GAME SCHEDULING For the 2018 season, OGLA is promoting minimum standards for game scheduling. To become play-off eligible, a team must play a schedule that has the following components: A minimum of twelve (12) total OGLA games At least one game against each conference opponent A minimum of three (3) non-conference (NC) games. Consider competing against suggested opponents. Maximum # of in-season games: 18 (20 if playing out-of-state games) Teams are permitted 3 scrimmages per team, per season. These scrimmages will not count against your contest count.
2018 NON-LEAGUE GAME SCHEDULING Each team must play a minimum of 3 NC games The 3 NC games must be against at least 2 different teams The teams you play in your NC games should represent at least 2 different conferences. Of the 3 NC games, at least one should be against a team that finished higher than your team according to the laxpower.com 2017 Norm Pr Index and one should be against a team that finished lower. The OGLA understands that for teams finishing at either the very top or very bottom of the laxpower.com Rankings, this requirement may be impossible to meet and therefore will be waived. It is strongly recommended that at least the required higher and lower games be drawn from the table of recommended pairings

Follow same playoff structure as 2017 Requirements to get into playoffs Teams may opt out of Gold if not a Top 12 ranked team 2018 OGLA PLAYOFFS Top 12 teams will play in the Gold Bracket Top team from each league (7 teams) Next top five teams from LaxPower rankings (5 teams) Make sure your league s SOP determines a first place Once Gold bracket is seeded and League Champions ranked below #12 have made their bracket election, the remaining 10-12 highest ranked teams will join the bracket.
REVIEW RULE OF 5 Reminder that OGLA is NOW granting all programs the ability to work with up to 5 players from their team in the off-season In addition, coaches can work with more than 5 players in a clinic setting with a maximum time allowed per OGLA coach (fall/winter) of 8 hours. Three game suspension (coaches and all players from the team) if rule is broken Coaches may hold conditioning practices (without sticks) with any number of players Coaches cannot be involved in the coaching of off-season events (December to Remember, U of O 7v7, etc.)
REVIEW OF 3 HALVES RULE A student shall not participate in more than three (3) halves of play per day. For the purposes of this rule, participation during the same day in three (3) halves at different levels (varsity or JV) shall be considered participation in one (1) game. ANY time played in half = half played. Thus a JV player may swing up to varsity and a varsity player may swing down to JV, but the total sum of their game playing time may not be more than a total of three (3) halves. *** Exception: Weekend playday with multiple teams
SCHEDULING REMINDERS League schedules will be due to league reps by early January 2018 Each team must play each contest for which they are scheduled otherwise it s a forfeiture Double check school and district calendar before finalizing schedule Must have minimum of 9 field players to start a game without forfeiting the game Each league should have no more than 2 games per week night. Think about a weekend playday Must have 12 OGLA games to participate in the 2018 OGLA Playoffs
LEAGUE REPRESENTATIVES Each League Needs 2 League Reps Please inform OGLA the names of these reps before leaving today s meeting League Rep Duties: Assist in the scheduling of games Ensure stats are imputed in a timely and accurate manner (including yellow/red cards) Mediate issues within the league Keep OGLA informed of resolved/unresolved issues with league
