1. ANNOUNCEMENT / INVITATION Ice Skating Australia and New Zealand Ice Figure Skating Association would like to invite you to participate in the Oceania International Novice Figure Skating Competition 2018. We would like to take the opportunity to thank the ISU Development Commission for their generous support and for enabling us to conduct this competition and Coaches Seminar. This will be the first year for this competition, which we hope to make a part of the list of ISU competitions in future. 2. GENERAL REGULATIONS The Oceania International Novice Figure Skating Competition 2018 will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations 2016, the Special Regulations & Technical Rules Single & Pair Skating 2016, and the relevant ISU Communications. Participation in the Oceania International Novice Figure Skating Competition 2018 is open to all Competitors who belong to an ISU Member, and qualify with regard to eligibility according to Rule 102, provided their ages fall within the limits specified in Rule 108, paragraph 3 b) and they meet the participation, citizenship and residency requirements in Rule 109, paragraphs 1 through 5 and ISU Communication 2030 or any update of this Communication. In accordance with Rule 109 of the ISU General Regulations and ISU Communication 2030 all Skaters who do not have the nationality of the Member by which they have been entered or who, although having such nationality, have in the past represented another Member, must produce an ISU Clearance Certificate. Passports of all Skaters, as well as the ISU Clearance Certificate, if applicable, must be presented at the accreditation of the event for verification. All competitors must be entered through their respective Member Federation. 3. TECHNICAL DATA PLACE: Main arena (MR): O Brien Group Arena, 105 Pearl River Road, Docklands, Melbourne VIC 3008 Australia (a double- indoor ice rink with twin ice surfaces of 60 x 30 m, air-conditioned and heated) Practice arena (PR): same as main arena. 3.1. ENTRIES All Entry Forms are available on the website of the competition www.isa.org.au/oceania2018 Please e-mail Entry Forms to oceania2018@isa.org.au. 4.1 Entries of competitors All entries should be made by the Member. ISU Members may enter up to 5 entries, and their substitutes, for each category in Ladies and Men, Pairs, and Ice Dance. Competition entries 4

will be capped at 30 skaters per division. Further entries may be accepted after April 1, 2018 if space permits. The entries by name should reach the organiser no later than April 1, 2018. The official entry forms must be used and we kindly ask skaters to send a copy of their passport at the time of entry to oceania2018@isa.org.au. Confirmation of the skaters accepted to the competition will be published on the website no later than April 15, 2018. 4.2 Entry fee The entry fee is $75 AUD for Basic Novice Singles and $100 AUD per Basic Novice Pair/Couple for Pairs and Ice Dance and $150 AUD for all Advanced Novice Singles & Pairs, and Ice Dance Couples. Entry fee will be refunded if the skater is not accepted (if there will be a limitation of the numbers of entries). 4.3 Entries of officials Each participating ISU Member is welcome to nominate one Judge and one reserve Judge with at least the qualification International Judge Singles & Pairs and/or Ice Dance. Please fill in the Judges form and return no later than April 1, 2018. The panels will be drawn immediately after the closing of entries. Members will be notified of the result. 5. MEALS, LODGING and TRAVEL EXPENSES The organizer will provide and cover the expenses for room and meals for all accepted Officials participating, beginning with dinner on May 15, 2018 until breakfast on May 19, 2018. Should any Official arrive at the hotel before or stay longer than the period described above, their room costs and expenses will be the responsibility of the individual and must be paid upon arrival. Travel expenses for drawn judges must be covered by the respective member. All extra expenses incurred by any Official will be the responsibility of that person and must be paid prior to departure. The expenses for rooms and meals for Team Leaders, competitors and other team officials will not be covered by the organizer and are on the account of the team. The organiser will additionally cover economy round trip airfare for the Referee, Technical Controller, Technical Specialist, and Data/Replay Operators. Members will be responsible for covering the 5

