Cheer Force extreme All Star Club Cheerleading 2016-2017 Program Information - Youth, Junior & Senior Teams Thank you for your interest in Cheer Force extreme! CFX is a premier provider of competitive cheerleading and tumbling instruction for athletes of all ages, and we are also one of the longest running competitive programs in the Chicagoland area. At CFX Cheerleading, we take competitive cheerleading and tumbling very seriously while keeping it fun for our athletes and families! Cheer Force extreme is a competitive all-star cheerleading club. An all-star cheerleading team is equivalent to a "travel team" in other sports, and athletes train almost year-round for competition. Our focus is on competition, and in our gym, we teach all of the skills necessary for our athletes to successfully compete locally, regionally, and nationally. Our program offers the benefits of competitive cheerleading to girls and boys of all skill levels who are between the ages of 3 and 18. ***************************** Since our humble beginnings in a small dance room 15 years ago, CFX has become an established and well-respected program in the all-star cheerleading industry, and we are still evolving. We are very excited about our recent move to Elk Grove Gymnastics School, where we have space to grow and all the equipment we need to train our athletes to their highest potential while staying true to our original intent: to teach, encourage, and inspire our youth to mastery of skills - including life skills - in a safe and family-oriented environment through the sport of competitive cheerleading. All these years later, we remain family-friendly, flexible, and affordable, and we strive daily to be of great value to all who choose to be part of our team. We train exclusively at Elk Grove Gymnastics School, 775 Bonnie Lane in Elk Grove, IL. We are a member of the USASF, the governing body for the sport of competitive cheerleading. We follow all USASF rules, including the requirement that all athletes register with the USASF and provide verification of age (birth certificate) to be eligible to compete. The USASF currently charges $30 each competition year for athlete registration. This fee is subject to change each season and has not yet been announced for the 2016-2017 competitive year. We place our athletes on teams for competition based on age and skill level.
Examples of skills required in competition at each skill level: Level 1 cartwheels, round-offs, back kick-overs, front walk-overs, extension preps, full extensions braced on two sides Level 2 back handsprings, round-off back handsprings, full extensions with cradles, basket tosses, single legged flexibility stunts at the prep level Level 3 round-off back tuck, single legged stunts at the full extension level, full-down (twist) cradles Level 4 standing back tuck, all Level 3 stunts plus increased difficulty If your athlete is a beginner, no worries - we teach it all! Team placement is determined by try out. Cheer Force extreme reserves the right to place participants on teams/levels deemed by our staff to be the best fit for both the cheerleader and the team in accordance with USASF guidelines and to make changes at any point during the season as needed. We will find opportunities for our athletes to perform skills gained during the season as the skills are perfected; in other words, our athletes may "move up" in competitive level during the season as their skills grow without having to wait until the following year. Summer Skills & Choreography Practices begin Sunday, July 10, and run for 5 consecutive weeks. Participation is highly encouraged as this is the time when we focus on the skill sets included in our choreography. However, summer practices are prorated for athletes who cannot attend and credit is applied to the first program fee payment due in August. Summer practices are usually held on Sunday afternoons from 3:45-5:45 p.m. for all athletes. Competition Season begins Sunday, August 21. The competition season calendar is 36 weeks and does not include major religious holidays, the Sunday between Christmas & New Year s, Mother s Day, or the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. Team Practices are held on Sunday: Youth Teams: 2-3:30 pm Junior and Senior Teams: 3:45-5:45 pm Extra practices on Thursday evenings, Friday evenings or early Saturday mornings may occasionally be scheduled with as much advance notice as possible to prepare for competition and events. We provide yearly practice and competition schedules to members upon registration. This information is also posted on our website and updated regularly.
