Cleveland is 9-4 over their last 13 preseason games dating back to 2010. In last night s 86-83 win over Chicago, the Cavs held the Bulls to just 30-86 (.349) shooting, including 1-19 (.053) from behind the three-point line. So far in the early preseason, Cleveland ranks 3 rd in opponent field goal percentage (.378, 95-251) and 8 th in opponent three-point percentage (.264, 19-72). The Cavs are also averaging 10.0 steals per game. The Cavs hit 10-of-20 shots from long distance against Chicago and are now shooting.452 (19-42) from beyond the arc through three preseason games. The Cavs bench shot 9-13 (.692) from long range and outscored Chicago s reserves 55-41. In the Cavs victory over the Bulls, Dion Waiters scored 10 of his game-high 18 points in the fourth quarter. He finished the night shooting 7-12 (.583) from the field, including a perfect 4-of-4 from behind the three-point line, and added three assists in 27 minutes. In three preseason games, Waiters is averaging 10.3 points and 2.3 assists in 18.7 minutes per game. Anderson Varejao had a near double-double against Chicago after tallying eight points and 10 rebounds (four offensive) to go along with three assists, one steal and one block in 25 minutes. Tyler Zeller chipped in with 10 points on 3-4 (.750) shooting, four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in 26 minutes off the bench against the Bulls. During the 2011-12 regular season, the Cavs excelled at limiting the opposition s transition points. Their 11.7 fast break points allowed per contest was the fourth fewest in the NBA. Offensively, Cleveland was one of the better teams at scoring in the paint in 2011-12, averaging 41.9 points in the paint per game, which ranked third in the East and ninth in the league. The Cavaliers finished the 2011-12 season averaging 12.7 offensive rebounds per game, which ranked fourth in the NBA and second in the Eastern Conference. In the 2012 NBA Draft, the Cavaliers selected guard Dion Waiters with the fourth overall pick and acquired forward/center Tyler Zeller in a trade after he was selected 17th by the Dallas Mavericks. Waiters appeared in 37 games at Syracuse University last season, where he averaged 12.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 24.1 minutes as a sophomore. Zeller played four years at North Carolina and had a remarkable senior campaign where he appeared in 38 games and averaged 16.3 points on.553 shooting, 9.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 28.2 minutes per game. The First-Team All- American and ACC Player of the Year also shot.808 (181-224) at the free throw line.
