NORTHAMPTONSHIRE AMATEUR SWIMMING ASSOCIATION (Affiliated to the East Midlands ASA) 2015 Short Course Competition 20 th September 2015 Corby East Midlands International Pool NORTHAMPTONSHIRE AMATEUR SWIMMING ASSOCIATION (Affiliated to the East Midlands Region) PROMOTER S CONDITIONS FOR COUNTY SHORT COURSE COMPETITION 2015 1. The NASA executive shall agree the dates and venues. (c) The organising sub-committee for the Competition will consist of: the Competitions Committee: Ian Manning, (Coordinator), Terry Bream (Officials), Jacquie Marshall (Competitors / Technical), Hannah Robinson (Disability Officer) Additional members may co-opted for specific tasks. The Competitions Committee will decide on all matters concerning the championships and hereafter are known as The PROMOTER. The competition will be held under ASA laws and ASA Technical rules. 2. THE COMPETITION The Competition shall be open to eligible swimmers as defined in the ASA Open Meet Licensing Criteria. (Minimum Age: 10 years at 31st December 2015) The swimmers must be ASA Category 2 registered. (c) Age of competitors as at 31 st December 2015. (d) (e) (f) The competition shall be open to members of clubs or organisations affiliated to the NASA for the past continuous six months prior to the competition. A swimmer who has taken part in a similar competition in another county, or who has represented another county, in the twelve months prior to the competition shall not be eligible to take part in the NASA competition. The Competitions Committee shall, at their discretion, have authority to grant exemption to items (d) and (e) upon receipt of a written submission. 3. COUNTY SHORT COURSE COMPETITION GENERAL RULES For all County Competition events all age groups will swim together, seeded according to entry times. The final heat of each event will be spearheaded
(c) (d) (e) All individual events shall be HDW on times recorded in the heats. Age Group winners shall be declared in all individual events. In the 100m IM event a trophy will also be awarded to the swimmers achieving the fastest time for each gender. 4. SUPPLEMENTARY PARA-SWIMMING CONDITIONS Swimmers with a Functional Ability Classification may enter all events with an entry time achieved after 1 st September 2014. Medals shall be awarded on a multi-classification basis to 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed competitors based on the British Para-Swimming Points system. If less than four swimmers participate in any one event then a minus one ruling shall apply. If only one swimmer participates in any event, then the swimmer may, at the discretion of the promoter, be awarded a medal providing he/she improves upon their entry time. 5. AGE GROUPS Age Groups for awards are 10 & 11 years, 12 & 13 years, 14 & 15 years, 16 years and over. Awards for the competitions are medals for 1 st through to 3 rd for each age group. 6. QUALIFYING TIMES Entry to individual events to be limited to qualifying times as agreed by The PROMOTER. Submitted times must have been achieved after 1 st September 2014. All entry times will be based on 25m times. Conversions from 50m times are acceptable. 7. TEAM COMPETITION Entries are limited to one team per club. After the closing date, in the event of empty lanes, all clubs will be invited to enter a second team. Acceptance of a second team will be decided by draw if there are more teams than empty lanes. Lanes will be allocated according to a lane draw to be made on the day of competition. 8. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS A responsible club official must sign the completed entry forms certifying that the submitted time has been achieved after 1 st September 2014 and that the submitted time is within the qualifying times set by NASA. (c) (d) Completed Entry Forms to be returned to the nominated person, by the published closing date. Club must submit entries via Sportsystems. Queries to a swimmer s entries will only be considered on production of a completed official entry form. No late entries will be accepted Swimmers with dual club recognition status will compete for the duration of the competition for the club through whom their entries were made. 9. The PROMOTER reserves the right to restrict entries, where the events are oversubscribed. 10. There will be no additions to the programme other than for administration errors. 11. Requests for alteration to a submitted entry time will be refused, except in the case of an administration error. 12. Over the top starts will be used at all sessions for all strokes other than backstroke and medley relay. 13. OFFICIALS for the competition shall be appointed from the ASA list of qualified officials and the ASA list of licensed referees. 14. The PROMOTER shall decide on any matter not covered in these rules or by ASA rules for level 3 competition. Page 2
NASA OPERATIONAL REGULATIONS FOR COUNTY SHORT COURSE COMPETITION 2015 20 TH September 2015 Corby East Midlands International Pool, Corby Qualifying times based on NASA 2015 County Championships and National qualifying times. If events are oversubscribed the swimmers whose entry times are the largest proportion of the qualifying time in the affected events will be rejected to bring the session to within the time allowance. Order of events to be decided by the PROMOTER ENTRY FEES All Events 4.00 per event, including Teams Competition. SPECTATOR ADMISSION A standard entry fee of 3.00 per session or 5.00 per day to include a programme. This applies to all except young children (under 5) accompanied by an adult. Those officiating at more than one session to be offered a monetary sum in lieu of refreshments. Warm-up times for each age group will be announced using the microphone. A warm up marshall will be appointed to control the warm up. Additional warm-up schedules will be posted clearly on the poolside. Each competing club to provide Coaches/Team Managers to supervise the lanes, pro rata to swimmer numbers. Events will be seeded at the start of each session on the day of competition. Swimmers wishing to withdraw from any events they have entered must inform their coaches prior to warm up. Coaches will notify the Promoter of withdrawals via the Swimmer Withdrawal Form enclosed in their Coaches Information Pack. Dropouts, for no good reason, once the session has been seeded will incur a penalty prohibiting further swims in that session including Club relay representation. Genuine illness is a recognised exception. When withdrawn from a session there will be no reinstatement for that session. No late entries will be allowed. AOE timing will be used. Holders of all trophies to be responsible for their return in a good and clean condition ready for presentation at the appropriate time. To ensure that the ASA Laws regarding registration are complied with, random checks may be made. Swimmers should carry their registration cards with them for production if requested. If application has been made and no registration card has been received from the ASA swimmers should have confirmation from their club secretary that the application has been made. Page 3
The PROMOTER reserves the right to prohibit access to certain areas of the pool complex that have been hired for Competition usage, to include: i. The area behind the diving boards, by the steps is out of bounds at all times; swimmers, technical officials, team managers, coaches and NASA event staff must walk past the starting blocks. ii. iii. iv. The covered area at the cafe end of the pool is out of bounds at all times. The covered area immediately behind the boom at the start end is restricted to swimmers waiting for their heat. No more than two heats to be on the covered area at any time. Access to the changing rooms and poolside area is restricted to swimmers, technical officials, team managers, coaches and NASA event staff. Parents or spectators are not allowed to access the changing rooms or poolside area. In the event of an injury to a swimmer, parents can request that the door stewards allow them access. The lead referee for the session will be informed of any request. v. Poolside space and position for clubs and swimmers will be determined by the Promoter and will be based on competition entries received. ( System used at NASA County Championships 2015) The use of mobile phones and other devices with an image capturing facility is strictly prohibited on poolside and in changing rooms. Parents, spectators, coaches or team managers wishing to take still or video photographs must register with reception staff and door stewards and display their badge in a prominent position. Any swimmer failing to comply with these terms will be referred to the PROMOTER for disciplinary action, which may include exclusion from the remaining sessions of the Championships. This does not affect the swimmer s right to appeal. Page 4
