Dock jumping for dogs is fast becoming one of America s most popular outdoor events! Pets compete for distance, diving from a dock into a 25 foot pool. It s an incredible new sport that everyone loves! Splash Dogs was founded by Tony Reed after discovering that his beloved Black Labrador, Sierra, took to the water like a fish a flying fish! Sierra is not only Tony s best friend but also a big hit on the Splash Dog circuit, jumping distances up to 20 feet! Now Splash Dog events are delighting thousands throughout the Western United States with many events in California and Nevada. Splash Dogs have been seen at many events in California & Nevada. Tony Reed grew up in Houston, Texas. He was very active in youth sports football, baseball, swimming and ice hockey. Tony also attended the Okanagan Hockey Camp in Penticton, British Columbia for two summers. Tony started skateboarding in 1968 using the original clay wheels. I rode the first wave of the skateboarding craze. He started surfing at around age 17 and traveled to South Texas and Mexico in search of bigger waves. Tony traveled all over Texas to skateboarding and surfing contests. He read Skateboarder magazine about Dog Town and Del Mar and dreamed of living in California, surfing and skateboarding everyday. In 1980, he moved to San Marcos, TX to attend Southwest Texas State University. In a couple of years I moved to Austin and to practice Real Estate. He was transferred to the Bay Area with SBC in 1998. Tony started snowboarding and traveling up to the Sierra s to go snowboarding. A sweet, beautiful little black Lab came into his life in October of 2001. He named her Sierra. Now she is a feisty, energetic Splash Dog. While watching ESPN one day Tony saw the Great Outdoor Games, Big Air event. He fell in love with the sport immediately and knew Sierra was a natural. Eventually, Tony developed the idea of a dock on a trailer and designed the first specialty trailer, known as The Dock. Now, Tony still works for SBC and runs his company, Splash Dogs.