expenses of their accepted judges. The Organiser will arrange for transportation from the airport to the Official hotel for all accepted Officials. 6. PRACTICE Official practice for Competitors begins on May 15, 2018. The detailed schedule will be issued at the time of registration. 7. MUSIC / PLANNED PROGRAM CONTENT All Competitors shall furnish competition music of excellent quality in digital audio file (mp 3 file uploaded onto website see details on Forms page). Music files must be submitted on an mp3 file by May 1, 2018 and on a CD on site at Accreditation. The music files will be kept until the end of the competition. A list of titles, composers and orchestras of the music to be used for the Short Program and Free Skating Program must be listed for each Competitor on the official Music Selection Form. Music must be uploaded via the link on the www.isa.org.au/oceania2018 and should be received no later than May 1, 2018. The MP3 music file should be named: Division_Program (SP or FS)_SkaterName_Nation_ Running time of music eg: Novice Ladies_SP_Skatername_Australia_2.48.mp3 A copy of Music MUST be supplied at Accreditation. It must on a CD (only 1 track per CD). All CDs MUST be clearly labelled as above. CDs must be of good quality and submitted in a separate case for each CD. The PPC form must be submitted via online entry system at www.isa.org.au/oceania2018 no later than May 1, 2018. The PPC must be filled in precisely by each skater in English using the Terminology for the elements listed in the respective ISU Communication. 8. ARRIVAL OF PARTICIPANTS / TEAMS Invited Officials, Referees, the Technical Panel (Technical Controller, Technical Specialists, Data & Replay Operators), Judges, Competitors, Team Leaders, Team Officials and Coaches taking part in the competition are requested to announce to the Organizing Committee as soon as possible but no later than May 1, 2018, the name of the airlines, flight numbers, dates and times of arrival at Melbourne Airport or any other information concerning transportation and arrivals. The travel form on www.isa.org.au/oceania2018 should be used. All Officials will have arranged transport from Melbourne Airport to the Official Hotel, Four Points by Sheraton Melbourne Docklands, 443 Docklands Drive. The nearest airport to Docklands in Melbourne, Victoria is Melbourne Airport (MEL). Melbourne Airport is a distance of 21.34kms to Pearl River Road in Docklands, VIC. The average cost of a taxi from Melbourne Airport to Pearl River Road or the hotel, Four Points Sheraton Melbourne Docklands, is $60.00 AUD. 9. OFFICIAL HOTEL The Organiser will make the room arrangements for invited officials only. 6

Teams, Coaches and Team Leaders and other team members are requested to make all accommodation bookings directly with the hotel. ACCREDITATION The Accreditation is planned at the O Brien Arena upon arrival May 15, 2018 from 1:00pm 4:30 and on May 16 from 7:00am onwards. Access to the rink (after accreditation) will be with the Accreditation badge given. 11. OPENING DRAW Draws will be made at the O Brien Group Arena on May 15, 2018 at 4:30pm. The starting order will be made public on the official website and posted at the O Brien Group Arena following the draw. 12. PRESENTATION OF MEDALS The three best placed Competitors in each event will be announced and honoured. Gold, silver and bronze medals will be presented to the medalists. 13. PROTOCOL / LIST OF RESULTS Protocol/ list of results in each category will be published on the competition s website: http://www.isa.org.au/oceania2018 14. INSURANCE / LIABILITY In accordance with Rule 119, it is the sole obligation of each Member participating, to provide medical and accident insurance for their athletes, officials and all other members of the Member s team. Such insurance must assure full medical attendance and also the return of the ill or injured person to the home country by air transport or by other expeditions. The Organiser will provide emergency medical services for all invited Officials and Competitors during the competition. 7

15. INITIAL JUDGES MEETING/ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION The initial Judges meeting and the Technical panel meeting will be held at the ice rink on the evening of May 15 th. Round Table Discussions will be held on the evenings at the conclusion of each events. 16.
