While some breeds reduce the points awarded for USEF HOTY awards, the Arabian division awards the same number of points whether it s a regular or local competition. Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF rule book will be conducted and judges in accordance therewith. Attendants will be allowed only after being called by the judge or ringmaster. 9 AHA & USEF AFFIDAVITS: The show will no longer accept Affidavits for membership in AHA or USEF in accordance with AHA & USEF rules. AHA MEMBERSHIP: All owners, trainers, riders, drivers and handlers must have a competition level membership in order to compete at an AHA sanctioned show or pay a non-member single event membership (SEM) fee of $35.00 per show. ALCOHOL: It is unlawful for any person or organization to bring alcoholic beverages upon the premises. All alcohol must be purchased through the Champions Grill & Bakery bar located in the dining area. ARRIVAL INFORMATION: 12 p.m. the day before the show starts for the Fall Show. All horses must depart no later than 12 p.m. Monday. Anyone wishing to arrive early must make arrangements with the show manager prior to arrival. A $20.00 per stall per day fee will be charged for early arrival and or late departure. Exhibitor intending on staying over Sunday night must advise the show manager. Attention Competitors: Each Competitor is responsible for supplying management with the correct association numbers (USEF and AHA) for horse, owner, rider and trainer, before the day of the competition. The scores of competitors who fail to supply correct numbers may not count toward national awards. BAD CHECKS & CREDIT CARD: All checks and credit cards sent with entries will be cashed upon receipt. Non- Negotiable check & credit card fees: There will be a $100.00 charge for all returned checks and credit cards per occurrence. Parties who do not respond with full payment including $100 fee within 7 days of being notified of such incident will be reported to AHA and USEF. BEDDING: SHAVINGS MUST BE ORDERED THRU THE SHOW. NO BEDDING WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE BROUGHT IN BY EXHIBITORS. Anyone found to violate this rule will be fined $50.00 per stall. Shavings will be available at fair market price and must be purchased from the supplier on grounds. No animals may be stalled without bedding. Shavings may be ordered through Cindy Clinton prior to the show and at the bedding and feed kiosk in the main barn at the show, all shavings will be put on your show bill and paid for in the show office. NO STRAW WILL BE PERMITTED TO BE USED ON THE GROUNDS. CALL FOR CLASSES: When the start of any class requiring horses to be shown individually is delayed by horses not ready to perform the competition may be closed at the order of the judges or Show Committee, provided a warning is issued and exhibitors are given three minutes to appear at the in-gate ready to participate. In classes where horses compete collectively, a warning

is issued and the in-gate must be closed two minutes after the first horse enters the ring. Gate calls are complimentary and it is the responsibility of the owner, rider, and trainer to check in with the paddock master located at the end gate. CAMPERS: All campers parked on the show grounds must pay $35.00 per day fee to OHAHA. Camper parking passes may be obtained from the show secretary and must be purchased prior to parking. Camping passes must be displayed on the camper in plain sight at all times. All campers that are found not to have purchased a parking pass will be subject to a $100.00 fine and or towed at the owner s expense. CANCELLATION OF CLASSES: The show manager reserves the right to cancel or combine any classes and prize money in any class with less than 4 entries. CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES: Supreme Halter Championships horses placing first in qualifying classes are eligible. DOGS: Dogs are not permitted to be loose on competition grounds and must be kept on a leash or otherwise restrained. Individuals must not lead a dog while mounted. Dog owners who fail to comply with these rules may be subject to penalties under chapter 6 and 7 as well as issuance of a warning card. DRESS: It is the tradition of the competition ring that riders and drivers be correctly attired for the class in question that attendants must be neatly dressed and horses be properly presented. The show manager shall bar any entry or person from entering the ring if not suitably presented to appear before an audience. OHAHA WILL NOT ACCEPT ENTRIES FROM INDIVIDUALS OWING INDEBTNESS TO ANY CLUB IN REGION 14, REGION 14 OR ANY ASSOCIATION FOR WHICH THIS SHOW OBTAINS APPROVAL TO HOLD SAID SHOW FROM. ENTRY FORM: Entries must be submitted on an official Entry Form for the show. The entry form may be duplicated. Confirmation of entries will be sent in writing or by email. Farm names will be used only if the stable