Any matter arising, not especially provided for, shall be governed by the Bylaws of the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland. IT IS THE EXHIBITOR S RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE THEMSELVES AWARE OF THESE CONDITIONS. 1. Stables are limited; stables may be reserved by contacting Chief Horse Steward Rhonda on 0429 985 025 if phone unanswered please leave message or text with the following details, YOUR NAME, PHONE NUMBER, NUMBER OF HORSES/PONY, MARES/GELDING/STALLIONS ETC AND APROX ARRIVAL TIME/DATE. Exhibitors living outside the local area will be given preference prior to 20 th June 2016 then stables will be issued on a first in basis. YOUR STABLES ARE NOT RESERVED UNTIL YOU RECEIVE CONFIRMATION FROM THE CHIEF HORSE STEWARD. 2. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE HORSES TO BE WASHED IN THE STALL AREA OR WASHING MACHINE WASTE OR SIMULAR PUMPED INTO THE STALL AREAS. Please be courteous of other people, there are wash points available for your use. 3. PLEASE NOTE: Please advise if you are not attending the show so that your Stables may be reallocated. 4. Exhibitors may go onto a waiting list availability of stables.. 5. NO ELECTRIC FENCES MAY BE ERECTED AT THE GROUNDS. 6. The Bowen Agricultural, Pastoral & Industrial Assoc Inc. will not under any circumstances hold itself responsible for any loss, damage or mis-delivery of livestock or other exhibits whilst at the Show. All exhibitors should be aware that the show includes a variety of entertainment and events, such as fireworks, motor bike exhibitions, camel rides etc. which may cause a disturbance to your animals. The exhibitor is reminded that they are responsible for taking the necessary steps to ensure the safety of their animals throughout the duration of the show. Exhibitors are also reminded that they will be held liable for any damage caused by their animals to property or person throughout the duration of their stay on the grounds belonging to the Proserpine Agricultural, Pastoral & Industrial Assoc Inc. 7. Any person who willfully injures or destroys any property within the grounds or hinders or obstructs the officers or servants of the Association will be prosecuted and dealt with as the law directs. 8. Exhibitors of livestock for competition must at the time of entry state the age, breed etc and produce the relevant pedigree if required. 9. No exhibit will be admitted to the competition without the ticket issued by the Ring Stewards for that purpose. 10. All protests must be lodged with the Secretary accompanied by a deposit of $50.00 within 2 hours of the notification of the judges award. If a protest is considered frivolous by the committee, the deposit shall be forfeited. 11. Any prize money not collected Tuesday 28 June 2016 will be considered a donation to the Association. 12. Special prizes shall be gladly accepted for any class not enumerated in this schedule. 13. Definitions LOCAL - MAIDEN - NOVICE - PONY - GALLOWAY - HACK - FILLIES & COLTS - refers to the Bowen Shire and are to be a resident of the shire for mini 6 months. A horse that has not won in that type of event at any Agricultural Show excepting a class restricted to local horses A horse that has never won a first at a Royal Show or won a Championship of that type at any Agricultural Show Under 14 hands 14 to 15 hands Over 15 hands 3 years and under Entry Tickets: Entry tickets may be purchased from the Ring Office in the stable area PAYMENT OF PRIZE MONEY Prize money awarded will be available after 2pm on the 28 June 2016 at the Show Office on presentation of a prize money certificate. ~ CONDITIONS OF ENTRY ~ Signing of an entry form binds the Owner/Competitor of the agreement of the conditions of entry and Competition. Parent or Guardian must sign youth entries. The Bowen Pastoral and Agricultural Association Inc Committee members or Show Staff will not be held responsible for any accident, sickness to any horse, owner, rider, handler or competitor, spectator or property. Horses and those in attendance at the show, do so at their own risk. The Bowen Pastoral and Agricultural Association Inc has the right to change the program, however full notice will be given. If there are insufficient entries in any event, the Bowen Pastoral and Agricultural Association Inc reserves the right to cancel the event. Stable areas are to be cleaned upon departure and no rubbish is to be left on the grounds. There will be a manure drop off point made available. Competitors are advised not to approach the Chief Ring Steward for alterations to the Program/Schedule to be made as none will be made. When the class is called into the ring, the ticket must be given to the Steward assisting the Judge. Classes will be judged in catalogue order, however class order may be varied by Stewards discression. Under no circumstances is a competitor or supporter to approach the Judge or the Stewards on a ruling/decision etc. Such should be directed to the Chief Ring Steward only. Horses must be free from hereditary unsoundness in all classes except jumping events. Horses to be paraded on the day at the times/places as directed by the Stewards. LOCAL refers to the Bowen Shire and are to be a resident of the shire for minimum 6 months from date of show.. All stallions must be properly supervised at all times whilst on the grounds; bit and chain for led-in classes. There are no stallion stalls on the grounds but arrangements can be made with the Secretary. Stallions are not eligible in Hack or Riding classes unless otherwise stated. Judges shall decline to make awards where entries are of insufficient