We CAN Make A Difference Congratulations to Elizabeth Myers for having her name selected from the ticket jar! She won a Chick-fil-A gift card as an extra thank you for bringing in cans during our building fund collection period. We ll have at least two drawings during our local collection period. Bring in your cans; your name goes on a ticket for every 25 cans you bring! Together we turned our aluminum cans from the first six weeks into $45.60 for the school s building fund. The cans we are collecting now through Christmas Break will benefit people and organizations in our local community. Everyone bringing cans during this period will help The Mission and will help sponsor a child on the Salvation Army Angel Tree. This small act of recycling our aluminum cans will mean so much to those impacted by these organizations! Thank you to everyone who brought aluminum cans! Students and teachers bringing cans the last two weeks were Ava Rogers (740), Tyler Robertson (423), Taylor Warren (341), A.J. Chapman (75), Izzy Zook (50), John Zook (50), Ms. Wright (37), and James Dobson (20). The next collection date is Friday, October 16. Please bring your aluminum cans to the curb. Don t forget to crush and count your cans! But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Physical Science: Robotics By: Maddison Wallace, 9th grade student Mr. Harthun s 9th grade physical science class did a robotics unit where we put together four robotic arms from a Civil Air Patrol grant. We divided up into four groups which consisted of six people each. Each member of the team had their own job; whether they tightened some screws, built the remote control, put the motors together, or put the batteries in. Each of the arms were completed within 5 days and functioned very well. There were a few complications, but they were quickly worked out. They are not programmed, yet, but we are looking forward to doing so. Ryan Rannow (left) & Justin Keene (right)
