Trust begins with respect. Respect must be earned over time. It comes when we prove ourselves trustworthy. Our partnerships are built on mutual respect for each others values and actions. www.cermaq.com

Our story Great partnerships are built over time. By the sea is where we belong. Calm and still, rough and rigorous, always beautiful. To us, one thing matters more than all others: respect. Respect for where we live, who we meet and what we do. That is why we believe so strongly in great partnerships. We are open and transparent with customers and suppliers, and we know that working together always creates a better result. Bringing the world the best salmon is an important job. The world s population is growing, and we need more nutritious food, produced in ways that our planet can sustain. So, we invest in new technologies, always searching for better ways to grow our salmon. We know the answer to this challenge lies hidden under the cold, clean water of the most remote regions in the world. We believe in joining forces with people and nature to give the world the best salmon. We are salmon farmers. We are Cermaq.

Our core principles 1 2 Passionate farmers. Partnership is a journey. The way we work with nature mirrors the way we view our partners. We grow our salmon with patience and care, and we use the same approach to developing and strengthening our partnerships. Our partnerships with customers are characterized by respect, trust and mutual confidence. We believe in close interaction and teamwork, always tuned in to their needs and motivations. We strive for integrity in every interaction, from accommodating special requests to the speed with which we deliver our products fresh to market. Through openness and transparency, we cultivate an environment in which trust, based on consistent performance, grows stronger with time. Wherever we operate around the world, we connect and communicate with local people to build a sense of community around the work we do. By sharing and respecting knowledge that has long been part of local cultures, we take a natural approach to improving the future. We know that by supporting our people and fostering their growth and development, we as a team become more deeply committed to meeting the challenges of salmon farming. Together, we are always looking for better solutions. For us, each fish is more than just a salmon, it is the result of three years of dedication and care. At every stage of their lifecycle, our highly skilled employees take the time to ensure our salmon s health and welfare, from keeping them safe from predators to keeping stress levels low during harvest. We invest in research and new technologies to improve our world class salmon farming operations and ensure the health of future generations of salmon. Strong, healthy salmon today takes us one step closer to a sustainable tomorrow.

Our core principles 3 4 It's more than just a salmon. Salmon has long been hailed as a superfood for its nutritional and health benefits, but what is it that makes Cermaq salmon the superior choice? It's in our commitment to quality and food safety at every level, from traceable genetics through to delivery of delicious, healthy food. The best salmon has a delicate color and perfect texture, exquisite flavor and is rich in healthy nutrients. These characteristics can be found in Cermaq salmon, and they are the reason our customers trust our name. We hold ourselves and our salmon to the highest standards, working with third-party certification bodies to build on the reputation for quality our customers expect and trust. Cermaq salmon is one of the richest sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which are known to help lower the risk of cardiovascular disease. For a healthier source of protein and other essential nutrients, experts recommend replacing some meat meals with fish. It's a healthy change for you, and an essential one for our planet. Photo Yuliya Gontar Sustainability is in our nature. Today, our rapidly growing world population is facing greater challenges to find sustainable food sources than ever before. Farmed salmon may provide a solution to the increasing demand for protein, and could ensure a healthier diet by providing food that can be produced in an environmentally sustainable way. Cermaq depends on healthy oceans to produce sustainable salmon, and we are committed to contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through sustainable practices in our own operations and through global partnerships to advance ocean stewardship. This is why we have partnered with seven of the world's largest seafood companies in the Seafood Business for Ocean Stewardship initiative, as well as partnering with FReSH and the EAT initative to advance the agenda for sustainably produced food and to raise awareness of seafood's role in healthy diets worldwide.

Regional operations Our people. Norway In the fjords of Norway, north of the Arctic Circle, the mountains plunge straight down into the water to meet seabeds where the cold water is constantly circulating. This combination of natural elements is extremely favorable for salmon farming, and it is in these wild, clear waters, that Cermaq Norway raises its Atlantic salmon. Canada With forests that reach down to the water's edge, against the stunning backdrop of one of the world's most diverse ecosystems, Cermaq Canada works in cooperation with nature and local First Nation communities to grow Atlantic salmon on the east and west coasts of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Chile Along the wild coasts of southern Chile, pristine waters and dramatic landscapes combine to create an ideal environment for farming salmon. In this remote place, home to active volcanoes and earthquakes, Cermaq Chile works with local communities to produce Atlantic salmon, Coho salmon and steelhead trout. From our customers and partners to our workers around the world, our business is about people. Our commitment to openness and transparency is at the heart of everything we do. It is upon this foundation that we build strong partnerships, invest in a sustainable future, and stay conscious of our responsibility to society. We will never sacrifice long term goals for short term gains. We believe that the best results come from employing the best people. We always begin with a strong emphasis on competence and skill. But what we have found is that when we employ people from local communities, their integrity and passion, built on generations of affinity with the land and sea, becomes part of their work, every day.

Value chain We focus on each step of the value chain from breeding to the grocery store. Salmon farming follows the same life cycle that occurs in the wild. Eggs are harvested from broodstock fish and grown in fresh water to smolt size. Smolts are entered into sea water to grow to full size, when they are carefully harvested and processed, and shipped to customers worldwide. 5 Our sales offices supply salmon to our customers in more than 70 countries, 365 days a year. 1 The eggs are harvested from broodstock fish, selected for qualities such as strong health, fast 6 The fish is transported by sea, air and land worldwide from our production regions in Canada, growth and low early maturation. Chile and Norway. 3 Smolts are then entered into sea water to grow to full size (4-6 kg), for a period of 14-20 months. The fish have plenty of room, taking up 2.5 percent of the pen volume. The location and use of the sites follow strict governmental regulations and are based on favourable environmental conditions. 4 Harvesting is conducted with a strict focus on animal welfare. The harvest process is quick and it takes only hours until the fish is on its way to the customer. 2 Salmon spend the first part of their life in fresh water. From egg to smolt, the fish spends about 14 months in a land-based hatchery. After hatching, 7 The final step is a healthy and nutritious meal. Cermaq provides the world with more than the salmon live in freshwater tanks on land. 2.5 million salmon meals daily.

Research and innovation Certifications At Cermaq, we hold ourselves and our products to the highest standards, but it's important to us that our customers have more than our word. We support our commitment to sustainability, quality and safety by making ourselves openly accountable to the most stringent third-party standards in the industry. We encounter many challenges as we learn ways to improve salmon quality and make ISO, ASC, BAP and GlobalG.A.P. are just All Cermaq companies are certified more about sustainable salmon farming, and as an industry leader it is our respon- the task of farming more sustainable. We want to provide the world with a clean, pure source of healthy, sustainable food.
