Poinsettia Palette February 2014 Newsletter of the Poinsettia Painters Chapter of the Society of Decorative Painters, Ventura County CA. www.poinsettiapainters.com 2014 Issue 2 PRESIDENTS MESSAGE It was so nice to see everyone again after the holidays. The January meeting was filled with fun and laughter. Mona & Liz had a Valentine project set up for us, complete with hearts, paints, suggested designs, and even digital slide show of ideas. Karen has wonderful teachers and projects lined up for the coming year. She had a storyboard all set up with project pictures and dates from now through March 2015! Please support the chapter and teachers by signing up early and attending as many paint-ins as you can. Since most of our paint-in locations are some distance from a quick lunch, it was voted at the January meeting that all paint-ins for the coming year will also be pot-luck. This should be very helpful in keeping us on a better track to complete our projects in class. So, in addition to class sign-ups, Karen will also have potluck sign up sheets for every paint-in. Plans are underway for the Mystery Paint-In and Seminar in the fall. The March paint-in is a free Come Paint Your Chapter Shirt for Conference day. We will also be working on the banquet table decorations that day. I will have samples for you to see at the February and March meetings. Even though it is free, you do need to sign up with Karen so we know how many to expect. Don t forget to bring something you have painted for show and tell. See you on the 10 th! Carol 1
