September weather has been great, and even though we lost a few days due to aeration, Glen got the course back in shape quickly and we have seen a lot of play this month. The annual Cripple Bear tournament between Cripple Creek and Bear Trap Dunes was very close but unfortunately we were not able to bring the trophy back to the Creek. Thanks to our players for a great two days of competition. A big congratulation has to go out to Don Antonucci and Glenn Hudson for their leadership and organization for another very successful 3-Man Challenge tournament and fundraiser, to benefit Operation Seas the Day. Cripple Creek golf is the single largest donor to this worthy endeavor. This is the time of year when we again have a number of outside events, so keep a close eye on the tee sheet and remember you can make tee reservations up to 7 days in advance. Please be considerate when booking multiple times. Try to have all players listed, and make sure to turn back unfilled times no later than 48 hours prior to the tee times. Please don t forget to enter your scores and include the last name of all players and the date of play on the scorecards of all your official rounds. Place the scorecards in the box above the computer. The Active Golf Season in Delaware runs until November 14 th so handicaps will continue to be updated by DSGA. The Golf Committee is looking for a few new members. If you are interested in participating on the Committee, please get in touch with me. Page 3 CCWGA 18 HOLE by Joan VanDerbeek First day of Fall is a reminder we have one more month of our 2017 Golf Season. Our ladies who spend the winter in Florida, Hawaii and Arizona are packing their bags ready to extend their summer season. Travel safely and enjoy. Thank you Kristen for hosting our end of year Happy Hour, what a fun night! Delicious food, tasty wine and the enjoyment of good friends. The ladies Interclub Cup between Bear Trap Dunes and Cripple Creek was a real challenge this year! Hurricane Harvey made weather conditions impossible to play at Cripple Creek the first day. The tournament was adjusted to a one-day event played at Bear Trap which led to a disappointing finish. Good sports as we are! Congrats to Bear Trap! We ll be back for the cup next year! End of Year Party Interclub Cup ~ Bear Trap Dunes

Page 4 MISGA by Robert Allen October is the last month of our 2017 MISGA season of mixers. We have an away mixer scheduled at the Rookery North course in Milford, Delaware on Tuesday, October 17, and two home mixers at Cripple Creek. Thursday, October 12 a home mixer with Cripple Creek players and players visiting from other MISGA clubs. Signup sheets for these events will be up in the Golf Shop two weeks in advance of the date of the events. If you have any questions contact Robert Allen, Cripple Creek MISGA rep, at jwa37@comcast.net, or on his cell phone at 302-228-8012 CCWGA 9 HOLE by Judie Davis The Nine Hole Golf Group will conclude their season on Tuesday, October 24 with the Fall Business Meeting beginning at 9:00AM. The agenda will be election of officers and awarding of year end prizes. Golf and lunch will follow the meeting. Hope to see you all there!

Page 5 Cripple Creek Men Raise Over $16,000 for Operation SEAs the Day The 3-Man Challenge raised $16,826.14 for Operation SEAs the Day, an organization that provides a beach week for wounded veterans and their families. Cripple Creek members Don Antonucci & Glenn Hudson assembled 51 golfers, 14 others donated to the cause. Winners Chris Givens, Drew Sunderlin and Eddie Quick celebrated at Hooked Up Ale House and Raw Bar where the donation was presented to Operation SEAs the Day. The players wore a black ribbon in memory of Frank Lavin, Cripple Creek member and significant supporter of Operation SEAs the Day who recently passed away.
