#32 ROCKIES STARTING PITCHER TYLER CHATWOOD RHP Height: 6-0 Weight: 185 Age: 27 (Dec. 16, 1989) Born: Redlands, Calif. Acquired: From Los Angeles-AL, Nov. 30, 2011 CHAT ABOUT THAT The 27-year-old Redlands, Calif., native made his fourth career and second consecutive Opening Day roster after missing all of 2015 due to recovery from Tommy John surgery. Will be making his 104th career appearance, 95th start today has made 76 appearances, 69 starts with the Rockies since 2012. Has induced 59 ground balls this year, a 54.6 ground ball percentage that ranks fifth in the National League has induced four ground ball double plays, tied for seventh-most in the NL has a 74.1 groundball percentage on non-fastballs, the highest among qualifying starters in the Major Leagues. LAST TIME OUT Took his second consecutive loss, May 2 at San Diego allowed a season-high tying five runs (for the second consecutive start) on four hits with two home runs, a season-high four walks and four strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched. The streak of six quality starts on the road (April 6-June 18), which ended at Miami June 18 with an injury, was the longest for the Rockies since Jhoulys Chacin also recorded six consecutive quality road starts, May 27-Aug. 7, 2013 the last Rockies pitcher to record a streak of seven quality starts on the road was Jason Hammel, May 3-July 1, 2009.
