Step 3: Create Sanction Complete all fields with a red asterisk * Tournament Name must be specific, spelled correctly and case sensitive. If you have sponsors for your tournament, please list them after the level. Keeping in mind tournament name must take on this format: (Level, division/s, City) followed by: L1 & L1A = Championships L1b = Challenger L2 = Cups L3 = Ups All 10U events must be labeled: (Youth Progression, City, Level) The levels include: Orange L2 Orange L1 Green L1 Tournament director must be listed. This is the person that will be administering TDM and all the draws. If they are not listed as a tournament director in the search directory, please contact festa@eastern.usta.com with their personal USTA membership # to update their status. Then click create tournament
Step 4: General Info Tab Now you are in the sanction form. Again complete all fields with a red asterisk * Also note that any fields with a tennis ball to the right of them will be public information. Indicate Skill level: Super Six, Sweet 16, L1, L1A and Empire Cup doubles select Advanced L1b & L2 select Intermediate L3 select entry level Category always select Section Event ****For 10U category select the tournament level: Orange Level 1 Progression - Intermediate Orange Level 2 Progression - entry level Green Level 1 Progression advanced Notes come back to add notes after the sanction is approved Click Next
Step 5: Organization tab, Contact tab and Dates tab The organization tab will automatically populate based on the organization you listed in Step 3. Please feel free to add website or other information important to your facility that is not included. The contacts tab will automatically populate based on the tournament director you listed in Step 3. Again, feel free to add any additional contact information, including email and/or cell phone. Dates tab you will complete ending date and registration open and closes date. Keep in mind you have to adhere to the closing date you publish. You are better off be conservative and extending the deadline to avoid too many entries. Step 6: Entry Info Tab 1. Entry Type: Open (except when running a Super Six, Sweet 16 or Empire Cup) 2. Player Selection type: No Selection type (except when running Super Six or Sweet 16) 3. Entry Fee Method: Flat fee or first additional. First additional is used when running both singles and doubles 4. Fee: List fee. See Sanctioning document 5. Check box to indicate use of online registration this is required at all tournaments. If allowing mail/phone application only in L3 or adult tournaments. Table 1
Step 6: Entry Info Tab continued 6. If running an adult NTRP tournament check the NTRP ratings 7. Complete bank information or check for club/provider of where entry fees will go Table 2
Step 7: Events Tab Create Event Group add as many event groups as you want (adult & juniors in the same tournament). However all 10U events must be stand-alone you can t include other groups on a 10u sanction form.
Select event you want to host and then use the arrows to move over the divisions Specify default values for event - draw type, surface and court size/ball type are all required. Click next step Save and continue Under the events tab 10U Orange & Green tournaments must have the level listed: Orange Level 2 Orange Level 1 Green Level 1
Step 8: Sanction Fee Tab Enter credit card for $48 sanction fee Select Next Step for Approval
Step 9: Submit for Approval Click on Submit for approval - If successful your sanction will go from Incomplete to pending which is correct If unsuccessful an error message will appear on the right hand side of the screen indicating what fields aren t completed.
