CALGARY FOOTHILLS SOCCER CLUB EVALUATION PROCESS OUTDOOR 2018
U9-U12 U9/10 TIER A-D U11/U12 TIER 1-3 At the end of each season the team coaches will submit a player ranking form to the Technical Staff. This will be a summary of the player s performance during team practices and games from across the season. Academy staff will also provide feedback reports on the players based on their own observations from Academy practices & CMSA games. This helps to create a better knowledge of our current players PRIOR to them completing an open assessment with any new players to the Club. Stage 2 Skills Assessment In order to support us with building a more accurate picture of our players long-term development all of our players will complete a skills assessment during the U9-U12 age range. This will also provide us with data on any new player to the Club and enable us to add our results to the historical data for our current players. We will focus on areas such as: Dribbling Turning Ball Striking 1v1 Skills Speed Testing The data is collated and used to select teams for the first round of small-sided games. Stage 3 Small Sided Games Phase One Players will be placed into teams based on the data that is collected from our skills assessment and participate in small-sided games, such as 4v4, to allow the Technical Staff to evaluate the players in game situations. Once the games begin players may be moved to a different team in order to find the relevant level of play for each player. Stage 4 Small Sided Games Phase Two At this stage the Technical Staff will place players into teams that reflect their performance during our skills assessment and first phase of small-sided games.
