The Burlington Curling Club is one of the finest curling clubs in Ontario with excellent food and beverage service, 5 sheets of quality curling ice and a friendly membership that fosters the love of the game, both on and off the ice. We are a member owned club that is managed by an elected Board of Directors. The current Board consists of a President, Vice-President and seven members at large representing a cross section of our membership. Clinics are offered with qualified instructors for new curlers wishing to learn the sport. The BCC has a reputation for producing quality curlers. The club provides an environment of good fellowship and sportsmanship for curlers at all levels of competition. From our membership, many curlers have become zone, district and provincial champions. The club has a full time manager and ice maker. Our licensed bar and lounge facilities are available during the curling season to members and their guests.
Burlington Curling Club Sections Men s Evening Section This section encourages both brand new and highly skilled curlers with a relaxed fun social league and a competitive league. Social Mon or Thurs at 7pm & 9pm Competitive Tues /Wed/ Fri at 7pm & 9pm The competitive league (Basswood) consists of 20 games spread over four series of games. The social league is 15 games and members may sign up for one of the two nights offered. Membership fee is $563.36 including HST and OCA fees. Men s Day Section Curling is a sport for all ages and nothing exemplifies this more than the Men s Day Section Several series of games are scheduled throughout the season. For each series, members sign up as an individual and they are placed on a team. Curling is offered for a full year, or a half year for those who may travel for part of the winter season. In addition, curling is a sport for all ages. Many of our Day Men members have changed to throwing with a delivery device as many have some difficulty making the traditional curling slide. This device allows curlers to throw while they remain standing, so there is no pressure on the knees and hips. Instruction on how to use the delivery device is available at the club. Mens Day Section Game times: Mon 9:00am, 11:15am, Tues 11:00am, 1:15pm Wed 11:00am, 1:15pm, Thurs 8:30am, 12:45pm Friday 1:15pm You are given a schedule at the beginning of each series, detailing the date and time of your games. Membership fee is $563.36 including HST and OCA Fees. CYOT League There is a Choose Your Own Team League that plays on Fridays afternoons. Skips form their own teams and team members play with that team for the entire season. If you are interested in playing in the CYOT league, please indicate your intention on your application form and the organizers will do their best to place you on a team.
Women s Day Section This section is comprised of members of varying ages and curling experience. New and experienced curlers are welcome. Social and Competitive leagues are available to join, and there are many social activities and special events to participate in. Social - Mon 11:00am, Tues 9:00am, Wed 9:00am or Thurs 10:30am Competitive Friday 9:00am, 11:00am Membership fee is $563.36 including HST and OCA Fees. Women s Evening Section This section offers curling for both novice and experienced curlers. There are many social activities in addition to a competitive and a social league. Social Monday or Thursday at 7:00pm & 9:00pm. Competitive Wednesday or Friday at 7:00pm & 9:00pm The competitive league is a choose-your-own team event. Single players can sign up individually to be placed on a team. Membership fee is $563.36 including HST and OCA Fees. Weekend/Mixed Curling Play is on the weekends, with games played at varying times. Schedules are provided in advance of each series of games. Weekend Mixed Saturday 10:00am, 12 noon, 4:00pm, 6:00pm or 8:00pm. Sunday at 12 noon or 2:00pm. There are 70 choose your own teams in the Mixed Section with each team playing 15 games between October and March. The teams are divided into flights and compete within their flight. The league is designed to be fun yet competitive with teams of equal ability against one another. New curlers are welcome. Players are placed on a team with an experienced curler, and usually play in the lower two flights. The Mixed Committee provides an excellent mentoring system that helps new curlers enjoy their experience at our club. Membership fee is $354.31 including HST and OCA Fees.
Youth Curling Children of all skill levels from beginner to experienced are welcome. Both recreational curling as well as competitive curling is available. Throughout the season skill development sessions are offered to ensure the youth curlers are learning proper curling techniques and etiquette. Little Rocks 8 to 12 years - Tuesday 5:15pm to 6:45pm Junior 13 to 21years - Thursday 4:30pm to 6:30pm Membership Fee is $175.46 including HST and OCA Fees for Juniors Membership Fee is $167.55 including HST fees for Little Rocks. (OCA Fees do not apply) Joining more than one section There are significant discounts available to members playing in more than one section. Please call the club office for details. 905-634-0014 General Information There is a one-time initiation fee of $141.25 including HST for all adult members joining the club for the first time. The BCC also offers a social membership for those who would like to enjoy the club facilities without the curling. The cost is $90.40 including HST. The BCC also has many in club and invitational bonspiels for your enjoyment. Sign up for these bonspiels in the club as they are offered throughout the season. The curling season is from early October to mid-april. Learn to curl clinics for new members with no curling experience are offered throughout the season.
