Students who attended debating camp: Lucy Thorpe, Manisha Nagaratnam, Jessica Peake, Moji Korkerdsantisuk, Joshua Wilson, Ashley Wong, Monisha Murugesh. I d like to thank Mr Marshall who organised this very valuable experience for our students. Sporting Congratulations: Georgia Garnett has been selected to represent Castle Hill PSSA in Girls Touch Football. Luke Vea and Dominic Coleman have made it to represent the Combined Castle Hill, Hawkesbury and Ridges under 11's Rugby League Team. They will be participating in the Sydney West Championships to be held on Tuesday 3rd April and the Kingsway St Marys. Well done! Swimming Congratulations: Well done to the 6 competitors, Alex Marshall, Zac Demos, Alison Whalen, Kumiko Delaney, Young-Seon Kim and Leah McDonald, who represented the Castle Hill Zone at the Sydney West Swimming Carnival last Tuesday. Everyone put in a superb effort. A big thank you to all the parents who transported the competitors to the carnival. Our girls relay team, photographed below, placed 3rd and will progress to the State Swimming Championship to be held at the end of this term. We wish them the best of luck. Bathurst Excursion: Our Stage 3 students will participate in an excursion to Bathurst this Thursday. They have been studying Gold in HSIE and the excursion will broaden their understanding. I know they will represent Jasper Road well. Thank you to all the staff members who will accompany them.

He is very proud of his achievement. Dance Congratulations: Kayla and Jasmine Wong are members of a dance team who are heading to America during the coming holidays. They will perform in Disneyworld as part of the Disney Performing Arts Workshop Youth Program. Jasmine is the youngest performer on the team. They will also participate in workshops at the Broadway Dance Centre in New York. Western Sydney Regional Dance Camp: Jessica Peake attended the Western Sydney Dance Camp last week. It culminated in a spectacular showcase on Thursday. Jessica s photo is featured below. Fencing Congratulations: Adam Grencer represented Jasper Road Public School in the 2012 NSW Schools Roberta Nut Shield Fencing Competitions which took place on Sunday 4 March at NSW Fencing Association Sports Centre at Marrickville. Adam started in sabre U11 and was classified at 8 th place. In February, Adam took part in Fencing Championships at the Blacktown City Games. After very exciting bouts he finished in 3 rd place. Adam started fencing in 2011 and those competitions were his first. Adam s photo is above. Pedestrian Crossing Upgrade: During the upcoming school holidays Baulkham Hills Council will be upgrading the pedestrian crossing in Jasper Road. Grey Wolf Scouting Award: Congratulations to Aaron Morden who has recently been presented with his Grey Wolf award, the highest 2

Good Guys Vouchers: Once again our school is participating in the Good Guys Support your School program. You must notify the customer service desk before payment is made that the purchase is associated with the Support Your School program. Please send vouchers to the office. Holiday dates: Please note the last day of first term is 5 April with school resuming on 24 April. Easter public holidays run from 6 to 9 April. Anzac Day will be a public holiday. PARTIAL ABSENCES FROM SCHOOL So that your child has a calm, settled start to the day, please ensure that he/she is on the school premises before the bell rings at 8.55am. ICAS University Competitions 2012 Change to English Competition Date Due to the Stage 3 Excursion the English Competition scheduled for the 31st July will be Wednesday the 25th July. SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY Just a reminder that the school Cross Country Carnival will be held next Monday, 2nd April, on the Masonic Oval. The Carnival will begin at approximately 11.00am and conclude by 1.15pm. Parents are most welcome to attend. Children should bring something to sit on, preferably waterproof, as the area is still quite damp. Let s hope we get a nice, sunny day. Children who suffer from asthma should bring their own spacer and Ventolin labelled with their name and class if they might require it on that day. Bronwyn Hancock. 3

The 2012/2013 Entertainment books will be available through Jasper Road Public School. A pre-order form has gone home offering bonus offers for early ordering. Bonus offers are in very limited supply, and will be supplied on a first come first served basis. Books will be available from early April. The Entertainment Book provides Jasper Road an opportunity for fundraising and offers substantial opportunities at local restaurants, cinemas, sporting venues and more. Girls Touch Football Team 4
