SINGAPORE NATIONAL GAMES 2018 GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS The participants of SNG 2018 shall be responsible to provide accurate information during registration as. The Organiser may check on eligibility and accuracy of entries. Player/s found ineligible or have provided inaccurate information may result in disqualification. 1. Title 1.1 The series of competitions shall be competed under Singapore National Games 2018 (SNG 2018): Adventure Race Boccia Football Sepak Takraw Adventure Climb Bowling Ultimate Frisbee Table Tennis Aquatics Cycling Hockey 5s Taekwondo Archery Dragon Boat Petanque Volleyball Badminton Ekiden Race Pickleball Beach Volleyball Basketball Floorball Sailing Water Adventure 2. Period 2.1 SNG 2018 will be held from 28 July 2018 to 5 August 2018 unless otherwise stated by specific sports. 2.2 The Organisers at their discretion, reserve the right to change the period of SNG 2018. 3. Sports 3.1 SNG 2018 competition will consist of 23 sports and 9 Para Sports. 3.2 The youth categories of Badminton, Basketball, Football, Indoor Volleyball and Beach Volleyball and Floorball with be held in collaboration with Singapore Youth Olympic Festival (SYOF). 4. Eligibility 4.1 All participants shall be Singapore Citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents and non-singapore Citizens residing in Singapore with valid passes as stated below: Student Pass; Long Term Pass; Dependent s Pass; Work Permit; S Pass; or Employment Pass Singapore National Games 2018 General Rules & Regulations (Updated as of 16 July 2018) Page 2
4.2 For team sports, each team must comprise of at least 70% Singapore citizens or permanent residents unless otherwise stated by the individual sports. 4.3 For corporate team categories, at least 70% of the team must consist of full time and/or contract staff of all private, public and non-profit organisations. In addition, at least 50% of the full time and/or staff must be Singapore citizens or permanent residents. 4.4 Participants who are aged 16 and below, ie born in or after 2002, must obtain parental/legal guardian consent for their participation in the tournament. Consent forms can be downloaded from SNG 2018 official website as follows: www.myactivesg.com/getactivesingapore 4.5 If a participant is found to be registered with more than one team in the same tournament for a particular sport after the registration closing date, the participant will be disqualified from SNG 2018. No substitution or replacement of such participant will be allowed. 5. Registration 5.1 Participants may register through the official website as shown above or at any ActiveSG Sports Centre guest office; 5.2 For team events, Team Manager/Captain may register on behalf of the team; 5.3 Team Managers/Captain shall be the point of contact of the team and shall receive email confirmation of participation after payment is made. 5.4 Late entries will not be entertained. Incomplete submissions at the commencement of team managers meeting shall be rejected. 6. Registration Fees 6.1 Registration opens on 1 May 2018. The closing date of registration for each sport may differ. If none of the participants are taking part in individual events, a fee of $15 will be charged to the team. 6.3 Registration fees for individual and team events shall be made during the registration process 6.4 Fee for team events must be made before the Team Managers meeting 6.5 Participants may register online or at any ActiveSG Sports Centers. 7. Payment Mode 7.1 Participants may register online or at any ActiveSG Sports Centers. Prize Money and Medals 8.1 Prize Monies for SNG2018 will be transferred to Winners via PayNow. 8.2 To access PayNow, participants can use the participating bank s existing internet banking platform or mobile banking app. 8.3 To receive money via PayNow into their bank account, participants need to register for PayNow service using their Mobile Number and/or Singapore NRIC/FIN (One-Time Registration). 8.4 Prize Money and medals will be awarded to the top 3 winners of each event with at least 4 participants/teams; 8.5 Only medals will be awarded when a category/event has less than 4 participants/team; 8.6 If there are only 3 participants for the event, minus 1 rule applies, i.e. only 1 st & 2 nd will be awarded with medal but no prize money; 8.7 If there are less than 4 participants/teams, participants may choose 1 of the following options: Option 1 - Participants may withdraw and receive a full refund Singapore National Games 2018 General Rules & Regulations (Updated as of 16 July 2018) Page 4
Option 2 - Participants may continue with the competition but will not be eligible for prize money. Medals will be awarded based on the minus 1 rule. Option 3 - Participants may opt to join another category which they are eligible for. 8.8 In team events, the winning team will receive a trophy. 9. Protests 9.1 In the event of any dispute arising over any participant(s) and/or any team(s), the particular fixture shall be competed under protest, and the Organiser shall determine the matter on receipt of the protest in writing, together with the prescribed protest fees of $50 for individual events and $100 for team events. 9.2 Protests must be made in writing together with the protest fee and lodged with the Organiser on the spot during the match. In the event of the protest being dismissed, the fee will be forfeited. 9.3 The decision arising from any protest shall be final and there shall be no appeal. 10. First Aid and Medical 10.1 Participants with medical history are encouraged to seek medical advice before competing in this tournament; 10.2 First aid services are available at every venue while ambulances are deployed based on the nature and risk of the sport; & 10.3 All teams and participants shall be responsible to ensure their own medical coverage, including first aid and personal accident insurance. 11. Supplementary Rules 11.1 All participations must provide a valid proof of identification on competition days as part of the verification process. This includes but is not limited to a picture ID (NRIC, Passport, driver s licence, student pass, and birth certificate). Corporate participants are also to bring their company staff pass or a letter from their company verifying that they are a staff of the company. 11.2 All teams are urged to participate in the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship. 11.3 While all reasonable precautions will be taken, Sport Singapore, their servants and agents will not be responsible or in any way liable for any death, disability, personal injury, loss of property or any other loss howsoever arising from any cause whatsoever at any time during the course of this games. 11.4 All participants should refer to the rules and regulations of the individual sports for more detail on each sport. 12. 12.1 The team manager and coaches are responsible for the proper control and good conduct of their participants and supporters. If an appeal is made to any of the above persons and it is not heeded, the Organiser reserves the right to take disciplinary action against the team. 12.2 In the event of a need for disciplinary action to be taken against any participant or team, the Organising Committee shall make a decision and impose punishment as it deems fit; 12.3 The Organiser may at any time deal with any matters pertaining to inquiries, appeals, others etc. The decision of the Organiser on all matters brought before it will be final; 12.4 The Organiser reserve the right to interpret said rules and regulations as they deem fit. In the event of any question or matter arising out of any point which has not been expressly provided for in any of the rules governing this competition, the decision of the Organiser will be final; & 12.5 The rules and regulations as depicted above are current at the time of printing. The Organiser reserves the right to add, delete and/or vary the said rules and regulations at any time as it deems fit. 13.