Athletes who attend practice regularly and stay current on team skills are eligible to compete. There is no penalty for missing a regular season practice, although we encourage consistent participation for the best experience in competitive cheerleading. We do not pro-rate for missed practices except for the summer session and for those on leave of absence. We do require an email in advance advising us if a cheerleader is not able to attend any scheduled practice for his or her team so that we may plan accordingly. Competing With CFX Athletes must have a uniform or have a uniform on order in order to compete. From September through May, teams compete one or occasionally two times per month. For the richest competition experience, we compete at events hosted by a variety of nationally reknowned brands, including Varsity, Cheersport, Jamfest, GLCC, Champion Spirit Group, and Xtreme Spirit. Most venues are located within an hour's drive of our gym. Several travel trips may be scheduled each season to broaden our athlete's all-star cheerleading experience and encourage team bonding All events are optional, and there is no minimum or maximum number that a cheerleader must participate in. If there is insufficient interest in an event or a competion, it may be dropped from our tour. Not all teams will compete at all events. We highly encourage all athletes to compete as frequently as possible for the best all-star experience. Eight weeks before each meet, parents will have the opportunity to decide if their athlete will compete. Payment for each meet is due six weeks in advance and must be received on time for an athlete to remain on the competition roster. Specific opt-out and payment due dates will be included in the meet information posted on our website for each meet. Once the payment deadline has passed, your registration is final and non-refundable if you have not opted out of the event, and you are responsible for the total price of the event whether or not your cheerleader actually competes (for instance, if you change your mind, or your cheerleader is sick or becomes injured.) No refunds or credits will be offered by the host company or by CFX. You have flexibility in choosing your events. Once you have chosen to compete, you create a commitment to your team to attend scheduled practices and compete at the event. Each event will include a list of any MANDATORY practice dates. No excuses will be accepted for missing practice on these dates. If you cannot attend all of the required dates, simply do not sign up for that event. This policy enables us to allow choices which work for families and yet still be competitive within the all-star system. Those who sign up for events and disregard the required practice dates may lose their spot in the routine without refund.
We participate in quality USASF (United States All Star Federation) sanctioned events and other events offered locally, regionally, and nationally. The price range for events starts anywhere from $80.00 - $130.00 for local meets to $300+ for travel trips. All events are optional. We offer 8-12 events on average throughout the season (September - May) as well as additional opportunities to perform non-competitively for a low or no fee. The CFX Booster Club Our booster club traditionally sponsors many fundraisers, service projects, and social activities during the season. You are welcome to get involved and participate in fundraisers to help cover your competition and program fee expenses. Please contact us if you are interested in serving on the Booster Club board during the 2016-2017 season. This season, we are wearing beautiful, age-appropriate, custom-designed and made-to-order collegiate-style all-star
uniforms in black, turquoise, and white. This high quality apparel is manufactured to include 4 inches of stretch and is designed to withstand years of use, and we plan to keep this style for the next 2-3 years, so our athletes will get plenty of wear out of them with the opportunity to resell outifts that are outgrown along the way. Uniforms must be paid for in full at the time the order is placed. As of March, 2015, the uniform price is $400. We will accept partial payments for uinforms, but the vendor will not complete the order until the full fee has been received. Those wishing to compete in the fall competitions should plan to remit funds by 6/12 to insure timely delivery. An athlete may order a uniform at any time during the season with the understanding that delivery times can be very long for orders placed from July through March. Make-up is offered at cost, to be determined. All official fees are included in the list above. We never require payment of additional funds for any purpose there are no surprises! Optional opportunities are truly optional. Payment of Fees We accept cash and checks for payment of all fees. Payment through PayPal will be available shortly. Program fee installments are due by the 20th of each month; a $10.00 extended payment fee will be charged to any cheerleader whose payment is not received on time. Cheerleaders whose payments are more than 1 week late may be asked to sit out practice until their accounts are brought current. Extra Classes/Tumbling Our experienced, dedicated coaching staff includes tumbling coaches, cheer coaches, stunt coaches, and choreographers, and we all know and train every athlete. We do not require our athletes to take any extra tumbling, stretch, etc. classes, but do highly encourage those who wish to make quicker progress to do so. On-level tumbling is crucial to success at competition. The new cheerleading tumbling program at EGGS is taught by CFX staff. We offer both drop-in group classes and private tumbling classes for an additional fee for our athletes who want them. From time to time, we may make optional make-up, warm-ups, t-shirts, and other spirit items available for cheerleaders and families who wish to purchase them through the Cheer Force extreme online store or through our Booster Club. Our Booster Club can provide optional fundraising opportunities to offset some of the costs of cheerleading for those who choose to participate.
