Frozen Summer of Fun at Disney s Hollywood Studios Who is your favorite Frozen Character? Anna, Elsa, or even Olaf? We all have our favorites and love singing those Frozen songs over and over and over again. If you are a huge Frozen fan, you will want to spend some time this summer at Disneyʼs Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida. During the summer months from July through September 2014, Disney is making hot Florida days wintery with the Frozen Summer of Fun. The Frozen Summer of Fun has lots of amazing attractions, souvenirs, treats and even fireworks; all centered around our favorite movie...frozen! This is a super popular event. Our Frozen Summer of Fun e-guide will walk you through this amazing event to make sure you get the best chill during your visit.
Frozen Attractions & Shows Anna & Elsaʼs Royal Welcome At 11:00 in the morning, you can welcome Anna and Elsa as they arrive in Hollywood as part of their goodwill tour of neighboring kingdoms, making their way down Hollywood Blvd. in a horse-drawn sleigh. This is a must do on your day at the Frozen Summer of Fun! If you do not have the Frozen Summer Fun Premium Package, you will want to try to find a spot close to the main stage at the end of Hollywood Blvd. This stage is right under the Sorcerer Mickey hat. The welcome starts near the entrance to Disneyʼs Hollywood Studios and makes its way down Hollywood Blvd. Once Anna and Elsa reach the stage, they take a brief moment on stage to kick off the day with the sing-along of Let it Go. After the welcome, they get back into the sleigh and continue with the parade welcome down to the exit (right next to Star Tours). Snow Tip! If you want to just see Anna and Elsa in the parade, find a spot over by Star Tours. This is a less crowded area to see the parade. You will not be able to see the stage in this area, but your family will still get to see their favorite characters and the parade. of the welcome by Anna and Elsa. This will help you determine if you want to get a spot near the stage or just watch the parade. Frozen Fireworks Spectacular At the end of the evening (right around 9:45 PM), you can see Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf for the grand finale of fireworks and music from Frozen. This spectacular show kicks off on the stage under the Sorcerer Mickey hat. You can find a spot anywhere in front of the stage all the way down Hollywood Blvd. to see the show. If you are interested more in the fireworks, you can find a spot anywhere throughout Disneyʼs Hollywood Studios for this show. The music is piped through the whole park. One of my favorite spots is near the corner of Hollywood Blvd. and Sunset Blvd. There is a huge movie screen in this spot, so you can see the whole show. Plus, the fireworks viewing over the Sorcerer Mickey hat is fantastic! If you booked the Frozen Summer Fun Premium Package, you will have a spectacular view on stage right for your dessert party. You can enjoy tasty treats as you stand for this show.
Snow Tip! If you have Mickey Glow Ears, be sure you bring them for the Frozen Fireworks Spectacular, because the Glow Ears do work during this show. Just a little extra magic! Coolest Summer Ever Dance Party The stage is rocking in the afternoon from 5:30-9:30 PM with the ICE band and DJʼs playing your favorite dance music. Your whole family can enjoy this live entertainment in the evening, right before the Frozen Fireworks Spectacular. There is plenty of space to dance and enjoy the live entertainment. You may even see Olaf pop by on the big screens above the stage. For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration The most popular show during the Frozen Summer of Fun is the Sing-Along Celebration. There are several shows throughout the day including 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, 3:30, 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00. These show times may vary based on your day. This show is located back by Muppetʼs 3-D and Lights, Motors, Action Stunt Show in the Premiere Theater. The show lasts about 20 minutes. You will see your favorite Frozen characters including Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff, along with some new friends. The two narrators will walk you through the story of Frozen stopping to sing some of your favorite songs in a Sing-Along fashion. There are huge screens on either side of the
stage and behind the stage. You can sing at the top of your lungs! This is our favorite activity during the Frozen Summer of Fun. It is very popular with long lines. I would suggest picking up a ticket at the Premiere Theater after the Royal Welcome for a show that best fits your day. That will eliminate some of the long waits. If you were not able to get a ticket, plan on arriving early and bring an umbrella, fan or water bottle to keep you cool in the lines. If you booked the Frozen Summer Fun Premium Package, you can pick a show time, best for your family. You then arrive about 20-30 minutes before the show and are seated in a special area for this package. Snow Tip! If you were not able to get a ticket for a show, hit the first show of the day. This is usually the least crowded of all of the shows. You will want to arrive early, because it will still be busy! Take-Along Olaf Olaf the snowman is having the time of his life on his very first summer vacation at Disneyʼs Hollywood Studios! As you enter the park and throughout the park (all day long), Disney Cast Members will be passing out Olaf. You can take selfie pictures throughout your day at Disneyʼs Hollywood Studios. If you post on your social marketing, be sure you use the hashtag #olafsummervacation. At the end of the day at the Frozen Fireworks Spectacular, you may find your picture on the big screen above
