TIME COMMITMENT TIME COMMITMENT Dedication is essential to ensuring quality coaching and the progress of both the individuals and the teams. During the summer months absences are allowed for family time, which should be used for vacations and travel. During the school year, an All-Star should only miss practice for severe illness or injury. Cheerleading is a TEAM sport, which requires full attendance to ensure development. Absences: If a cheerleader must be absent from practice, the parent must call the gym at least two hours prior to practice and speak with the head coach of the squad. Excused Absences: Vomiting, Fever (101 or higher), hospitalization, death in the family, specific school function. The coach should be notified well in advance of any school functions. Unexcused Absences: Concerts, movies, staying at a friend s house, not calling the coach to tell him/her that the cheerleader is sick. Allotted 2 per season. If a cheerleader has an unexcused absence the week before a scheduled competition, it will be the head coach s discretion to allow the All-Star to compete that specific weekend. Parents, please do not hold your daughter/son from practice as a source of punishment. This punishes the TEAM more than it does your child.
There is a substantial financial commitment placed upon the parents of an All-Star. We will attempt to offset the cost as much as possible with our organized fundraisers, sponsorships, and scholarships. The prices listed below are only estimates. Basic Costs: Coaching Fees: $68.00/month Deposit: $100.00* All-Star Fee: $25.00 Choreography w/ music: $100.00 USASF Fee: $30.00 } Due On or Before 6/1/2017 COST LIST *Deposit will go towards competition fees Additional Costs: Uniform: $65.00* Competitions: *Pre-Owned uniforms may be available at a discounted price 1 Day Nationals $30-$80* each *All competition prices are estimates There is a $25.00 late fee for past due payments. United Cheerleading is conscious of the expenses associated with the sport of competitive cheerleading. Therefore, we have developed a scholarship program to assist our All-Star Cheerleaders with their financial needs. Criteria for awarding scholarships and a scholarship application will be posted to your online account. The deadline for completed scholarship applications to be returned is June 10, 2017. United Cheerleading will award six $500.00 scholarships for the 2017-2018 All-Star Competitive Season. Of those six, three $500.00 scholarships will be awarded to cover monthly coaching fees and three $500.00 scholarships will be awarded for the Python All-Star Account. SCHOLARSHIPS United Cheerleading is proud to be the first gym in Columbus to develop this in-house scholarship program and hopes to expand this in the future by assisting with college scholarship placements. FUNDRAISING The goal for fundraising is to allow each team member the ability to raise enough money to pay for his/her All-Star fees for the entire season. Every year, we have several organized fundraisers to accomplish this goal. One example of a United Cheerleading fundraiser is our corporate sponsorship plan. Local businesses can sponsor a child, and in return, receive different types of advertising on behalf of United Cheerleading. It is possible to pay for your ENTIRE season through fundraisers!!! To ensure the development of our All-Stars, we offer discounted All-Star tumbling classes. All-Star Tumbling Ratio: 10 to 1 Class Length: 1 hour Class Focus: Running/Standing Tumbling Cost: $5/month ALL-STAR TUMBLING All-Star Tumbling classes will start in September.
