Aviator Allstars Elite Program Tryout Pack 2013-2014 Welcome Prospective Aviator Athlete, Thank you for your interest in joining one of the International Flagship Teams on our Elite Program and the Aviator Allstars Family. We are one of the largest and most exciting Allstar Programs in the UK and we have a lot of amazing opportunities available this season. This packet includes information regarding the try out process for our Elite Program teams. Specifically, you will find information regarding the team guidelines and responsibilities, the live and video try out procedure, try out material and try out documents. Please review this information thoroughly. Aviator Allstars have built up a highly successful program and are well known for their grass roots coaching approach, taking talented athletes and turning them into Elite Cheerleaders. So PLEASE DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED, you will not necessarily need to perform ALL the required skills to make the team as potential and attitude are also important. As we head into our SIXTH year with Aviator Allstars Cheerleading Program, we are all very excited about the opportunities and potential this season has to offer and we hope that you will share this journey with us. Good Luck and we look forward to seeing you at tryouts! Rachel Pearson, Tim Peffers and the Aviator Flight Crew

The Teams: Aviator Aces Our Coed Level 5 Elite team have had an amazing first season, hitting clean and difficult routines throughout the year. They will be competing at the International All Star Federation (IASF) Cheerleading Worlds in Florida in April 2014. The team will consist of Elite athletes from both the AV Program and around the country. F-35 Lightning Our International Elite All-Girl Level 6 team has enjoyed great success this past season, competing at the International Cheerleading Union (ICU) World Championships and placing 6th. They have also competed at the International All Star Federation (IASF) Cheerleading Worlds where they placed 8th as well as being awarded 4th in the Nfinity Nation s Cup! They represented the UK at the European Cheerleading Championships (ECU) in Glasgow 2013 alongside some of the best level 6 teams in the world. The Ladies of F-35 lightning will be competing both in the UK and abroad this season. Aviator International We will be taking this team to Cheersport in February 2014. The team will be competing at an intermediate level and is open to athletes from level 2 upwards. This level will be decided upon the skill level of the athletes who try out. A place will be offered on the understanding that you will be able to make all training sessions and competitions (these dates have been provided well in advance). If you are offered a place on a team, you must be prepared to commit for the ENTIRE SEASON. Failure to do so will result in your withdrawal from the team for the rest of the season and jeopardise any future possibilities within the Aviator Family.

Eligibility: Aviator Aces: Athletes must be 14 before the 1st January 2015 F35 Lightning: Athletes must be 17 before the 1st January 2015 Aviator International: Athletes must be 13 before the 1st January 2015 LIVE TRYOUT INFORMATION All athletes will demonstrate jumps, tumbling skills, stunting skills and choreography*. We will be looking for potential and how well you progress and learn throughout the camps and the tryout. You will also get to meet the Flight Crew and form new friendships. We evaluate each athlete in groups and encourage each person to do their best!! After tryouts the staff will pick teams based on their discretion. We will be offering places to the athletes who we think will fit best into the team family and contribute to becoming the best team for this coming season. All athletes will be notified of their tryout results via email and/or phone on or before Sunday 11th August 2013. Date: Sunday 4th August 2013 Time: 10:00am - 5:00pm Location: Lower Westfield House, Broad Lane, Bramley, Leeds, LS13 3HA. Cost: 10* per athlete - cash payable on the day. TEAM COSTS Below are provisional costs for the 2013-14 season for Aces, F-35 Lightning, and the Cheersport international team. Costs include training, the domestic season, and the international trip. TEAM GUIDELINES Team members are representatives of Aviator Allstars in and out of uniform and will be expected to uphold the highest standards of moral conduct and adhere to the Aviator Allstars Policies and Guidelines. 1. Team members are allowed to compete with other local teams but must inform Rachel Pearson and Tim Peffers of any other team commitments. However, the Elite Program training and competition dates are top priority. Please plan your other commitments accordingly. 2. A positive attitude must be maintained toward all team members and coaches at all times. 3. Rachel Pearson and Tim Peffers have final say on all team matters, routine content, and their authority respected. 4. Team members will be required to sign an agreement outlining the policies and procedures and the code of conduct for the Aviator Allstars Cheerleading Program. Failure to abide by the terms may result in expulsion from the team and jeopardise any future possibilities within the Aviator Family.

