Saint Louis University Sponsors 18 Varsity Sports (8 men s and 10 women s). Has over 300 student-athletes from 26 states and 7 countries. Is a member of the Atlantic 10 conference. Men s soccer is ranked 5 th nationally in average attendance in 2008 by attracting an average of 2,500 fans for 10 regular-season dates. Men s basketball consistently ranks nationally in the top 50 for average attendance (Averaged 7627 fans during the 2008-2009 season). Billiken games are televised regionally and nationally by KPLR Channel 11, ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, CBS College Sports, and ESPN Plus. Men s basketball games are currently broadcasted on WXOS 101 ESPN (100,000 Watts FM Signal). Official Athletics website (slubillikens.com) averaged 350,000 page views per month with a 15% unique hit rate. Has over 45,000 alumni residing in the area. Has over 4,100 employees.

Billiken fans can hear every pre-season, regular season, and post-season men s basketball game on WXOS 101.1 ESPN Radio. The flagship station of the Billikens and St Louis Rams features a 100,000 watt FM signal. Select Billiken basketball games are televised on CBS College Sports which reaches over 30 million homes, KPLR CW11 which reaches over 800,000 homes and CCIN which reaches over 500,000 homes. Billiken games have also been broadcasted on ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN U and ABC.

Chaifetz Arena opened its doors to Midtown in April 2008. The on campus, multipurpose facility is home to SLU men s and women s basketball and women s volleyball, and a myriad of other events. Chaifetz Arena has 10,600 seats in a single concourse, 14 suites and two party suites and a private hospitality club. The Arena will host over 100 events a year and attract over 400,000 visitors annually. Chaifetz Arena has the latest in arena advertising with over 1,100 feet of LED technology. The Arena features four, 45 x 14, corner scoreboards, a 360 fascia ring measuring 960 feet and 140 feet of LED floor tables. Very few NCAA athletic programs have had as much success as Saint Louis University men s soccer. Established in 1959, the first year of NCAA soccer, the Billikens immediately established themselves as a national power. In all, Saint Louis men s soccer owns 10 national championships, which is the most of any other NCAA men s soccer program. The Billikens have also qualified for the NCAA Tournament a record 45 times.
