The LOX Baitcaster evolved out of discussions with leading Cod Anglers. Quite simply they wanted more. Their argument was elegant in its simplicity, why didn t the Cod have its own specific high-end rod? The specific criteria for the rod was the ability to handle bulky Cod lures, in-close work and yet have sufficient power reserve for handling those Green & Gold beauties. A highly steerable rod for fast flowing water. Sufficiently large guides to allow heavy leaders to run through smoothly through the guides, LOX always uses the highest grade of Japanese Carbon Prepreg, but what was needed was a modification in the basic lay-up of the carbon cloth. After hundreds of attempts a unique lay pattern that produced the just right curve and recovery.
