INTRODUCTION What is the aim of the Football Futures programme? The aim of the Lincolnshire FA Football Futures programme is to support a select number of young leaders as they look to gain invaluable experience and knowledge through giving up their own time to volunteer in football. What kind of activities can Young Leaders get involved in? Through the Football Futures programme, six themes that Young Leaders can volunteer in have been developed to ensure all Young Leaders have an opportunity to work and develop within the programme. The six themes are as follows; 1. Coaching and Working with teams. 2. Refereeing 3. Running Events 4. Promoting the Game 5. Running the Game 6. RESPECT Ambassador Who is the programme aimed at? The programme is available to any individual aged 14 25 with an interest in being a volunteer and working within football. However, to be eligible to progress to the regional and national camp you have to be aged 16 19 at the time the national camp takes place. The Lincolnshire FA are able to nominate the most pro- active Young Leaders from the Lincolnshire Football Futures programme to attend the National Football Futures camp, held at St. George s Park. Along with the National Football Futures Camp, Young Leaders are able to apply to become part of the FA National Young Coach Development Programme. This provides CPD events at St. George s Park along with a Mentor for the year. The pinnacle of the Football Futures programme is that 4 Young Leaders from the FA National Programme are chosen, following an application, to represent the FA and England through the Changing Lives programme. This offers the Young Leaders the opportunity to travel to deprived countries, to work alongside and pass knowledge to Young Leaders from these communities. In both 2013 and 2014, Rwanda was the country chosen.
