New membership applicatis to IEA must be processed by the natial office, and a membership number must be assigned in order for the rider to compete.
Hunt Seat Class Descriptis Jumping Classes Class #2 Varsity Open Equitati over fences 2'6" Riders should be capable of jumping 3-3 6 their usual mounts at home. Open Riders may have shown in any horse show, recognized or unrated, at 3 6 or above. Coaches should feel that these riders would be able to safely perform over 2 6 hunter or equitati course an unfamiliar horse. Class #3 Varsity Intermediate Equitati over fences of 2' Riders should be capable of jumping 2 6-3 their usual mounts at home. Intermediate Riders may have shown in any horse show, recognized or unrated, at 3 3 or below. Riders who have w more than 6 rated age-group equitati the flat classes are ineligible for this class. Coaches should feel that these riders would be able to safely perform over 2 hunter or equitati course an unfamiliar horse. Class #4 Junior Varsity Novice Equitati over cross rails Riders should be capable of jumping 2 their usual mounts at home. Junior Varsity Novice Riders may have shown in any horse show, recognized or unrated, in any divisi at 2 3 or below. Coaches should feel that these riders would be able to safely perform over an x-rails hunter course. Class #5 Future Intermediate Equitati over fences of 2' Restricted to middle school riders who meet any of the criteria for Hunt Seat Class 3. Class #6 Future Novice Equitati over cross rails Restricted to middle school riders who meet the criteria for Hunt Seat Class 4. Classes [Note: Riders without jumping experience should be assessed according to their ability to perform flatwork tests, as listed in IEA Rule 3(D).] Class #8 Varsity Open Equitati the flat Riders eligible for Class 2. These riders should be capable of performing Hunt Seat Tests 1 through 13. Class #9 Varsity Intermediate Equitati the flat Riders eligible for Class 3. These riders should be capable of performing Hunt Seat Tests 1 through 9. Class #10 Junior Varsity Novice Equitati the flat Riders eligible for Class 4. These riders should be capable of performing Hunt Seat Tests 1 through 8. Class #11 Junior Varsity Beginner Equitati the flat Open to riders who have been riding less than 4 calendar years, who are not eligible for any jumping classes, but should be experienced enough to canter an unfamiliar animal in a group. These riders should be capable of performing Hunt Seat Tests 1 through 6, and may have shown at unrated horse shows. A Beginner rider may not have shown over fences larger than 18 in unrated horse shows, or shown in any rated classes. A rider who is in their first year of showing over cross rails may still be csidered eligible for this class. Class #12 Future Intermediate Equitati the flat Restricted to middle school riders who meet the criteria for Hunt Seat Class 5 and/or who are capable of performing Hunt Seat Tests 1 through 9. Class #13 Future Novice Equitati the flat Restricted to middle school riders who meet the criteria for Hunt Seat Class 6 and/or who are capable of performing Hunt Seat Tests 1 through 8. Class #14 Future Beginner Equitati the flat Restricted to middle school riders who meet the eligibility requirements of Class 11.
Hunt Seat Tests Rule 3.D. A rider must be prepared to perform the test appropriate for the class in which the rider is participating. Riders may be requested to perform the following tests collectively or individually during a show or competiti. No other tests may be used. The judge may choose ly from the following list, and instructis for performance of the test must be publicly announced. 1. Asked an appropriate questi. 2. Halt 3. Sitting trot. 4. Two point positi at the walk and/or trot. 5. Figure eight at trot, demstrating change of diagals. 6. Figure eight at canter correct lead, demstrating simple change of lead. 7. Change Horses 8. Ride without stirrups. 9. Change leads down center of ring, demstrating simple change of lead. 10. Canter the counter lead. No more than eight horses may counter canter at e time. 11. Half-turn forehand and/or half-turn haunches. 12. Jump a shortened course. 13. Trot a jump not to exceed 2 6.

