2016 Lions Basketball Team Camp Tournament Information Please read carefully! Thank you for your participation in the 2016 Lions Basketball Team Camp. Our staff is looking forward to an exciting and competitive day of basketball. Please feel free to express any questions or concerns that you might have throughout the camp. Hopefully you and your team will enjoy the day! Please read all the information below. 1) Team Camp Director Information The Team Camp Director is Brannon Hays, Director of Basketball Operations. If you have any questions call: cell (310) 686-8462 or Jack Doran (707) 953-1246. 2) Check-in will be at Gersten Pavilion at Loyola Marymount University. 1 LMU Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90045. ONE COACH FROM EACH TEAM MUST CHECK-IN 45 MINUTES BEFORE FIRST GAME. Do not have parents or players at the check-in table. Please have your roster form completed, balance due (if any) and player insurance information. At this time the coach will receive t-shirts. 3) T-shirt policy Once checked-in at the registration table, Shirts will only be given to the head coach. You will be asked to sign a sheet acknowledging receipt of the shirts. Each team gets a total of 10 shirts. If you want to exchange for a different size, only the head coach will be allowed to make the exchange. No exchanges will be made without a t-shirt in hand. 4) Format/Number of Games Each team will play a minimum of 5 games. After pool play, each pool will be seeded into a final game against the same position team in the opposite pool. We will make every attempt to satisfy the requests of specific teams. 5) Sites All games will be played at Loyola Marymount Univ. Gersten Pavilion or Burns Recreation Center The following is the key: Ct 1 = Court on Right Ct 2 = Center Court Ct 3 = Court on Left Ct 4 = Burns Rec Ct 5 = Burns Rec 6) Officiating All games will be officiated by two high school certified officials. RESPECT THE OFFICIALS! There will be no tolerance for players and/or coaches disrespecting a referee. If you have a problem with officiating during the Tournament, please see the Tournament Director. 7) What to bring a. Reversible jerseys (light and dark) that include the player s numbers. Home team wears light color. b. Completed team roster. Please make sure your players have included their insurance information. No insurance information = No play. c. Entry fee balance, if it has not already been paid. Please call if you need your balance. d. Coaches will be responsible for bringing their own basketballs. 8) Trainer There will be at least one trainer on each playing site. If one of your players wishes to be taped, they must provide their own athletic tape! 10) Misc. Info The coaching staff will be available all weekend to discuss anything you wish (our system, recruiting, tournament organization, etc.). Please feel free to seek us out. Lions Basketball Team Camp June 10-12, 2016 Game Rules Pregame: Each team must start with 5 players. If a team does not have five players by game time, they will forfeit the game. The only exception is if the team not forfeiting agrees to wait for the team to arrive. Home Team: The team listed first on the schedule will be the HOME team on the scoreboard. Warm-ups: 5 minutes minimum Game time: 20 minute halves, running clock. Clock will stop on all whistles in the last 2 minutes of the game, unless a team is up by more than 11 points. Half time: 3 minutes Overtime: 2 minutes with stopped clock. If the score is still tied at the end of overtime, we will play sudden death. The first team to score wins (this includes free throws!). Overtime and sudden death periods will start with a jump ball. Time outs: Each team is allowed 2 timeouts per game. Timeouts will be 45 seconds in length. Fouls: Bonus will be after the 7th team foul of each half. Double bonus will be after the 10th team foul of each half. Individual players will be disqualified after the 5th personal foul. All other High School rules apply. Free Throws: Regular High School rules apply! The clock will not stop, unless a technical foul has been given or in the last 2 minutes of the game. Technical Foul: The player that is given a technical foul will sit out of play for 5 minutes. Two freethrows plus the ball will be awarded to the opposite teams. The clock will stop only as the two free-throws are in progress. If a second technical foul is given, the recipient(s) will be ejected out of the gym and will not be allowed to play/coach for the rest of the camp. We encourage good sportsmanship at all times! Coaches, it is your responsibility to teach your players through word and action good sportsmanship and the rules! Pool Play Tiebreakers: 1. Two teams: Winner of head to head competition. 2. Three teams: Head to Head, then Point differential. 3. Four teams: Same as three-way procedure.