the stage. You and your family will have so much fun taking pictures of Olaf during your summer vacation! Wandering Oakenʼs Frozen Funland
Right past the Wandering Oakenʼs Trading Post (after Toy Story Mania and before Backstage Tour), you will find the Frozen Funland. You can rent ice skates and a helmet (required) for $10 and enjoy the ice skating rink. You can also rent socks. We were completely comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt in the ice rink. If you have your own skates, you can also bring them. Since we are from Orlando, we brought our daughterʼs skates. You still have to pay the $10 fee, even if you have your own skates. Watch out for some fun characters! Disney even makes the Zamboni a fun experience at the Funland. You may even see some Norwegian skaters perform. The sessions are short about 30 minutes, but perfect for most guests. After ice skating, you can make a real snowman with snow! The snowman making usually has a longer line, but it is a lot of fun. Disney has 30 minute sessions for the snowman making. After each session they fluff up the snow for the next group of guests. They provide buckets and shovels to help make your snowman making a little bit easier. After your ice skating and snowman making, you may want to enjoy a sweet treat or hot chocolate. Frozen Shopping Wandering Oakenʼs Trading Post From park opening until park close, you can stop by the Wandering Oakenʼs Trading Post to shop for your favorite Frozen merchandise. This shop is located right past Toy Story Mania and before the Backstage Tour. You can find stuffed plush, dolls, costumes, DVDʼs, sweet treats, and even the super popular Frozen MagicBands. Snow Tip! The Wandering Oakenʼs is usually busier in the morning. Wait until after lunch to visit this trading post. Frozen Sweet Treats You will find Frozen inspired beverages and treats throughout Disneyʼs Hollywood Studios. Beverages Summer Berry Margarita - This iced beverage is another popular ones for adults with Citrus Vodka, Peach Schnapps and Blue Curacao mixed with Sweet & Sour Mix and pineapple juice. Arendelle Punch - This iced beverage includes pineapple juice, Grenadine and ginger ale. In the evening hours, the Arendelle Punch becomes the Let it Glow with a glow cube.
Frozen Blue Raspberry Slush - To keep the kids cool during your day, you can try this frozen beverage with a souvenir take home cup. Sweet Treats There are lots of freshly baked sweet treats including frosted cookies, rice krispy treats, cupcakes and more. Here are a few of the highlights. Olaf Cupcake - This carrot cake cupcake features vanilla buttercream frosting. It is then topped with a marshmallow and white chocolate Olaf. Anna & Elsa Cupcakes - If you want a super sweet cupcake, try one of the Anna or Elsa cupcakes. The Anna Cupcake is a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting. The Elsa Cupcake is a vanilla cupcake with buttercream frosting. Both have fun sprinkles on top of the cupcakes. Do You Want to Build an Ice Cream Sandwich - I love this sweet treat! It is perfect to cool you down in the hot Florida sun. You also have to love that Frozen theme, even with an ice cream sandwich!
Fun Photo Stops As you walk past security into Disney s Hollywood Studios, you will have an amazing photo opportunity with Olaf made out of sand. This is a great spot to get a family photo of your day at the Frozen Summer of Fun. Before you leave home, download the Aurasma app to your smart phone. During your day at Disney s Hollywood Studios there will be several opportunities to get a picture of your family with your smart phone. When you use this app, you will be able to get a picture with your family, along with some fun Frozen characters. It is a lot of fun for the whole family. Extra Frozen Magic Snow in Orlando It is hard to imagine snow in Orlando in the middle of summer, but Elsa used her magic to make it happen. You will see snow as you enter Disney s Hollywood Studios as you walk down Hollywood Blvd. You will see snow during many of the shows, including the Royal Welcome, Frozen Fireworks Spectacular Show and For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. Be sure to have your cameras ready to snap a family pic of snow in Florida!
Characters at the Wandering Oakenʼs Frozen Funland I love the characters at the Wandering Oakenʼs Frozen Funland and I am not talking about costume characters, but the Disney Cast Members. In this area, Oaken and his cousins built the trading post and Funland. All of his cousins speak with a Norwegian accent and they are really funny. Spend some time interacting with the Cast Members in this area. Your whole family will have fun!
