The program is designed for children who can skate without assistance and will teach all the basics of hockey: skating, stick handling, passing, shooting, and teamwork. There will also be cross-ice games for fun and learning. Also included is a specially designed, age-specific weeknight skating skills clinic at the YMCA with Coach Dave Randall. There are ~18 one-hour on-ice sessions throughout the season. All participants will be required to wear a complete set of hockey equipment including skates, stick, helmet, gloves, and pads. BYH has 40 sets of loaner equipment that can be used for the season for a fully refundable $75 deposit (returned when equipment is turned in). Players are responsible for their own skates, cup, and stick. 8U Mites Birth years 2008-2009 July 1 or earlier $495 After July 1 $595 Practices ~22 Home Games ~10 To help with the skill development of the players, the 8U Mite ADM program may be divided into two groups based on skill level. Tryout Fee: All players interested in playing on a Travel A or B team must participate in tryouts and usually consist of two or three on-ice sessions. Anyone who played for an organization other than BYH last season, please see New Members policy outlined below. Goalies tryout for free at all levels. The remaining payments for the program will be collected in monthly installments from October to January for our travel teams. Other teams with lower costs will be collected over fewer monthly installments. Any family not fully paid, or in good standing with their payment plan by January 15th, will not be allowed to participate in any BYH on-ice events until payments are made in full. Requirements for First Practice: It is required that before your player is allowed to participate in the first practice that a minimum payment of $250 is made. This form can be found at the start of the on-line registration system or the BYH web site under Documents. Outstanding Balances: Members with an outstanding balance from a previous year will not be allowed on the ice for any BYH event (conditioning clinic, tryout, skills clinic etc.) until all commitments have been fulfilled. A financial release, required by NYSAHA to allow a player to transfer to another organization, will not be issued. Financial Hardship/Scholarship: BYH is focused on each individual player. In cases of financial hardship, payment arrangements must be submitted to the BYH Registrar for approval. In addition, any family who has a financial hardship is also eligible for a financial scholarship. Scholarship applications can be found on the BYH web site. Refunds: Full refunds of fees paid (less an administrative fee of $100) will be made for players who have not participated in practice or games. Other refunds may be prorated based on Board discretion. Registration Requirements USA Hockey Online Registration: All players and coaches are required to register online with USA Hockey. You will be required to enter your USA Hockey registration number when registering on-line for BYH programs. 5

Player/Association Commitment Form: Per New York State Amateur Hockey Association (NYSAHA) guidelines, all players will be required to sign a commitment form at the conclusion of tryouts. If tryouts are not required (ie: house teams) this form needs to be completed at the beginning of the season. New Members: Any player who is a member of another hockey association MUST obtain a written Player Release Form from their current association prior to their registration with BYH or participation in BYH tryouts. Equipment: If buying new equipment, please purchase black helmets, pants and gloves to provide a more uniform look among BYH players. PLEASE NOTE: The home ice for BYH is the Bethlehem Area YMCA in Delmar and Albany Academy in Albany. At times, we may have to utilize other area facilities due to scheduling conflicts. Games and practices are occasionally canceled due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control. We will make every effort to reschedule these events. 6