or farm is the owner appearing on the horse s registration papers. If the stable or farm has been registered with USEF, the number shown on the USEF farm registration certificate is noted on the entry form. A copy of your USEF farm registration certificate must accompany your entry. A photocopy of both sides of the certificate of registration of each horse entered must be submitted with the entry form. If the name shown on the registration papers is different from the person entering the horse, an affidavit, a copy of the sales contract or authorization form must be filed with the show office. Any corporation owning and showing a horse must be a member of AHA and that membership number must be on the entry form. Photostat copies of your Amateur Certification, USEF Membership Card, AHA Membership, NSH Owners 10 Membership and registration for each horse entered MUST accompany your entries. Horse entered in amateur owner and junior owner classes must be registered in the name of the competitor or a member of the competitor s family, as defined by USEF GR 134. (Horses registered in a farm/ranch/syndicate/partnership/corporation name may be shown in Amateur Owner classes providing the family is the sole owner of the farm or entity as defined by USEF GR 134. The sale of a horse does not eliminate this registration requirement. (Contracts of sale or bill of sale will not be accepted). FIRE MARSHALLS REGULATION: All aisles will be open at all times. There will be no closing off of aisles for any reason. Decorations cannot exceed out more than 18 inches into the main aisles. NO stall roof is allowed to be covered with any type of material. Don t forget smoke alarms and fire extinguishers. No household electric cords. JUDGES: In the event that due to illness of failure of a judge to attend the show or to perform their duties, the show committee reserves the right to substitute a judge for the one who is officially designated in the prize list, according to the USEF rules (GR 1213). No one shall approach a judge with regards to a decision unless he first obtains permission from the Show Committee, Steward or Technical Delegate who shall arrange an appointment with the judge at a proper time and place. No exhibitor has the right to inspect the judge s cards without the judge s permission. NATIONAL SHOW HORSES: All exhibitors must supply the show with a copy of the official NSHR Certificate of registration or confirmation letter before the horse is allowed to show. Pending registrations will not be accepted. In the event an unregistered horse enters into a NSH class, the show management will report the violation to USEF in accordance with applicable rules. Effective April 1, 2006 riders, drivers, handlers, trainers and at least one owner MUST be a member of the National Show Horse Registry in order to compete in National Show Horse classes at local shows. PROTESTS: Any exhibitor, agent, trainer or the parents of a junior exhibitor may make protests to the show manager for any violation of USEF rules. It must be in writing, signed by the protester, addressed to the secretary of the show at which the violation occurred accompanied by a deposit of $200 if member ($300 nonmember) and received by the steward any member of the show committee, show manager or show secretary within 48 hours of the alleged violation. According to the USEF rules (GR 602). RESPONSIBILITY: All entries are accepted with the understanding that the Ohio Half-Arabian Horse Association will not be held responsible for loss, damage or injury to any horse exhibitor or any article of any kind. All horses shall be under the control and direction of the show committee but solely at the risk of the exhibitor who will be responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any person, animal or property

occasioned by him, his agents or employees, or by any animal owned or exhibited by him, and shall indemnify the Ohio Half-Arabian Horse Association against any and all loss damages and liability thus occasioned, including but not limited to any and all legal costs; including attorney fees which may be incurred as a result thereof. Exhibitors, grooms, handlers, owners, etc. are hereby warned that they may not use any device or conduct which may cause harm to any other person(s), horse(s), or equipment. THE SUBMITTING OF ANY ENTRY FORM TO THE SECRETARY SHALL CONSTITUTE AN ACCEPTANCE BY EACH PERON SIGNING SAME OF THE PROVISIONS HEREIN SET FORTH. USEF & AHA RULES: Show management will be charged with the responsibility of enforcing all USEF and AHA rules. Special emphasis will be placed on the rules pertaining to the retention of natural action: expressly hoof length, weighted shoes, pads or action brought about these similar artificial appliances. The use of chains, rollers or similar devices on the show grounds before or during a show is prohibited. The show manager will bar violators from