Go approximately 8 miles to Sugarpike and bare right. (You will see a Circle K) Take Sugarpike until it ends Turn right Go to the next stop sign and make a right Turn Left to Arbor Hill Go to the third street which is Gaddis Rd. and make a left. Sora Creek is the left at 1937 Gaddis Rd. (See red sign at driveway) Follow road back until you see the barn and parking area Coming from 575 North: Take 575 North to exit 19 (Hwy 20 East) At the light make a left to Hwy 20 East Ctinue about 6 miles to East Cherokee (follow the Woodmt signs) Turn RIGHT to East Cherokee RD. Ctinue to Gaddis Road (look for signs for Woodmt Community) Turn LEFT Gaddis Road into Woodmt Community Ctinue for a half a mile - look for red Sora Creek sign right Turn Right into Sora Creek driveway Follow road back until you see the barn and parking area Please park ly in designated areas and carpool if possible. This show would not be possible without this cooperative effort. Bring water buckets clearly marked so that your horses can be watered during the day. Bring feed necessary for your horses for the day. Coggins an original certified veterinarian copy of negative Coggins test, dated within 12 mths, is required for a horse to enter the show grounds. Absolutely no dogs allowed.

This entry cstitutes an acceptance of the hired officials at this event. Entries: Entries will not be accepted without an IEA number listed for each rider. Entries are limited to two (2) riders per class per team. Each individual will be charged $35 per class. Teams will be charged a $25 office fee. Scratches can be made with full refund before closing date (midnight, October 27, 2007). After the closing date, entry fees will ly be refunded if a substitute team or rider can fill the opening. One check should be made payable to Sora Farms Equestrian Team for your team s entry. 1. Priority registrati for Ze 4 Regi 2 Priority registrati for Ze 4 Regi 1 will open October 15, 2007 and close at midnight October 20, 2007. All entries received from Ze 4 Regi 1 before October 15, 2007 will be put in a random drawing and entered in the show in the order they are drawn until classes are filled to capacity. 2. Secd Priority registrati for Ze 4, Regi 1 and Ze 4, Regi 3 If classes are not filled to capacity, then secd priority registrati for Ze 4, Regi 1 and Regi 3 will open October 22, 2007 and close at midnight October 27, 2007. All entries received from Ze 4 Regi 1 and 3, before October 22, 2007 will be put in a random drawing and entered in the show in the order they are drawn until classes are filled to capacity. 3. General Membership Registrati If classes are not filled to capacity, then IEA general membership registrati will open October 22, 2007 and close at midnight October 27, 2007. All entries received from IEA members before October 23, 2007 will be put in a random drawing and entered in the show in the order they are drawn until classes are filled to capacity. All entering teams are invited to ctribute horses to the competiti. The more horses, the more entries can be accepted. Please fill out the attached horse roster and return it with your entry if you can ctribute. Hunt Seat Format: The general format will follow the Rules and Regulatis as established by the IEA unless otherwise stated. However, if a topic is not covered by these Rules and Regulatis, the rules and regulatis of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Associati [ IHSA ] and the United States Equestrian Federati, Inc. [ USEF ] for the Hunt Seat Divisi and the American Quarter Horse Associati [AQHA ] for the Western Divisi may be used as a reference for guidance in making an equitable decisi under the circumstances. Any decisis made by a steward or show management shall be final. All horses will be provided by the host team. Horses and Order of Go will be assigned by a random draw the day of competiti. Before jumping classes, each rider will be allowed ly two warm-up fences, in the pattern posted by the show steward. Warm-up fences may ly be changed by a steward or show official. All classes will be judged equitati, and faults of the horse will not be judged. If a horse should perform so poorly that it is impossible to fairly judge the rider, the judge may request a re-ride. Any other requests for rerides will be determined by the steward. -All riders must wear ATSM approved protective headgear whenever mounted.
Hunt Seat Awards: -The Leading Rider Award will be given to the winner of the Varsity Open Champiship. -Team Champiship: Each team will designate e point rider for each class in the Varsity and Junior Varsity and Future divisis. Different riders may be designated for flat and fences. A champi and reserve will be awarded to (1) The High Point Upper School Team and (2) The High Point Middle School Team. Overall High Point Team will be the team with the most points from all pointed classes-combined upper school and middle school results. Points will be awarded as follows: 1st=7 points, 2nd=5 points, 3rd=4 points, 4th=3 points, 5th=2 points, 6th=1 point. -Sportsmanship Award will be given to the individual chosen by show officials to exemplify outstanding qualities of good sportsmanship.
