Sheridan County 4-H Family August/September Notes Sheridan County Fair Thank you to everyone for all of your help and hard work during the Fair! It takes our whole 4-H Family to make the Fair possible. The 2017 Fair Dates have been set for July 17th 22nd so mark your calendars! Buyer Thank yous Please make sure to send a thank you note or stop by with something to thank your Livestock and Food Auction buyers for supporting you and for supporting our County 4-H Program! Fair Feedback Survey Please take a few minutes to send any Fair feedback you have through the survey that was e-mailed out via 4-H Online. We appreciate constructive comments and feedback so we can continue to improve the Sheridan County Fair! We will be trying to make Fair Book changes while it is still fresh so if you have any requests for additional classes or rule changes, please make sure to submit those in your survey or call the office! State Fair Entries All State Fair entries need to be in the office by noon on September 8th for the office to take them down to the State Fair. Club Leader Meetings 4-H Club Leaders need to schedule a meeting time to review their 4-H year with Julianne sometime in September or October. This will be to give and receive feedback on your club and a time to request any resources you may need from the office. Thank you! 48 Hours of 4-H Service Challenge We hope every Extension Unit will join us this fall in seeing just how much we can give back to our communities! The weekend after National 4-H Week, is the perfect opportunity to setup a service project. Invite your friends, clubs, adult volunteers and 4-H Alums too! Find all the information on the state 4-H website and start planning your projects. If your group wants t-shirts they must be ordered online by September 19. When: October 8-9, 2016 Who: 4-H Members, 4-H Clubs, Friends, Adult Volunteers, Parents, 4-H Alumni It's time to make plans, order t-shirts for your club and register your projects online. Go to Kansas 4-H.org, click on events, and 484H www.kansas4h.org/484h Kansas 4-H Leadership Weekend - KYLF and KVF The Kansas Youth Leadership Forum (KYLF) and the Kansas Volunteer Forum information are on the 4-H Online CVent Registration System and are ready for you and your 4-H members and volunteers to register. The Forums will be held November 18-20,2017 at Rock Springs 4-H Center. KYLF is for youth ages 14-18 before January 1, 2016 and KVF is for all Kansas 4-H Volunteers. KYLF will feature leadership workshops, Youth Council Elections, and opportunities to learn and have fun. The Kansas 4-H Volunteer forum will feature training from the Kansas Leadership Center, workshops and information to help volunteer be more effective. This year participants in both forums will register though the same system. The Early Bird registration fee for KYLF Youth and Adults is $215.00 for registrations on or before October 15, 2016. The registration fee for KYLF Youth and Adults is $245.00 from October 16, 2016, to November 1, 2016. The Early Bird registration fee for Kansas Volunteer Forum attendees is $165.00 for registrations on or before October 15, 2016. The registration fee for Kansas Volunteer Forum attendees is $195.00 from October 16, 2016, to November 1, 2016. This summer there were project days for buymanship, fishing, livestock judging, sewing, beef care and handling, goat and swine care and handling, quick breads, dog obedience and more! And the Harvesters and Angelus Clubs had club tours to show off what they were taking to the Fair!
