The schedule and tournament draw are enclosed for your information. Please review the schedules and if you have any questions do not hesitate to call me at 306-780-9250 or email foster@saskvolleyball.ca Good luck and thanks for participating! Tournament Notes A. Seeding Seeding for Provincials was based on final placing at SUBWAY Sask Cup 3. At the conclusion of Sask Cup 3 the following 12 teams qualified for Division 1 at the Provincial Championship: i) all 8 teams that finished in Division 1 at Sask Cup 3 and ii) the top 4 teams finishing in Division 2 at Sask Cup 3 A serpentine seeding system put these top 12 teams into pools. The remaining teams will compete for the Division 2 Provincial Championship. B. Tournament Rules/Format All 2015-16 Volleyball Canada Rules will be in effect for this tournament. All games will be played Rally Point to 25 (no cap) - you must win by 2 points. 16U Women will utilize the 6 limited substitution rule with libero. The third game of the Best of Three Matches will be played to 15 points with a minimum lead of 2 points (no cap). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1

C. PROOF OF AGE A Coaches Check-In will be required at the Henk Ruys Soccer Centre on FRIDAY, APRIL 29 th from 4:30 8:30 pm. All coaches are to come between this time to check in their teams. Coaches will need to show one government issued document for each athlete (original or photocopy, drivers licence, health card or birth certificate) at the Henk Ruys Technical Office (Officials room), PRIOR TO THEIR FIRST MATCH. Sorry, if documentation isn t produced athletes will NOT be allowed to play. Coaches can pick up their coaching package including coaching cards and bench wristbands at this time. All Head and Assistant Coaches must wear their wristband and also have completed the requirements for Respect in Sport before they will be permitted on the bench. If you play at the Legends Centre in Warman on Saturday morning you must check in on Friday night at the Henk Ruys, as no check in will be available in Warman. If you require a late check-in, contact Cara at the SVA office prior to Wednesday, April 27 th. There will be not check-in provided on Saturday. D. CERTIFICATION All Head Coaches who DO NOT meet the Certified Level 1 standard will be required to pay the appropriate fine at the Technical Office by cash, or cheque, before their team will be allowed to begin competing. Payments can be made by credit card in advance by contacting Marcus at the Sask Volleyball office at 306-780-9804. Head Coaches must present their Coaching Certification Cards prior to each match and the NCCP number is to be recorded on the score sheet each match coaches card will be in the coaches package for all registered Head Coaches. E. SPIRIT OF THE GAME Each team will be provided with a Spirit of the Game award at check-in. Each team is responsible for selecting one athlete to receive this award, present the award to the athlete and communicate back to aaron@saskvolleyball.ca with team and athlete name of the award winner. F. PARKING Parking is limited at Henk Ruys Soccer Center, so teams are encouraged to car-pool. Parking is not permitted beside and in front of the Saskatoon Civic Centre, violators may be ticketed by that facility. Overflow parking is available across Primrose Dr. in the Mall of Lawson Heights East lot. G. OFFICIATING Your team will provide Minor Officials for each game in which you are scheduled to play. Your team must provide 1 Scorekeeper and 1 Linesman per match. If players assume either of these roles, they are still eligible to play and may be substituted in to play. Your team may wish to have a few parent volunteers take care of this duty for your team. 2

H. TIE-BREAKING PROCEDURE Based on Volleyball Canada Rules, if two or more teams are tied at the end of round robin play, the following criteria will be applied in order: a) The team having the best ratio of won/lost matches, considering matches between tied teams, will be ranked higher; b) The team having the best ratio of won/lost games, considering matches played between the tied teams, will be ranked higher; c) The team having the best ratio of won/lost games, considering all matches of the round, will be ranked higher; d) The team having the best ratio of points for/against, considering games played between tied teams, will be ranked higher; e) The team having the best ratio of points for/against, considering all games played during the round, will be ranked higher; f) As determined by the Organizing Committee (e.g. extra game, toss of coin, etc.) I. MATCH PREPARATION Please have your team ready to play on time. Once all teams have played one match, you will have only a five-minute ball warm up on court before the start of your next match. Your co-operation would be appreciated in moving our tournament ahead of schedule if the opportunity presents itself. All games shall start on time as scheduled. Failure of a team to be ready to play at the scheduled time will be penalized by the loss of the first set by forfeit. A further 15 minutes will be allowed before the forfeiture of the second set. Teams must supply their own warm up balls. Coaches please fill in your rosters and sign the score sheet prior to each match. J. MEDICAL ROOM There will be a medical room onsite for athletes requiring first-aid. If you anticipate requiring attention, we encourage you to bring your own supplies (ie. tape). There will be a $5 charge per roll of tape if you do not have any with you...please have exact change. K. PHOTOS TeamWorks Photo will be taking a Team Photo of every team at the event for the Sask Volleyball archives. You will receive an email early next week indicating a timeslot that has been reserved for your team, which will be either immediately before or after one of your matches early in the tournament. If that timeslot doesn t work for you, you can just drop in to the booth and TeamWorks Photo will fit you in. 3

L. WEBCAST Courts 12 and 13 will be webcast live, and archives of the matches will be available to the public on the Sask Volleyball YouTube channel. Each team participating in a webcast match will be asked to select a Player of the Game from the opposing team. Each Player of the Game will receive an award courtesy of Booster Juice. M. JUST VOLLEYBALL Just Volleyball will be set up at Henk Reys to sell volleyball clothing and apparel.