merit. Any horse entered in a led-in class must have proof of registration of the breed and this must be available for inspection if necessary by the Chief Ring Steward. No electric fences are to be erected. ENTRY INTO RINGS : Ticket System. NO TICKET NO ENTRY Registered papers may be required by the Chief Ring Steward All placings from breed classes will be forwarded to their Associations where you must hold current membership and the exhibit to be registered with that Breed Association to be eligible to exhibit horse/pony Because of WORK PLACE HEALTH & SAFETY no livestock can be treated for ticks on the Show grounds. DRUGS: The use of hormones and/or tranquilizers is prohibited. Any exhibitors violating this regulation will be dealt with by the Bowen Show Society and Chief Ring Steward. Veterinarian will be in attendance or on call. Junior riders under 17yrs to wear jodhpurs boots only, in all rider classes, pony hack classes and junior hack classes. Led Classes: If you have entered in a breed class you are not eligible to enter in the any other breed. Proof of financial membership with the given breed society and horse regristration must be available to ring stewards upon request. Stallions must be only ridden and handled by adults (18yrs and over) and apply the 2011 EA rules for stallions at competitions Page 4 of 16
BIOSECURITY INFORMATION Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies has instructed us that it requires our Society to obtain from ALL horse competitors prior to their competing in our 2016 Show, a completed Horse Health Declaration. A copy of this Declaration is included in this Schedule. Please ensure that you complete this Declaration and return same to our office, either upon arrival at gate, or when obtaining your first event ticket. Please note that we will retain copies of the submitted Declarations on file and will need to check that we do in fact hold your Declaration prior to your being permitted to compete in any event. Animals demonstrating signs of illness must not enter our grounds. Should anyone observe an animal showing signs of illness, you should immediately contact our office. Should it be necessary to instigate a lockdown of our grounds, any person refusing to stay is required to lodge their details with our office prior to leaving, to enable contact to be made with that person should it become essential. Please note out Society will not be responsible for any costs to any person remaining during the lockdown period. To minimise the possibility of spread of any disease during our show, we request competitors to follow the listed procedures. 1. Minimise your contact and your horses contact with other people s horses. 2. Monitor and respect public access to your animals as practical. Encourage any public having contact with your animals to wash their hands. 3. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND INDEMNITY BOWEN AGRICULTURAL SHOW 2016 I As a condition of my entry into The Bowen Agricultural Show, I hereby acknowledge that I ride at my own risk or my children ride at their own risk and that I am aware that the activities involving horses can be hazardous and that the Bowen Show Society inc. accepts no responsibility or liability for any injury or loss that I/we might sustain as a direct consequence of the activities of the competition whether such injury is a consequence of any act or omission by the Bowen Show Society inc. or its servants, agents, representatives or volunteers. On the basis of these conditions, I hereby indemnify them against any liability arising as a result of my negligence (or the negligence of my servants or agents), in respect of an injury, loss or damage (including property damage) occurring as a result of such negligence, to the fullest extent permitted by law but only to the extent that they are not already indemnified or insured. I declare that my horse/s, my saddlery and myself are in a sound condition and undertake this competition with the knowledge of the physical demands that this competition requires. I consent to receiving any medical treatment, including ambulance transportation that the event organisers think desirable during or after the event. I acknowledge that the safety precautions undertaken by the event organisers (such as course inspection, pre-event safety briefings), are a service to me and other competitors but are not a guarantee of safety. I have read all the Rules & Regulations and by signing this waiver, I agree to abide by all the aforementioned Rules & Regulations. RING 1: SHOWJUMPING All competitors and horses in graded events must be registered members of the Equestrian Federation of Australia or graded with PCAQ. All events will be judged under E.F.A rules, horses in graded events must be registered with E.F.A. PERFORMANCE CARDS must be produced before competition will be allowed. All jumping events will be decided over a course and obstacles as stewards direct. All riders in jumping events must wear formal hunting attire to the approval of the stewards. Junior riders may NOT compete in both AGE and Graded Events on the same horse. Ability show jumping for riders under the age of 14 yrs and under 17yrs are for the encouragement of junior riders. In these classes riders must only nominate one horse. Disclaimer notice must be signed by all junior riders nominated in these two classes. Any registered horses may jump but must jump HC In jumping classes all riders must wear protective headwear and be suitably attired. The use of a whip with a lash by an exhibitor/competitor is strictly prohibited. Stallions may compete in Jumping Classes.
