The performances will be held at Niagara Wheatfield High School on Friday June 15 th at 6 PM, and Saturday, June 16 th at 11 AM. Please read ALL of the information in this packet very carefully and be sure to add ALL dates and times to your calendars! All schedules and details included are very important. Wellinformed parents can help the performance season run smoothly and be less stressful for everyone! COSTUME INFORMATION *COSTUMES should be received the week of March 19 th during classes. Costumes will only be distributed to families with accounts that are current (no past due tuition or fees). Costumes should NOT be worn for ANY purpose EXCEPT: PICTURE DAY, DRESS REHEARSALS, & PERFORMANCES. If a costume is lost or damaged, it CANNOT be replaced! If a dancer doesn t have a costume, they will be unable to perform. When waiting to rehearse/perform, dancers should always wear a cover-up of some form, a robe or oversized button-down shirt will work well. Shirts that need to be pulled over the head will not work, as this will mess up hair/makeup. LABEL EVERYTHING!!! *UNDERGARMENTS - When possible it is always preferable that a dancer not wear any undergarments. If they are needed, please purchase nude/flesh-toned bras/panties/leos for under costumes. No colorful undergarments should be showing! You can find what you need at any dance retailer, department or big-box store (Walmart, Target, Sears etc.). Bras should have clear straps. *TIGHTS/SHOES Tights must be worn for all dances (unless otherwise specified), a pair has been included with your costume if needed. It is highly recommended that you have at least one extra pair of tights on hand, you never know when you might need them! You will receive specifics as to what tights and shoes your dancer should have for each class. *FINALE COSTUME All dancers will participate in the finale. They will wear our 2017-18 Recital T-shirt, any black bottoms (shorts, capris, jazz pants, etc.) and either jazz shoes or go barefoot. HAIR & MAKE-UP All girls are to have their hair in a low bun! No parts in the front and no bangs allowed. Unless specified differently from your dancer s teacher. Please pin all hair back. There are no bun covers, glitter spray, or sparkly clips, hairnets only. Everyone is to be uniform! It gives the students a much more clean and professional look. Competition teams should have their hair just as they would for a competition. Boys hair should be neat and out of their eyes. Recital makeup is basically heavy street makeup. Foundation is a must!! The stage lights will wash the dancers face out and make them look like ghosts on stage. All boys are to wear a clear lip balm only!! Girls, brown eye shadow only(please see the additional page with make-up tips for eyes)! NO NAILPOLISH, PLEASE! DANCER DROP OFF/PICK UP All dancers must be dropped off at the check-in table with a member of the staff. This will most likely once again be in the side hallway leading to the music room. Dancers should be in their first costume, with hair and make-up done. 3
At the end of the night, all dancers must be signed out. There will be someone backstage until all students are picked up. DRESSING ROOMS Most of the girls will be changing in the music room again this year. Gentlemen, we will have another room opened just for you. There are to be NO men or boys in the girls dressing areas for ANY reason!! This is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. I am sure you will all agree! I recommend totes, laundry baskets and hanging racks if you have several numbers. A lot of kids are already pros at this; take off one costume, throw in the basket/tote, grab the next off the rack. You re more likely to go home with everything! Once again, LABEL EVERYTHING!!! Water and dry snacks are allowed. Please stick to snacks like pretzels or Goldfish that won t stain their fingers and ruin costumes. DVDS DVDs of the performances will be available for purchase; $40 for one show, or $75 for both. It is preferable that these are pre-ordered and paid for by Saturday, June 9 th. There is to be NO video recording or flash photography during recital!!! Flashes are a huge distraction to our dancers and phones/video recording equipment gets in the way of others trying to watch their child on stage. You will be asked to leave if you violate this rule. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! TICKETS We are using a new site for tickets this Spring. www.dancerecitalticketing.com MEMORY BOOKS Our new Memory Books will be $10 and will be the only program available for recital. COVER CONTEST!! The dancer with the most ad sales (in dollars) will be featured on the front of our full color program!!! Please see the additional page for ad pricing. TTD LOLLIGRAMS & FLOWERS Every hard-working dancer deserves recognition! Our Lolligrams will be $5 each and will consist of a lollipop with an attached note, personalized from you to your dancer. These will be available for pre-order ONLY! Stop by the front desk no later than May 25 th to purchase your TTD Gram and fill in your personalized message. These will be given to your dancer by a volunteer, after they perform. 4

ADDITIONAL DETAILS PICTURES: o Please arrive 20-30 minutes prior to your scheduled time, hair and make-up done, first costume ready to go. o Dancers will take individual photos (if ordering) as well as class photos. o Students with more than one costume are able to change in the designated room. o Dancers with solos, duets or trios will have their own time slots. o Due to the busy nature of this event, we ask that only the dancer and ONE parent be present. Please NO siblings. o Parents are asked to wait in the lobby, they will not be allowed in the photography room. o PLEASE NO FOOD OR DRINK in the dressing area, photography room or around the costumes in general. You may have them in the lobby, but please, as always, pick up after yourself. o Order forms will be available shortly before picture day, please have them ready, with payment, on picture day. o Dancers should come to their class picture day, even if you do not plan on ordering, so they can be in the group photo with their fellow dancers. o You will receive an email when photos arrive at the studio and are ready for pickup.