5. Any team member under the influence of drugs or alcohol during a practice, event, function or competition will be terminated from the team. 6. All training dates are mandatory. Non attendance to a session may result in expulsion from the team with no refund. Repeated non attendance to multiple sessions will result in expulsion with no refund. 7. All team members must be on time and dressed in AV team training kit at all times. A dress code will be enforced in the 2013/14 season. 8. Team members are expected to be in and maintain a healthy and physically fit condition. We expect each team member to practice, stretch, and work on individual skills in between team training sessions, and able to show evidence of improvement. 9. Sportsmanlike conduct must be maintained at all times. Verbal abuse and cursing, at any event, will not be tolerated. 10. Any fees payable are non returnable and must be paid by the deadline set. Non-payment will result in withdrawal from any competitions and expulsion from the team. 11. Team members will actively participate in fundraising projects, benefit performances, and volunteer activities for the community providing sufficient notice has been given. 12. We believe in a team first, positive attitude, and feel one of our greatest strengths is team chemistry. Negative attitudes, bullying, and selfish behaviour could lead to disciplining and expulsion from the team.

FAQs ABOUT TRYOUTS Can I tryout despite not being able to afford to go to Worlds. Yes. Our ideal situation would be have 2 teams of 24 competing all year and going to Worlds. If we have more than 24 people who are at a high enough standard then we will make the teams larger and have non-worlds athletes on the teams who would compete domestically. If we do not have enough athletes to fill 2 teams going to worlds, we Aces will be competing at Worlds and Lighting will compete at Germany. We would advise any athletes definitely wanting to compete at worlds to make themselves eligible for Aces a well as lightning. Please note Aces will definitely be going to Worlds. How much will a Non-Worlds season cost?. For Aces, it will cost 160 if you are currently on an AV program and 405 if you do not train with a weekly AV program. Lighting will cost 410 160 if you are currently on an AV program and 655 if you do not train with a weekly AV program. This includes a trip to Germany for the European Open. Can new people make the Worlds team or will it just be the team that earned the bid? No, new members are able to be substituted and alternated into the Worlds teams so there are lots of places on the worlds team available for new members. What level will the teams be? Aces will be co-ed 5 and Lightning All Girl 6. The international team s level will be decided based on the level of athletes on the team. Can I tryout for all the teams: Yes, you can tryout for all teams and will be given a recommendation as to which squad is best for you. Worlds do not allow crossovers so in the event of both Lightning and Aces competing at Worlds you will not be able to crossover between the two. Do I have to leave my current team if I make the squad: Absolutely not. We positively encourage athletes to keep training on local teams during the week but will need to know what competitions they will competing on with their current team to comply with crossover rules. Can I tryout despite having already tried out for another team: Yes, you can tryout Aviator Allstars as long as many other teams you wish. We would encourage prospective athletes to be sure that AV is the right fit for them. Trying our for other teams will not be taken into consideration during our tryouts. However, athletes should only accept a place on the team once they are 100% sure they wish to commit for the season. Accepting a place on the team and then trying out for another team or accepting a place and then leaving will negatively affect any chances of future involvement with the program. I previously cheered with the program but then retired/moved away/been cheering on another team/took time out. Will I be able to come back? Yes, any previous athlete is welcome back unless they have been told differently. Any debts owed before they left must be paid before rejoining the program. If you have any questions about the tryouts and the season ahead please come speak to us at the gym, find us on facebook or email us at info@aviatorallstars.com.