further participation for the remainder of the show. Violators shall forfeit all entry fees and prize money for the entire show. National Show Horses may use these applications when applicable. MOTORIZED VEHICLES: Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. SHARPS CONTAINERS: Competition management shall place a minimum of one sharps container per each competition, whether or not stabling is provided, additionally, at least one sharps container per fifty occupied stalls for the disposal of needles and other sharp instruments in convenient locations in barns housing competition horses. It is the competition management s responsibility to replace such containers when full and dispose of them properly. Competition management may fine any individual including trainers, owners, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposal instruments. SMOKING: No person will be permitted to smoke in any building on the show grounds at any time as per Ohio State Law. JUDGING SYSTEM: The Arabian Judging system that has been chosen for this show is the Comparative Judging System. Ruling by the USEF Arabian Committee (May 2008): In all other multi-judge competitions and USEF/EC/AHA classes judged by a single judge qualifying horses are judged comparatively for Supreme Championships. HANDLERS: Cruelty to or the abuse of a horse by any person at a recognized competition is forbidden. Excessive use of a whip on any horse in a stall, runway, schooling area, competition ring or elsewhere on the competition grounds before or during a competition, by any person, constitutes a violation and renders the offender subject to penalty. HEADERS: Permitted in all driving and walk only and walk trot classes, but must be properly attired JUNIOR EXHIBITORS: Junior Exhibitor s classes are limited to riders who have not yet reached their 19th birthday as of December 1. LUNGING: Lunging is only permitted in certain rings. At no time is lunging in the show area permitted. PARKING INFORMATION: Specific areas have been set aside for parking of horse vans and trailers, all trailers must be parked at the north end of the stabling area. All trailers must be parked away from the building; all violators will be ticketed and towed at owner s expense. REFUNDS: Refunds can be requested prior to pre-entry deadline. After pre-entry closing date only class entry fees will be refunded with Certified Vets medical report verifying medical inability of the horse to show and a written refund request by the horses recorded owner, which must be delivered to the show manager by the end of the last class of the show. STABLING AVAILABLILTY: No initial bedding furnished, All horses on the grounds must have a stall; the stall office is located beside the show office. No Stabling will be reserved without full payment. Stalls are available on a first come first service basis after prime sponsors are stalled. There will be no refund for stalls. Health certificates within the past 30 days and a negative Coggins test are required for all out-of-state horses. 11

Beginning December 1, 2015, all horses entering the grounds of a Federation- icensed competition must be accompanied by documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to entering the stables. STALLIONS: May be shown by a woman or child in all classes except all Showmanship in-hand, Walk Trot, Lead Line and Walk Only Classes. TACK STALLS: Stalls may not be painted, marred or damaged in any way. The driving of nails, screws, staples, etc. is strictly forbidden. Exhibitors will be fined for any damage to stalls. The stalls are permanent, wood with wooden doors and metal bars on all stalls. UNLOADING: After unloading all vehicles must be parked in a designated parking place for that particular vehicle as soon as unloading is completed. USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $45 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot (exception: Friesian performance FR222) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. TO: ALL RIDERS, TRAINERS, OWNERS AND GROOMS DATE: JANUARY 1, 2014 Upholding the welfare of the horses exhibited here is of primary concern to our management team. We require that all horses are treated with the kindness, respect and compassion they deserve and they should never be subject to mistreatment. Owners, trainers, riders and grooms or their agents, must use reasonable care in the handling and treatment of the horses owned and/or placed in their care for competition or for any other purpose. We will provide for the continuous well-being of the horse by vigorously enforcing the rules of the USEF, which pertain to the welfare of the horse. Exhibitors are cautioned that article 302 which defines the USEF policy on abuse, Article 806 which pertains to poling, and article 320 which pertains to the use of whips, will be strictly enforced. No excessive use of whips or poling will be tolerated.
