (JCR), and pay a JCR subscription as part of their accommodation fee. The subscription gives you access to use all the facilities of the JCR, including the Junior Common Room itself, its snooker and pool tables, and the JCR bar. Subscription fees also go towards the events that the committee organises over the year, from welcome events to fitness groups and the popular Valentine s Ball and end of year Garden Party. The JCR committee is elected by all Churchill residents to organise social activities and events on their behalf. A new committee begins work in the first term and continues into the next academic year to welcome new residents. The committee has a President and includes three members of the Bar Committee and two representatives who sit on the Hall Committee. If you have any feedback for housekeeping or catering staff or want to raise an issue to the Hall Committee, you can do this through your JCR representatives. The current JCR Committee have been in post since the middle of October 2015. They have been working hard to plan all the entertainment events for your Welcome Week which include all daytime and evening activities either organised completely by the JCR or selected by the committee from the Student Union event offering.
